my dad always played this song in the car no matter where we were going, whether it was fishing or to my grandma's or just to drive somewhere. I finally learned the name of this song and i haven't stopped listening to it since.

This song inspired me many moons ago to get my rose tattoo and every time I see it on my forearm and every time I hear this song it reminds me of my little Irish dad and his twinkling blue green eyes. He was taken from me when I was 19. I loves ya fadder an misses ya every day

That line has always hit me hard. The only reason I would get a tattoo is for someone I really carry about. (usually passed away unfortunately) Haven't got one yet but when I do it will be for that reason.

Just lost my grandfather 2 weeks ago. Was hanging out with some friends the other night and my buddy puts this song on and tells me to listen to the lyrics. I lost it. So many memories of my grandfather started rushing through my mind.
I'm sorry for your loss brother my family has felt it a lot in the past few years it never gets easier my grandpa was Superman there wasn't a thing he couldn't do the week before he passed I was out helping him with his yard like I often did and for a while he matched me step for step even in his old age that man was invincible in my eyes it didn't seem real when they told me he passed and it really didn't hit me until his open casket showing at the funeral parlor to this day when I'm running the mower I feel like he's right there with me smiling he was the best

I would add a rose tattoo next to my Celtic cross in memory of my love and ex wife and mommy to my two amazing girls Chloey and Raegan ages 7 and 5. Maureen Alice O'Grady a very loved and an amazing woman. Unfortunately she isn't with us anymore but I will get my rose tattoo for her. And Dropkick I would like to say thank you. My favorite for a very long time. I've had many drinks with you over the years in the Buffalo area. This song means alot to me in many ways. Thanks.
