I have to pick on your husband a little bit. Volts don’t flow through anything. Current does. 😉 It’s precisely why all materials are a conductor. It’s only a question of how much voltage you need. Lol

I'll be honest, I've happily listened to thousands of hours of people saying the same item descriptions over and over again, and I will continue to happily do so for the foreseeable future. I know I'm not alone in this. But I think we've all earned some sweet, sweet, crackpot theories, including this one. Keep them coming!

This makes so much sense!! I always wondered why Gransax attacked, and the idea of hollowing the tree with lightning?!? That’s my head canon until proven otherwise.

@@MoxieWatts Post TotK while waiting for Shadow of the Erdtree, I’ve been trying to write down my thoughts on how all of ER fits together One of my biggest questions was how we got from GreatTree/Crucible to Erdtree, and your Gransax idea might be what I was missing! Why is burning the Erdtree the FIRST cardinal sin? Maybe Gransax was like “Queenie your age can’t last forever” and strikes the tree?? Makes me think of The Last Jedi when the tree on Ahch-To is struck and Yoda is like “it’s all good, things end!”

My interpretation is the inverse, that the beastmen assaulted those scholars in order to learn lightning magic.
Lansseax and Fortissax should be far above whatever knowledge the beastmen have, and they taught at Leyndell, the beastmen also use the clawmark seal, instead of the gravel seal, which is better due to the synergy the latter has with lightning, though the clawmark emphasised their bestial nature before GW granted intelligence, and, I assume, the metamorphosis to the modern day human.
Curiously enough, the Crucible Knight, battle compatriot of Godfrey there, is opposed to the beastmen, and will attack them, red lightning is also connected to their reddish gold weapons, funnily enough, and you could say that Omens, crucible incantations and Elden Beast have “draconic” features, all stuff from the previous Erdtree, Granssax was most definitely a powerhouse, possibly as strong or stronger than Placidusax, and, perhaps, wanted to reclaim the Erdtree for his kind, (so, Miyazaki, you could perhaps add a dream/past version of him in the DLC and finally give us the damn Sunlight Spear wink wink) which would explain why the dragons allied with Leyndell, and Leyndell accepted them as allies, the people in charge changed, but the foundations of “gold” were the same.
Regarding the destruction of the Erdtree, I kinda doubt it because we’re still dealing with supernatural stuff, you basically burn the entire tree, only to have it restored after, I just think the damage are due to the damage and changes it had, rune of death, shattering etc

  • @Zythryl
    @Zythryl ปีที่แล้ว +3

I do like the idea that a great electrical fire burned the erdtree from within. The erdtree being hollow has always been interesting to me, because any explanation for it is interesting: it was either always hollow, or it wasn’t at first.
My own personal crackpot theory, or headcanon, relating to dragons is… Lansseax. I think Lansseax is actually pronounced “Lan-so”, the same way “portmanteaux” ends with the sound like “toe”. It just rolls off the tongue better-“lance-o”, Lansseax.
I know “sax” means boulder but I say changing the sound doesn’t alter the meaning.
    Lansseax.

@@SarieldraLance, specifically female lance, which can also be interchanged with glaive, her signature move basically
Fortis, Latin for strong individual, I guess his signature having two ancient lightning spears and floating while doing so oozes power
Placidus latin for basically a chill individual, given he was sleeping and basically wakes up because you’re there to hurt him.
Gran a big/large something/individual, you can scale his skeleton and see that the other ancient dragons, Placidusax included, are like dwarves compared to him
Seax/pietra/ petra female form of stone
      Sax/pietro/peter/roccia male form

@@Sarieldrajust now seeing these comments again.
      So, yeah, “Lansseax”, like “portmanteau”.
But Gransax, Placidusax, and Fortissax, pronounced as they’re spelled. “Sax” as in “saxophone.”
I know pronouncing Lansseax differently breaks the convention, it’s just I personally don’t think saying it differently changes the etymological meaning of her name. Like, whatever, it sounds better.

@@Zythryl I like how we dug into this rabbit hole. I tested how their names would sound like in french because i thought it would make the 'x' silent. (used google translate, could be inaccurate)
      They're read in french as:
      Lanssix
      Gransax
      Placidusa
      Fortissa
To make them sound like a set piece, I make the 'x' silent while keeping the french pronunciation.
      Lansso
      Gransa
      Placidusa

An amazing theory. Here I thoght the game could not be more crazy.
Before i thoght they just set fire to the tree...as seen by the ash.
But now we got time traveling dragons, slaming into it with a lightning spear.
Blowing up the tree in Marikas face. And it only happend because there was
already a war in the feature. Man how do they come up with this stuff?

Great video! I'm trying to figure out how Gransax died. If your theory is correct and he caused the tree to erupt into a great explosion and fire, that might have been what kills him and he burned in the fire he created? I can't see any evidence he was defeated in battle.

Your crackpot theory is not so cracked pot as much as it is perfumer's bottle - lotsa spice 👌 Makes me wonder about Melina again ... Is she the spirit of the tree itself? She's "burned and bodiless", just like the Erdtree would be after a Gransax bolt!
