I'm so close to saving up enough for this beast. Running this on my 1080p MSI G32C4 is going to have insane fps results. I'm upgrading from a MSI Stealth 6GB 1060 version. I can't wait.
@mariussss8716 Yeah, it's not supposed to shutdown like I explained, I might have to replace thermal paste and its probably good to go again. Can be many reasons for this, not necessarily MSI's fault
@@penguinfriend it still overheats a little but it never shut down, i just bought another cooler iets gt500 which should do the job, Waiting for it’s arrival
Getting to the internals are so intricate and also it voids the warranty. MSI leaves no room for the convenient upgradibility and servicing the laptop. Share some suggestuons and tips and introduce tools so that the laptop vents can be kept cleaned without opening the hood.
Really want MSI Center to be a bit better. Too many clicks to navigate and the software isn't user friendly like the competition. Other than that I love MSI laptops
I bought this laptop 10 days ago and now I have one more oven im my home !!! Even while surfing in the internet it gets hot, in the game rtx 4080 goes up to 88 degree celcius and i9 13950 HX goes 99 sometime over 100. You can not touch the surfoace over the keyboard !!! Worse experience ever !!!! I tried evey solution and update including undervolting and bios update still same !
i just bought this but my light bar on the front of the laptop wont light up, how do i get it to work. i tried going to the steelseries app and playing with the light setttings but its doesnt do anything. I need help.
I had this one since December 2023, It freeze all time I’m playing a game like DESTINY 2 or OVERWATCH 2, I do not recommend it to competitive game or else… I’m very upset about those freeze…
yeah I don't know why MSi isn't providing details on this, I called them the other day to ask a rep and he said it's at 400 nits but I doubt it since they don't have it listed *anywhere* period which I find kinda sus. I ordered one and will receive it on Friday and do some testing. if the screen isn't adequate it's going back to Newegg and I will just end up with an Asus
@@joeg9244 That's Pretty Bad. The Strix Scar 18 and Blade 18 go up to 500 nits and also support Dolby Vision and are VesaHdr400 certified and cost about 650 to 800€ less.
The SCAR 18 and Razer Blade 18 are not within HDR/10 bit on the panels they come with. You need to do more research, they are the brightest panels for normal IPS displays. You're confused because the 16 inch Razer and 16 inch SCAR are the ones with the mini LED 1100 nits brightness/HDR 10 standard. the SCAR 18 and the Razer 18 are just normal vibrant 8 bit displays, not HDR. The SCAR 18 and RAzer 18 support HDR and dolby vision via an external HDR capable display. Also, 400 nits is not "bad" lol don't be so dramatic. The latest laptops until a few years ago for a loong time were using 276-300 nits displays, in fact most gaming monitors were prior to the HDR monitors falling in price and becoming more common. 400-500 nits is fanstastic if it's on a color accurate panel like the one on the GE78HX. Also, you're only getting DDR5-4800 on the SCAR 18, not DDR5-5600 nor are you getting PCiE-Gen 5 on any of those other laptops, only the GE78. So technically, if the GE78 features a 400 nits panel with those other features, it's the more capable laptop in my opinion. I would rather have a 400 nits screen with better and faster configuration inside than a nicer panel with cheaper and slower parts inside. but to each their own, these are "personal computers" remember that? the PC? yeah to each their own, buy what you want and what you think is best.
I got the ge68hx with i9-13980HX, 32 GB RAM, 4070 video with the 2560x1600 screen with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and 500 nits. It is a good screen but disappointing due to terrible backlight bleed and the absence of HDR...why? The Asus laptops are basically the same panels...also no HDR. OLED would have made it perfect. The speakers are passable, but not very good on the 68. The MSI Center software is terribly confusing and you have to figure out how to manually slow down the fans because the silent mode is never silent. Still some work to do on this...

@sukhpinderjitsinghkang2585 Why on earth would anyone need a 500 nit panel? Do you play games with sunglasses on? Anything over 300 nits is more than enough unless your screen is getting blasted by direct sunlight. Heck I have a 350 nit laptop and I've never come close to maxing out the brightness.
This is a functional question, I tried to connect a docking station to the back port then a monitor. It does not seem to work. But it does work on the left side port. It's both USB c any explanation?
Bought raider ge78 hx 13v. Settings blank out. I open them once, close screen. If I open it again I get a blank screen unless I shut down and restart. Then, if I open it, and close it with or without changing anything, it is blank again. Just spent $3700. for it, settings aren't working.
GE78HX has a wierd, childish design. I am an MSI user and ı was waiting that modal, but this design is not for me. I see that many people think the same, there are a lot of people who want to use these computers as a mobile work stations and you cant work with this computer in a serious environment. I understant that some design elements should show the gaming potential but this is another level. I guess MSI works with a lot of young designers and this product is not for an adult in any way.
That new matrix lightbar design looks fantastic. Catching my eye immediately.
Just bought it 2 days ago. Absolute beast in performace and elegant design.
How’s it doing now?
does it have hdr support

I'll never miss a beat with my Raider GE78HX RTX 4080 series. I found my desktop replacement in this 17 inch mobile super powerhouse! Thanks MSI!
I want the GE78HX but it's just starting to roll out. So excited. Had the GE66 10SFS and still love it.
Love the design so much, specially the lights in front stand out
Looking forward to the 6 speakers design for its audio experience. it's much better than other laptops.
Cooler boost 5... This PC been shutting down due to overheating since day 1, even when all fans are running 100% here
Never happened that to me, buy a cooler

Dear representatives of Msi, please explain why there is no g sync in such an expensive line of laptops???? Although competitors have!
The real raider
Very well explained, thanks

yes looks very powerful but im stuck with either with my 2012 HD 6470m laptop or 2020 mx230 laptop
How do you setup vr headset to connect to laptop wifi please?
Why didn't you guys make it 4k
The screen looks so gray.... is it only 300 nit bright?
Do you have any information about the GE78HX with an extended touchpad release date?
The guy in the video said you can run 3 monitors on the hdmi port??? how is this done? any advice?

MSI is known for their shitty software. Especially that Killer network. I delete it asap, all those utilities are junk and consume CPU and RAM.
hmm 16:10, QHD+, 240Hz, DCI-P3...the display checks all the boxes for me!
its missing mini led or oled tho. Some of the other new gaming laptops offer them
