I remember staying up late and watching his stuff when I should have been in bed. He really was ahead of his time if you think about it. So glad he's putting all these old gems on TH-cam. This is really cool.
I first saw Dave in the first UHF channel in the PH... afterwards I always on the look out for Dave... I love the 1st season theme music of the Late Show than anything else... Late Night TV is never the same without Paul & Dave...
And the giant stupidity of mankind. Although the milk cannonball was pretty awesome, I'll grant you that, and the apple-eating-juggler was a good trick too.
The bug eyed lady could use that for a super power, if she’s not satisfied at a store, or restaurant, etc. She could give ‘em some attitude then the bug eyes, the person would just creep out, yell “whatever you want or need just stop doing that!”
So glad they're putting these clips here! I probably started watching Letterman when I was 18 in 2007. Him and Late Night with Conan were such solid shows. Every episode had at least one amazing moment and the whole hour was fun to watch. The current late night shows have decent interviews but the rest is unwatchable. Do people even watch a full hour of Kimmel or Colbert every night?
I used to like Colbert the best among the current crop, but overall I think Kimmel is the best. There are more jokes per minute without all the conceptual fluff that Colbert and Seth like to use.
Thank you David Letterman for years of laughter and entertainment. There will never be another like you or Johnny Carson on TV again. Unless your son follows your path then we have hope.
I was there for the show in 1997 with Nicole Kidman and Gregory Hines. Dave had the girls from Hooters serve the while audience hot wings that night and I was actually on camera when we came back from the commercial eating my Hooters hot wings in my Late Show t-shirt.
I'm so happy I finished brushing my teeth before the clip got to that guy, or I might have been shooting toothpaste bubbles out of my eyes. I laughed so hard ... 😆
I was backstage at two of these segment tapings for 2 of my devised and selected SHT Tricks. Awesome experience. Was on the short list of Tricks with another new one just before the Show shut down. Hated to see it end .
Oh my dear dear David! I went deaf 15 yrs ago & saw you on Seth Meyers & was so excited to come here & see these old clips! But,sadly there’s no closed captions so I have no idea what’s going on!
There is a CC button on the bottom of the screen, right next to the settings button. I hope that works for you so that you can more thoroughly enjoy these videos.
These were all so great. Watching them in a Top Ten format was a gift. Totally luxurious. Dave, I just don't know how you do it. I would love to know Dave's IQ. Just for fun.
Ok nearly all of these make you wonder, just how does a person know to try that, putting a tarantula in your mouth and blowing bubbles, stopping a fan with your tongue. But my favorite was the little girl holding the balloon in her feet and blowing it up with her nose. That just screams "now go to your room and sit there with nothing but this balloon."
The only reason I clicked on this was to hear what Letterman said after the bug-eye lady... "Whaddya mean this cab doesn't go to Queens? BOING!" They left that out.
I wish people like you would've paid attention in 16 when a Russian plant stole Hillary Clinton's Presidency and committed such heinous acts of treason such as causing a pandemic that killed my beloved Mother and an attempted coup ofour government (still going) that real Americans know are more important than your entertainment needs.
Four that I’m surprised were not included: Guy removes bottom of beer bottle with bare hands. Guy gets inside giant balloon. Guy eats entire package of hot dogs in ten seconds. Guy swallows and regurgitates lightbulb.
Cannonballing the milk is one of the best. It's the perfect stupid human trick.
It was not funny - the guy almost cracked his skull and Letermann was clearly terrified.
@@LeelooMinai Worth it
@@odradekk lololololol
Indubitably any good stupid human trick should definitely leaning towards the stupid
that was easily the worst one. the rest were at least somewhat unique
Dave is probably what saved me from depression years ago. We need to laugh more and he is the best.
Couldn’t agree more Michael. As a kid from the 90’s that never really fit in Letterman was always a source of happiness for me. Dave is the best!
@@danieljones3782 but it was probabbly your fault you didn't fit i think you know that
@@adrianoadriano7772 that’s not helpful
Same for me but I'll have to stick with the memories cuz Dave lost his funny a long time ago. New Dave is too political now as well.
Craig Ferguson was in my opinion the best.

Same! When are they gonna show the velcro suit!?
Yup. I could have done so much better in high school if I wasn't staying up to watch Dave in the mid-80s
One memorable trick from the NBC years: Frat Guy changing his shirt while tumbling in a dryer.
The one that stuck in my memory was a guy singing "With Love From Me To You" (Beatles) as a duet ... with HIMSELF.
This here sums up the greatness of Letterman.
And the giant stupidity of mankind. Although the milk cannonball was pretty awesome, I'll grant you that, and the apple-eating-juggler was a good trick too.
What's great is that these are mostly equally as stupid as they are impressive.
The guy cannonballing into the milk is perfect.
Exactly these are stupid human tricks.. These are seriously impressive
The bug eyed lady could use that for a super power, if she’s not satisfied at a store, or restaurant, etc. She could give ‘em some attitude then the bug eyes, the person would just creep out, yell “whatever you want or need just stop doing that!”
i'd be calling agent kay from the MIB
It almost makes me nauseous seeing her do that. Maybe I need to bookmark this video for when I run out of Syrup of Ipecac
That talent would be great for receiving the check in a restaurant.
HA HA HA HA HA Still watching in 2024
Proof positive that aliens are here living among us. 😂
Far more entertaining than America's Got Talent

