You need an Odisea 48 then.

Those exposed helms are an absolute deal breaker. There's no way a live aboard sailor/family would want to be completely exposed all day and night. This is a weekend boat or possibly a week, if the forecast permits.

The helm debate is always the most heated one! My perspective on this is that no-one is going to hand steer a long passage. You use the auto-pilot to achieve the best VMG and move between the helm and the inside nav station depending on the conditions. There is plenty of protetction under that big bimini over the open saloon/aft cockpit.
You might get wetter every now and then putting a reef in - but you can just wear a jacket, it's sailing. There are pros and cons to each helm position of course, but it's easier to read the conditions with the wind in your face with this "monohull" position, and you have everyone infront of you - that is easier as the skipper to keep an eye on the little ones or the four-legged ones. There are plenty of people doing circumnavigations in Catanas and Nautitechs with aft helms. Many install a back up auto-pilot as redundancy. That would be top of my wish list on a raised mid-helm cat as well, to be honest. Some want more protection with an enclosed helm of course (like the deck saloon mono option).

@@katamaranscom You can put up with a lot more, for short periods. There is a reason that most people sailing long term, want more protection. It just gets old and really, there's no real reason to punish yourself when there are other options. Other than the helm position, I like the boat and the garage options.

Beautiful catamaran with excellent fit & finish, but i do not think she sail fast enough, at least compared to HH, outremer & balance.

@@bisa34 won't match those boats going upwind in lighter airs, but approaching the performance of these boats off the wind in stronger conditions, they have done a good job on this model, sits somewhere between them and the heavier cruising cats

This boat strikes me as a whole lot of after thoughts in the design. Would not be on my list of boats to buy in the future.

@@Mordalo can you be more specific? I previously owned a N40 and from my perspective, this is a good evolution from that successful design
