@@Deathmare235 same, but at least we got something. I thought they would just be dead and forgotten by this point. They had cool combos, but sort of fell flat compared to the other stuff they released next to. (Infernity, blackwings, Yusei's synchro spam/junk deck, etc.)

@@Deathmare235 its kinda funny that they basically have 3 of the same effect on basically the same monsters now (3 different phones that all have the same effect). Literally anything else would be great. Not saying that one isnt great, but we could get more than just the same effect again

The level 4 synchro has some nutty potential. With Auroradon combo you can:
Deskbot 1 + 1st Token = Earfon,
Earfon turn 2nd token to tuner,
2nd + 3rd token = Coral Dragon (potentially pop 1 card)
Coral Dragon + Earfon = Baronne
Draw 1 off Coral, Earfon equip to Baronne to attack twice
Well, no equip because Earfon only equips to Earths

That's a waste of effort to go through all that just for Baronne. You may as well Accel Synchro because you have a Synchro Tuner AND a Synchro monster.

The Spell that puts cards on top of your deck is good support with the level 1 Morphtronic that SS monsters from the Deck.
But actually, I’m really surprised that Konami remembered about the twins from 5D’s after denying their existence for years now.
Well can you really blame them? One's deck has been terrible for years except for being too old to make Hard OPT effects, and the other has no deck despite dueling 4 times.
(Man I hope they release Luna's Forest cards & Fairy Tale Fields from the manga. I mean, I know it'd likely be a mess to turn Forest into an archetype, but goodness she needs it.)
Were Aki’s Rose Dragons also from the Manga or a bonus from Konami?
@@digiing1992 Rose Dragons were technically an original thing, in that game-original cards made them an archetype, but Blue Rose & of course Black Rose were both from the anime. Why do you ask?

I love it! This is perfect for Morphtronics, although I hope Telephon doesn’t get banned because of meta abuse (though wouldn’t surprise me). Still hoping we get an actual Morphtronic boss monster (like how Speed Roids get synchros outside of Clear Wing), but otherwise they’ve done a great job with exactly what Morphtronics needed.
As for the equips, first thing I thought of was Bamboo swords - can change a Morphtronics battle positions, get a pot of greed and then trigger the Morphtronics alternate effect for lots of pluses.

@@ZackSavage I know what you mean, but they’re not really, at most they’re tangentially related - let’s be honest, equip spells have nothing to do with Morphtronics outside of having one.
Closest they get to actually supporting Morphtronics is how the new one changes battle positions, they need one that actually helps their gimmick/deck style

That opening combo is just duel wielding paddles with telephones on the ends and smacking your opponent until they get annoyed and leave

OCG is like, "Noooo Cannon Soldier bad" ignoring that you the problem is NEVER with actually bad burn cards and that boy is going to get abused by blue cards harder than Cannon Soldier.
It's like when Konami designed Infernoble knights, they knew from the start smoke grenade would be abused, they're just attempting to tcg and be like "come on guys, just do it, make me ban him like in ocg"
I think smoke grenade was super expensive for a while due to this

The length of time to win is probably a reason why they said f it. Roll, gain, verify, special, tribute the correct one, etc.

That's how you fix a dead archetype that was never good, give them one card that turns them into a one trick ftk.
@@sworddomo1951 master duel timer is so bad, i often cant even finish my combos because the timer, and this is with me going as fast as humanly possible. They made everything super sluggish, game is unplayable
Idk if unplayable, lv 1 tuners have a lot of searchers, the problem is the canon soldier
this thing would be used for degenerate halc combos that wouldn't ftk but would likely be extremely frustrating to play against.

@@satyayana1399 the game just keeps speeding up and forcing tactics and certain styles of play. Kozmo just can't keep up at all or do anything anymore. Was my favorite deck and now I just get mad when I play it cause I can't do shit
@@nikraa77 yeah rush duels is allowing them to take a hearthstone approach to the game which the game needed. They went to far to fast and now they have to give all these staple mechanics to all the decks that were right in concept but just not fast enough

Actually, the fact that convert unit puts the monster on top of the deck isnt a downside at all if you target any morphtronic but celfon and special summon him from the deck, its great
guaranteed special summon from his effect and lets you loop smartfon and telefon if they were the monster you putted on top
If it ignored summoning conditions it would've been a nice touch

Links made morphtronics better due to celphon and crew getting you tons of materials while using machine duplication. However, this new support might be a bit much when you use machine duplication along side it.
If we're just listing good Equips to put on the Power Tools, Duston Mop can be equipped to anything you don't want tributed for a Kiaju/Sphere Mode/Nib/That new FIRE monster that tributes your stuff to summon to their field.
Earfon is so damn cute I hope Konami would sell it as an actual merch. As a figurine or earphones, I would buy the heck out of it.

Cannon Soldier is legal in order to act as a proverbial canary in a coal mine: any deck with the 17 spare summons required for it to do anything useful is overpowered for other reasons, and having the outlet around will trick players into finding them for you. By Konami standards, it's actually pretty clever.
Telephon looks like it belongs in the appliancer archetype.

Not attempting to give Konami as a whole credit by this comment, but I think that the reason why they weren't worried about a HOPT restriction is because the Japanese and American offices are separate and the OCG has banned pretty much every burn loop card to use that strategy with. So the Japanese teams would likely weigh necessary restrictions around what they are told are locally applicable interactions.
Notices the synchros hairstyle...these are supposed to represent the twin duelist from 5D's. I wonder if this means we may be getting more Fairy dragon support then.

Everyone is talking about Canon Soldier, as if he would be the best way to abuse the new Morphtronic.
But you can so easily Link spam with this thing, if you get access to 2 at once.
Easiest way would probably be.
Either One for one, it in hand or Celphone + Machine Duplication equals infinite Link Material.
Turn 1 into Linkuribo, then revive the first one with one remaining, Link the spent+Linkuribo into a Link 2, use the revived one to revive the linked one, turn the newly spent one into Linkuribo either from e deck or with the revive of Linkuribo and then just repeat until you have a full Link field.
People bring up cannon soldier becuz it's a notorious ftk enabler. Why build an unbreakable board when you can just win in one turn?

Honestly I don’t see a reason why one deck couldn’t run both. So that if you can FTK you do and if not, you become a strong board. Like PendMagician or Frogs used to do.

At first blush with Telefone's effect I assumed it was a level 2, which lets it recur itself endlessly provided your luck holds.

You play Broken and Cursed Bamboo Sword. Pitch Cursed to search Golden or Soul Devouring bamboo sword. Gives you access to Pot of Greed or Yata Garasu from the Extra Deck, if you are willing to put up with running 3 dead cards
Telefon should have a OPT (It even ahs the "(1)" ). I don't know if they forgot in the Ygorg translation, or in the very same card text.

Morphtronics had to not get a HOPT because thats how Yugioh should be "yeah I said it" and it is a 5'DS era archetype to one of the most underrated characters, so fuck yeah welld deserved
Well...I was able to make people rage quit with morphtronic when link evolution was still commonly played. Also used to run the spam for fun at locals and did fairly well. Looks like I'm gonna be trying this again considering they just got more spam support.
