- Set to the beautiful tune of "Greensleeves", "What Child Is This" is one of my favourite traditional Christmas carols. The tune dates back to (at least) 1580, with the lyrics for "What Child Is This?" being written by William Chatterton Dix in 1865. I hope you enjoy my rendition; Happy Holidays!

And it took a LOT of years for me to understand it. the point of the line is that we as humanity are ALREADY under YHVH Adonai wrath, and without this ManGod coming in my place and my future familys, we will ourselves personally face and receive this perfect just holy wrath- and unlike Him, I have my own incurable sin and sinfulness and would never recover. Only Jesus Christ Yeshua is so loved by the Father He would rend the veil of the temple in two to recover Him.
Only the Spirit of God promised by the prophets and the Son CAUSES anyone to have their eyes cracked open to realize the Laud he is due; and what an awesome line inviting ANY1 who is so moved to do so, as these 'wisemen from the East' were apparently miraculously led to do so long ago.

Greensleeves is one of the most hauntingly beautiful tunes ever written. Such a simple melody but full of so much emotion and the weight of history. Was always a favorite of mine to play when I needed to feel peaceful or calm. Beautiful job. Your voice is perfect for this style.

I have heard many versions of this song that range from really great to just ok. It really depends on how it is arranged, sung, etc. I think you did a fantastic job with this song!
