How bloody marvellous, love the Spit and Hurry but particularly the latter. This almost takes you back to what folks would have seen overhead during WW2.
I was there in 96 when the same number flew overhead. The rumbling sound was incredible and felt like a purring Cat inside your chest... Oh, what it was like to be back then when Bader formed his 'Big Wing' eh? ... Respect
Big Wing was overrated and tactically cumbersome. By the time they'd all formed up the raiders would have dropped their bombs and be on their way back home
4:16 - that upper Hurricane's starboard undercarriage never fully retracted [as can be seen here - I watched it with binoculars until it was out of view] & it was stood down from the display: 4 Hurricanes took off - as can be seen from this sequence - but only three appear in the big wing. The commentator announced that it has a "minor technical hitch" and was going to loiter to the North and land after the full big wing had landed, but I don't know what happened to it after that.
And to think that there was a time where a flight this size would've been just a mere screen for the airbase. I can hardly imagine how having Hundreds in the sky must have sounded like.

The Buchon makes a good sound, almost like the supercharger of the original DB605

It landed safely after the rest of the formation had returned.
@@AviationHighlights Thank you.
Magnificent

Wow 😮
I think the balbo finale is getting a bit repetitive now I think it's about time the directors look at doing something different
