Anyway, hickory like that has begun to lose strength, and you might want to think twice before using it for handles. At least, I certainly wouldn’t recommend using it for handles you plan to sell. The various subspecies of hickory are virtually impossible to distinguish just by naked eye examination of the wood. Go to Wood Database and look at the photo of a mockernut hickory board. It has the same off-white sapwood and tawny brown heartwood that is typical of all the hickories. By the way, you’re welcome for showing you this small tip on breaking down logs. I saw how long it took you and how much you struggled just to halve a single 4-foot birch log. Your Twitch feed is hard to watch in general, but that was painful!

Notice how I didn’t feel the need to rudely correct or disparage you in the comments, even though I saw you doing and saying things I know to be incorrect? Looks like you mostly do pretty decent axe build work from what I could see, even if it does take you forever. Your understanding of wood, however, is as low as your insecurity is high. Dunning-Kruger Effect in full effect on that front, I’m afraid! If you are doing the Twitch thing all day every day, that must be your actual job, right? You’re a professional content creator? Because I know there is no way you could make a living selling axes and handles with how slow you work. Your viewers do seem really friendly judging from the few comments I saw. And you yourself come across as kind, thoughtful, and encouraging -- the diametric opposite of how you behave here. I bet your fans would be shocked and appalled to see how you have conducted yourself toward me. Tell me, which of these opposite personas is the real you? I would be delighted to pop in on your Twitch feed, but only as an onscreen guest. And only if you agree to 1) let me read these many exchanges you have initiated in my comments, and 2) actually address the substance of my rebuttals without deflecting or going into personal attacks.

It does illustrate our dynamic perfectly, but you once again got it backward from reality. Actually, I’m Rogan here and you are Harris. The fact that you decline the offer tells us all we need to know of your intentions. I’m the one who wants the long form, uncensored, open dialogue with full disclosure of all the facts. You are the one who is scared to be openly questioned and have to answer for your ideas and conduct, and therefore declined the offer. And just like Harris, your campaign is a disaster because you consistently refuse to actually answer any of the questions put to you or provide reasoning for the ideas you push. I must say though, I’m impressed! You were able to somehow invert that dynamic in your mind and see yourself as the good guy defending truth and transparency - a truly stunning feat of mental acrobatics! Yes! Sometimes handles may have figured (curly) or interlocked grain, which are extremely difficult to deal with using blades. In these cases I use a farrier's rasp instead of a spokeshave to do the intermediate shaping.
Hey i have a question im a 21 year old from puerto rico and i make my handles how the old timers did them with a small machete and a knife and i just want to know how to get drawknife and carving knifes
