- I decided to play The Sims: Unleashed 22 years after it was released. Why I decided to adopt as many pets as I did will haunt me to this day.
Pets in The Sims 1 are cute though even if they are pixelated to hell.

I remember playing with the Burb family for the first time and right as I started, Tiffany (being the idiot she is) set the whole kitchen on fire. The whole family died on the first day except Brad who was sleeping blissfully upstairs. I ended up sending him on a never-ending vacation to celebrate him finally getting away from that witch ✨
this exact thing happened to me, except both Johnny and Brad survived. I made Brad a nice new wife (always hated Tiffany lol)
I absolutely love the animations in sims 1 especially the pets, they're so CUTE and well done!
I remember that my computer would crash whenever I went to community lots, so I just never got to actually own a pet, despite having the pack for it. The majority of the time, I would either play the households that came with the pet as default, or I'd just look at pets longingly from my main family.
I love the variety of animals you can have in Sims 1 and I loved the cat chasing and killing the birds and fishes. Best game ever. Love your videos ❤
From what ive read to get first place it has to be an offspring of 2 well trained pets 😂😂😂 you never would have got it with anul 😅
No, you can do it with a first-generation adoptee! I was trying it today because I was sure I'd done it as a kid, and Ryan said we couldn't possibly have, so I had to see if I could! My Bug was straight from the adoption monitor (well, 2 sim weeks earlier, anyhow) and I did it twice in a row, so it's definitely doable! It's massively about timing on their mood though, so I think that's his issue! Honestly I probably tried for days before working it out as a kid... I must've for my brain to still store the info this far after, really.

The music is some zydeco. It's music inspired by New Orleans and the Cajun culture of Louisiana.
I still have all the music from Sims 1, it's the best.
Also, browsing through the game files I found a green kimono skin for a sim that never appeared during my game time. The possibilities are immense
Oooh I forgot about the dog shows in this pack. I do remember the Cajun zydeco music, though. I’d sometimes play the music from this pack on my Windows Media Player when not playing the game. It reminded me of the times I visited my cousin in Baton Rouge. I also forgot how many pets sims could have! I do remember it being chaotic with lots of pets, though. I’m pretty sure you did better than me at keeping them all alive as long as you did. I’m also sure the reason I don’t remember the shows is because I was terrible at trying to train my pets and win any level so I’ve just blocked any memory of it. So the fact that you did win anything I’m certain is an improvement over me. The Sims 1 is a tough game, but definitely a lot of fun!

Honestly I usually dont find Sims 1 content very engaging, maybe cause it was before my time (started playing sims 2 at age 8 as first sims game) or maybe cause of the nature of the game but this is one of the most engaging sims 1 videos ive watched so far, nice! I really wanna play sims 1, specially to make the same sim/person in all games lol but yeah i havent gotten it to work and have had to prioritize other stuff lately so havent tried again in a while

Agreed! I vividly remember my Sim breaking down in Studio Town and couldn’t get it to happen again. Ryan will have this happening within minutes I feel 🤣
I also remember the day I got this and it ruined the game for me bc it was too much for my computer to handle 😭😭 and i borrowed the other previous expansions from friends so I was SOL lol

First things first; thank you so much Ryan for letting me know where to get this game; I, too, remember when I first got it, and it's so lovely to yet to go back! Inspired by you, I decided to try and do this - just minutes ago I entered my first unleashed pet competition in a decade! Now I cannot prove that I did this as a kid, but I have photographic evidence of managing a blue ribbon today, so I'm guessing I must have, or I wouldn't know the trick!

So I know this is a weird place to ask, but Idk many people who play Sims 1 and I couldn't find an answer online. Does anyone know how I can take photos of my gameplay? The camera in the game makes the photos really small and print screen wouldn't work

Honestly, I don’t even remember anymore but she deserves all the hate I give 😂
I hated this expansion so much. The expanded neighbourhood was a must-have but the pets were so obnoxious. Even the pets just walking by would pee everywhere and the vegetable farming system was so lame until Makin Magic introduced those never-ending grape and elderberry plants.
Still, a great, funny video.
The decor -> miscellaneous section had a $15 or $20 sign that caused the pets to leave as soon as they entered the lot, learning about it did wonders for my outdoor room score :D

One thing I really disliked about having this expansion pack was that you never know what kind of personality your pet is going to have. At least in real life you can kind of control that. But in this game, if your dog was stupid out of the gate there was nothing you can do to help it lol. You just get what you get and it always annoyed me. And how it will say your dog has several housebreaking skill points but still pees in the house all the time 🤷🏼♀️😒
Is training a dog in the sims 1 like teaching a teen to drive in the sims 3? Lol
Sims 4 pets are cute but they don't have the personality these pets -- from a 20-year-old game -- contain.
