I was lucky enough to get a good photo of the Mountain quail at about 7,000’ above shavers lake thanks to Rachel Clark as she is a Bird Guid in that area . Congrats on your photo
I captured this one South of Shaver Lake, awesome area all up there through Huntington and higher. Let me know if you're ever looking for a photography guide specifically in this area as I know Rachel just does birding, I'll be hosting a Merced NWR day workshop soon :)
Wow, amazing birding adventure. At last you able to shot a beautiful image of the mountain quail bird. Good job, bro!!! Congrats!!! A big like for your video. Greetings from Singapore.
Thanks Lance! Glad I finally got some ones that I'm pretty proud of after 5 years of searching. I'm ready to take a break on these guys for the next 2, 3 years haha.
I've been birding hardcore for about 3 years now, and a lot of that has been in the Sierra mountains. I have heard Mountain Quail a hundred times, and have caught glimpses of them twice. But not even an ID photo to show of them ☹️ By you got some great ones of them 🙂👍 Big congratulations to you 🙂
Great photos and video. Now that you have the location they like to hang out in, looks like it might be worth taking along a small portable hide and wait around for a few hours to see what emerges.
Been after those once in a lifetime shots since my teens am now fast approaching retirement age Jeremy, and can still only count the successes on one hand - its all about patience my friend. 😊
Great shots! I'm in Arizona just west of Phoenix and we have lot's of Gambel's quail behind my backyard fence that have that similar beautiful blue color. Quail are so hard to photograph because they're so fast and skittish!
Really incredible shots and another captivating wildlife story!
Thanks so much Matthew! Honored to get to witness it 🙌🏻
Congrats, Jeremy!
Love this, what a great way to document those incredible shots 👏
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed ☺️
Great stuff man. Well worth the wait!
Another awesome video! So excited for the extended cut of your Norway trip that will hopefully be coming soon 😆
Thank you so much! I’m excited to release the Norway one too 😍 should be mid-October!

Same! They can be so tricky to actually locate, let alone get a photo before they are gone. Glad to hear you enjoyed the images ☺️
Great stuff dude
Thank you!!
Oh no way, such clear shots and video! Huge improvement from your fleeting views last time.
Yea it was a very welcome encounter! :D

Most definitely! Something I’ll probably try again in the future. Going to take a break for at least 1 or 2 summers first though haha

Thanks Jeremy for another great video, I have the same relationship with bitterns. Can hear them but can’t see em. Thanks
Thanks! Yea Bitterns are a hard one that’s for sure! 😂

Thank you! Yea those Gambel's are beautiful as well, never gotten to see them myself. Quail are definitely a tricky subject to photograph!
That was great Jeremy. Your videos keep getting better and better. Well done! And I'm very jealous of the Mountain Quail. Still need that one!
Thank you so much! Always trying to improve ☺️🙌🏻 hope you can get this bird someday!
