How would it be possible to do without the fan trick? You need to make money to expand the house, so how can you start with just one tile, without the fan trick?
@@TheMya1988 Ryan himself (jokingly) described it as “cheating” & said he doesn’t have the patience to do the challenge without “cheats.” This implies there is, in fact, a way to do the challenge without cheats. I simply said if he does find the patience, I’d like to see the version he implies exists. 🤷🏿♀️
@@naeshelle Buying something that increases in value is the only way. I think he was talking about how much he used it. It is impossible to do without buying a item that appreciates in value first. There is no room to place even the easel. Even if there were, by the time (or before) the easel starts giving money for paintings, his sim's needs/mood would not allow him to continue. There might be other items that appreciate in value that would take far longer, but it is impossible to do without an appreciation trick to get the expansion going.

I played a LOT of The Sims 1 growing up, and I never knew about the fan and couch selling at a gain! 😮 This is the first time I've seen this tactic for this challenge. Very cool video!
You could say your sims made bank selling fans and couches on eBay. He must have watched an alpha male tutorial “ten tips to make money without working”
If it's in the game and not a cheat code then it isn't cheating. Exploiting? Well the fan and couch wasn't an exploit either. An exploit requires the player to do something to make the exploit happen. Save before the magic lamp and reload until you get something good is exploiting the save system.

Love your videos (: I just made my own Sims 1 channel and have been using some dodgy file I downloaded like 7 years ago to make it run, but problem for me is it's 600x800 and id like to improve my quality slightly and was wondering how you run TS1 on windows 10 as you look like you've got a higher resolution than me? Don't suppose anyone who knows Sims 1 can point me in the right direction of where to go to download the full game? I downloaded it from a website a year or so ago, the game loads up okay but seems to come up with an error code when saving and doesn't seem to retain anything i do, anyone know how to fix that? I really want to play this game again lol

Sims 1 is the easiest sims game. I did a rags to riches challenge last week and got to 100k in a day 😁 but also I'm a sims 1 expert.
