This Discord Server Controls my PC (with Malware)!

  • Well, the hacker can control your PC using a Discord server.
Discord scams are rampant on the platform. Whether it be someone asking you to download their beta game, sending you game cheats, or discord nitro generators, you will have a malicious file hit your DMs. And when you open up that Malware, what information are you really giving to the scammer.

Note: Please do not attempt to use the malware shown in this video. Due to the popularity of the video, the behaviour of the malware most likely changed to put your own PC at risk.
If you do end up downloading some sketchy exe file, I would completely reinstall your OS. After you do that, change all your passwords.
Also stop asking what malware it is and how to set it up. You should never send malware to anyone, even if it is to "troll your friends".

@@acesmetanoia its literally just a backdoor that sends info to dc server instead of attacker's PC or server, why would Discord ever have to explain that? Its not discord's exploit or vulnerability, its normal malware, do you need browsers and every chat to also teach you about every single malware in existence?
What they should do, is monitoring webhooks that are actively used in any keyloggers/login grabbers/token grabbers/server raids and other stuff, you can delete them yourself if you find malicious one using various websites, but it would be nice of them to just automatically watch those, will it stop attackers? no, they will just stop using discord and go back to using pc/server to send the info to, but it will make people use way less "easy" accessible malware, cause most of them would not use anything that has to run on pc instead of simply webhooking to server

I feel like some of these things could be used to assist other types of scams too.
For example, if they get the right bit of audio from the voice call (someone screaming or someone crying) then they could use it for the scam where they call someone and pretend their loved ones are kidnapped or in jail and demand money.

Ethical hacker here, I am honestly shitting myself laughing but also concerned, this is not a joke. This is what we call a "Command and Control" framework, or a C2. We typically send powershell/cmd module commands like the above demonstrates, and receive output, directly in a command prompt or self-hosted HTTP CMI client through various different protocols and means to avoid suspicion. With that we can steal passwords, pivot to different servers, keylog, spy, exfiltrate sensitive corporate data, set up more clever manual persistence on the server and escalate privileges in networks on an en-masse, multiple hundred machine scale. We use them to access everything at once and run large-scale attacks through that.
This isn't some low-grade funny malware for the sake of messing with people and stealing neopets passwords. We hackers use this stuff to compromise entire companies and server infrastructure. This, I swear to God, may be the next hot topic in terms of billion dollar databreaches. I'm not kidding, I wish I was. Some of its features are downright evil, ive never seen anything like it for Discord, just straight up VOIP-spying.
Its so clever-stupid to see people have managed to do the above but essentially using the Discord API as a way to obfuscate the source and destination of those commands. With a good dose of SOCKS4 proxies you could at least hide yourself so discord can't be sopina'd into giving your IP and personal information away, but all the contents of the server are open to be viewed since discord stores things in plaintext, so your damage could be reversed very easily if you're busted using a Discord C2.
Please, if you happen to be the channel owner, share a link of where you got this from to local authorities and Discord. We need it reverse engineered and tracked ASAP, and I would absolutely love the source code.

I’ve actually been scammed by someone when I asked hacks for a game. What happened was they gave me a file to download which was the exact same hack as the legitimate one. I downloaded it, and it didn’t work. They told me to just forget about, and left. I didn’t think anything about it but deleted the downloaded files just in case. Next day I found out that I’ve been sending discord messages to my friend even though I didn’t text him at all that day. He told me I gave him a hack link and he downloaded it.
I then checked windows defender and turns out the file was a Trojan and a sketchy spyware which was trying to access my microphone and camera (luckily I don’t have either). Windows defender didn’t remove it, and all antivirus websites were blocked by the virus which also hijacked my browser. The only solution to this it to get a clean usb stick, put it in another computer, then download the Malwarebytes installer onto it. Then plug the usb onto the affected computer and download malwarebytes that way. Run malwarebytes and the virus is gone. I gave my friend the same usb stick for him to get rid of the virus.

You technically *can* make insane rats that watch every second of your computer.
