This aircraft is a Polish-built SB Lim-2 (MiG-15UTI), produced by WSK-Mielec in 1952. The aircraft is operated by the Norwegian Air Force Historical Squadron as a representative of the Cold War ‘enemy’.
As the MiG is taxiing I noticed the Monarch Britannia in the background. I remember that on the ramp at Bristol when I was a small child in the early seventies. We were on a Dan-Air flight gong to Majorca and I think that one was heading to Spain!
Great shots Keith 👏🏻. Any idea what is seen trailing from the Mig's port undercarriage hub between 0:26 - 1:01? Is it some kind of Static Discharge Wick? Never noticed that before
Britain was 20 years behind the other nations when it came to aviations witch is quite obvious when you compare the sleek Mig 15 with arrow wings to the clumsy Vampire with its straight wing. However they learned their lesson later with the Hawker Hunter in the 1960’s.
Brilliant video there. How do you get away with running the shows commentary audio on your video? I've posted vidos on TH-cam of some events only to have them complain about music etc. that's not mine to use in the background. Do the organisers permit your use of their commentators audio, do they charge a fee at all?
Looks like I chose the wrong day; went Saturday and I would describe the show as a damp squib thanks to the weather which was not only rainy, but cold as well. The Battle Of Britain flight was cancelled as were the wing walkers (understandably) and the Red Arrows must have been overhead for all of 15 seconds! It was without doubt the worst airshow I have ever been to and my history of visiting such shows goes back to Farnborough in the 50's. Will I buy tickets for September at Duxford? Probably!
Yes was let down by weather ,this video was taken on the day you was there and yes I think the September show will be a lot better ,just hope weather behaves on that weekend
The Red Arrows also did a very short diplay at Cosford a couple of weeks ago.Mind you Cosford isnt really a show for enthusiasts.More a family day out affair these days. This years show apparantly was very tame with nothing happening for long periods.Duxford Warbirds( Flying Legends) I went to for several years. Not a dull moment and no pregnant pauses.

One can imagine how futuristic the MiG 15 looked to people back in 1950 - it must have blown their minds.
I never saw any of the planes you filmed, I may have given up by then and gone home! Enjoyed watching your clip however, thank you.
amazingly captured these were one of my favourites in the airshow
Thank you, these were an excellent pair
Nice!!!!

Impressive display from these two old warbirds 😊

They certainly did
Seeing the Mig-15 reminds me of that North Korean pilot who defected.

Can’t play music because that’s copyright, but never had a problem with commentary
The best fighter
Why did they take this scheme ? TC-616 was a singleseater.
Captured Mig? When?
How it was captured? During Korean war?
