I just realized why I like this song so much. There’s such an economy of words, it’s not very long at all so there’s a lot left unsaid, but you can infer so much from what is given. There is no fat at all in the lyrics.
I don't get how mediocre musicians and bands take the limelight from these guys. DKMs, Rumjacks, and Dead South, while good, don't have near the musical talent these guys have. They seem fake about their image as well, while these guys just shred the guitar, mandolin, and rip out genius lyrics. I guess these days, in order to get popular is have one of your 2 chord tunes on Netflix. The Dead South just seems like nerds who took the video game red dead redemption a little too serious.
