This is so heartwarming. I pre-ordered my copy of Hal's book, and l can't wait to read it. I have been practicing the miracle morning for 3 years now. As a special needs teacher, l am more grounded, compassionate, grateful, and happy. I have introduced mindful knitting to the other classes l teach. Students do a 10-minute journal when classes begin and listen to calming contemplative music while knitting. I hope this can extend to the rest of my school.
I don't like to read, but I'm trying new things. Never really listened to podcasts either. To me it seems weird. Like a people that watch twitch ... to watch other people play games ... why not play the game yourself? I mean to each their own. I'm not sure why I don't like to read. Maybe because I have to all day at work idk. But as part of starting to listening to this podcast, I have decided to just give it a go and try to enjoy it. But at the same time, I like audible. I know you mentioned many times the importance of reading, but does listening to audible count the same? Or is there something specific with the brain that makes it better to physically read? I think maybe I'm too scatter minded and my head is in a million places while trying to read. But I'm wanting to try to learn to speed read too so can't do that with audible. Anyways sorry for the ramble. I ordered the book on audible and cant' wait to get into it. Been making some changes in life in general but like always have no real plan. Looking forward to listening to your podcasts to figure out how to live. Thanks for all your good advice!!
Rob, I have a question I don't think I've heard someone answer. What would you say to someone who advises waking up when you naturally are ready to get up? Rather than waking up when your alarm goes off for a more "natural" awakening. Or would you say just go to bed earlier so you wake up naturally earlier? lol
I totally get what you're saying! Why should we have to wake up to some annoying alarm when our bodies know best, right? But then again, we don't wanna sleep through half the day either. So maybe finding a balance between the two is the key? Rick Rubin thought he was a night person for years but then he trained himself to wake up early.
Thank you for the podcast, so energetically and succinctly🔥
Amazing book. Miracle Morning is the book that kickstarted my personal growth journey. Thanks Hal and Thanks Rob for bringing him in the podcast.
