- I got a pretty weird DM and I didn't really know what to do with it.
I first thought that this was a normal discord DM ad that leads to a scam or just some silly server. But as I dove deeper and deeper, I realized that this message is not what I thought it was. Is it a sketchy business trying to spam people's DMs? Is it a scammer trying to make some quick cash? Or is it a sign from the heavens that I should play the most garbage browser game on the planet?

discord really gon focus on "new usernames" and "Parental control" while people be getting scammed literally everywhere, went from "for gamers" to "for scammers"

I actually played a few of r2 games before, in specific they have 2 mmos called "crystal saga" and "crystal saga 2" they were pretty popular years ago especially since it was playable straight from the browser thanks to flash.
Kinda sad to see a company relying on this type of stuff but i'm glad they're not doing actual scams or information stealing.
I played those and Dragon Pals back in the day. They were just money grabbers though and very P2W. Glad I didn't have a credit card back then because I definitely would've fallen prey to their tactics as a kid.
@@AnotherGachaAddict They were fine for the time besides the p2w and being able to play straight from browser was also pretty good, but now days? yeah we have much better alternatives, heck you're probably off downloading something like ragnarok online and playing it, which i did recently and i actually enjoyed it pretty decently.
I'm not sure if the company who makes the games knows exactly how their games are being advertised. Maybe they need to break off a partnership with an ad agency or two.

@@teamok1025 dude, it doesnt harm your pc at all, its just a setting thats not in settings, you just need to search your motherboard and the motherboard model and search how to enable virtualization on it

@@teamok1025 There's also Windows Sandbox with Windows 10/11 Pro. Might not be 10 actually, but it's extremely easy to use compared to VirtualBox. VirtualBox is good, don't get me wrong, but the convenience of Windows Sandbox makes me use it more.

This is actually pretty common in Asia. There are a lot of these crappy browser MMO games like this. They love to advertise these games as annoying popup ads on a lot of pirate and porn sites (I guess they're coming to Discord now too). They're not really a scam but I'd say they're more like mobile game ads that you'd see on facebook and stuff. Just really poorly made games that use anime booba and false advertisement to bait you in.
I generally hate people that use the "underage" emoji (Crossed out 18 emoji) to indicate adult content... It's called UNDERAGE and has 18 crossed out, so NOT 18 (aka LESS THAN 18)...
Like I seriously wonder where it started that this emoji means 18+... Like where?

randomly uses hacked accounts to send you DMs, the reason why they are hacked is because they downloaded "crack" from youtube tutorials. Sent to a game page and when you click play it simply autoplays and confuses the heck out of you but its harmless based on this video. no phishing..? wonder why they would do that- oh right affiliate marketing from CPA so they gain money on a harmless side)

I got the league of angels DM last month. Thanks for being brave and following the link, and even doing research on the company. I had no trust in it but was truly surprised that there were nipples on that pic and discord didn't filter that message

I honestly thought that they would just have a link that is similar to the one from the company that made those games and when you sign up it sends your data to someone and if you used the same password-email combo you used in the signup somewhere else they would have access to that account.

League of angels(the third one) is actually a game i spent a lot of time playing
its like a genshin, before genshin was created, and its for casuals
it's relaxing to just watch your character run around, and beat up people:)
That somehow really reminded me of pop-under advertising, which were annoying until the exploits that enabled them on the Chromium platform were finally patched out. (TH-cam user 'LiveOverflow' did videos on some of those exploits)
Edit: Those pop-under adverts included affiliate spam too.
Immediately recognized this when I saw the intro, banned someone from a server for sending this.
Oh so it's like Adventure Quest, but AQ was actually popular enough that they can just find people the good old fashioned way.

I mean they might be trying to steal your passwords by logging the password and email you use to sign up to the site. Since people use the same pass everywhere all the time they could use this info they could create a combolist and then attempt to login to other sites? It happens and just a thought
Man these adobe after effects scams have been pretty bad lately, i remember seeing someone get their channel hacked and replaced with tesla stuff a couple days ago, after they had it fixed they said that they had downloaded something similar

I think the guy's name was "a*" I am not sure but I think that's the guy that sent it.
The fact, any bot recommends every pay to win mobile game or any generic MMORPG game with fake advertisments in your Discord DM. Imagine getting DMed you by a bot making an ad of RAID: Shadow Legends or Bloodline: Heroes of Lithas?

That's also why URLs for scams change constantly. Once one has been reported and dealt with, another one appears to take its place. It's nothing they can stop. They at most can slow it down.

So, in simple terms, if I have this correct, somebody downloaded an adobe crack, got hacked, then the hacker was using the account to send links so they could get paid money for people clicking a game link for whatever website the game is on, that the game just kind of plays itself
i got one of these, but i avoided it because I knew that league of angels was godawful. thank you josh strife hayes for taking one for the team
TL:DW People get their account hacked, and the hacker use that account to for advertisements that make them money whenever you click the link.

2:24 The GMs are playing Dislyte and Oldschool RuneScape, so I'm sure they're legitimate, but their advertisements are obviously false. I'm certain they spam discord DMs because they're aware of how frequent gamers use discord, and also know how many simps there are.

Im only a minute in but in the words of Mutahar, I'd recommend you use a virtual machine to open up these scam websites or download malware. It doesn't seem like you are using a VM so I'm just putting out there. It's a lot safer for your TH-cam channel