It's a different era now. There is so much competing with regular TV these days that wasn't 20-30 years ago.
Thank you David Letterman for years of laughter and entertainment. There will never be another like you or Johnny Carson on TV again. Unless your son follows your path then we have hope.
I'm proud to have managed to attend one of his last taping live, after years of admiration. I love Dave, he's a comedy genius.
I was there for the show in 1997 with Nicole Kidman and Gregory Hines. Dave had the girls from Hooters serve the while audience hot wings that night and I was actually on camera when we came back from the commercial eating my Hooters hot wings in my Late Show t-shirt.
Glad to see this channel, really miss Dave.
I love how Dave asks everytime if their all right?
6:28 The look of both disgust and amazement on Dave's face is hilarious!
Acrobatic archery was pretty rad!
Squirting milk out your eyes doesn't sound like it's that bad until you see someone actually do it.
I'm so happy I finished brushing my teeth before the clip got to that guy, or I might have been shooting toothpaste bubbles out of my eyes. I laughed so hard ... 😆
Equally as entertaining as these bizarre tricks is Letterman's hilarious reactions both to hearing what the tricks are, and then witnessing them.
I was backstage at two of these segment tapings for 2 of my devised and selected SHT Tricks. Awesome experience. Was on the short list of Tricks with another new one just before the Show shut down. Hated to see it end .
Very cool! What were your tricks?

By far, the lady who bugged out her eyes, was the best
I bet that bug-eyed lady has fun at Halloween!
Milk Cannonball was 10x better than I ever expected.
Great to see the stuff from the NBC show. Those were the days. Best TV ever.
I grew up in Indy and loved this guy from the time he was our local weatherman.
The bug eyed lady was Fcked up, man
If you don't want to turn out that way, get that blood pressure checked!
The music for the apple juggling was perfect
The guy that did the milk cannonball hit his head really hard .
The eye thing skeeves me out
4:19 She's amazing. It's her the 'Ta-Daaa', that kills it. 👍
the ceiling fan guy must keep his wife really happy
Guy cracking his head on the floor
Audience: Cheers! 🤣
Boy, David really enjoyed the apples guy!
bruh, the milk cannon ball guy is still in concussion prototcol. that was like a head first dive into the stage!!!
I had never seen the Cannonballing of the milk. Who comes up with that? LOL... That alone has me Stupefied....
Out of all of these #8 the acrobatic archer was the best.
that cannon-ball milk trick shoulda had a slo-mo replay
Letterman was the best
Anton Fig is the BEST at those drums! :-D Those drum rolls are just IT!!!!
Dave, you are great. Love you.
5:44 Human P̶e̶t̶ Tricks are the art.
Apple Juggler was incredible. Imagine what he could with corn on the cob
They need to make a movie with everyone here together like the Avengers.
This lady with the eyes 😂
The world is saved, hallelujah
This video made my day today:)
Wow, didn’t know you could learn so much anatomy from this show…
The acrobatic archer was amazing, but I have to admit, I left the most of the cannonball carton of milk
the bug-eye lady reminds me of the movie *_Total Recall_* (Arnie)
The BUG lady freaked me out 🤣 I I I
WE MISS YOU DAVE ... !!
The tarantula in the guy’s mouth, WOW!

@@bababooeymonkey6549 how do you know ?
the 90s en early 2000's were all about that fine line between "Showing a trick" and "hurting myself for entertainment"

This is the Dave I have loved for so long…I miss him so much.
Omg. I have never forgotten the guy who blew milk out his eye! Funny to see it pop up
Great TV , man i miss this kind of stuff
That audience reaction at the bug-eyed trick...scared a little but laughing 😱😝
That human helicopter was awesome!!
The tarantula: "Oh, no, not this AGAIN..."
I wonder if the cannonball guy has had both knees replaced, or just one?
These were all amazing stunts. The actual stunts were 100 times better than the descriptions.
6:50 - That's one of the Darryls from Newhart!!!

Find someone who doesn't like spiders and ask if they want to see someone blowing bubbles @00:51
Kimberly is my favorite , love her
The eyes have it.
very funny ! Hadn't had such a laugh in a while.
Poor tarantulas, everyone thinks they're dangerous but they're not. Still love ya Dave!
yep .. now if the guy would have used a scorpion, that would have been more interesting
This is why Dave was so great
7:37 - they forgot the "AH-OOOOOOOOGAAA!!" sound effect.
The only reason I clicked on this was to hear what Letterman said after the bug-eye lady... "Whaddya mean this cab doesn't go to Queens? BOING!"

I can imagine her on a date with an unsuspecting guy. He goes in for a kiss, and then BOING out come the eyes.
I love David L show wtf

Now that these are ranked, might we say that it counts as a competition? Asking for no reason...
Go Dave.
the female bow/arrow was fantastic

of course the dude cannonballing the milk is from Medford. They broke the mold! (truly no shade, it's just uncanny)
That last woman tried to snatch the ring from Frodo.
Charles Darwin gonna be so proud
Ow, that's gonna leave a mark! 💰💰
I wish late night TV was still like this instead of constant political commentary.

I feel as though the bug eyed lady had an unfair advantage.
It was so funny just to even see stupid pet tricks evolve to stupid human tricks. And the stupid humans came out in drones!!😭😭😆😆
The lady pushing her eyes out of her head had a small part in an episode of Malcolm in the middle back in the day she was one of the circus freaks
