I do this too. Lost a tooth on the chainsaw chain once. Hit my log holder tray table on the splitter with the saw. Tried to get that last cut perfect. Should of just moved the wood further out. Live and learn! Do you split your limb wood ? I usually do a one split and they make nice fire starter wood.
For limb wood you need a "Bow Bar" with a thumb on it. I use mine on my stihl 34 super, full comp chisel. All you have to do is burp it and your through. Oak-Ash-Maple-Madrone-Doug Fir. You ever thought about a Saw Buck, that way if you are off a little w/cut you hit wood, not steel on splitter.
It is so much safer an easier in the long wrong been doing that for years an you dont have to be in a rush just take your time but its also a great stress releaser cutting fire food great job keep up the great work an be safe
This is one of the best ideas i have seen yet
Working smarter, I like it.
At first I thought you were going to use the splitter to cut the limbs lol
Lol

The smartest way to save your back. Great idea and way to use the splitter. That’s worth another adult beverage. Have a great holiday.
Nice touch on the chainsaw Scheib and a good way to hold the branches!
Great tip. Gonna start doing that tomorrow. -Doug at NSF
Nice way to keep your tip out of the dirt👍 Honor and Remember🇺🇸
That's a hell of an idea!! Very safe too!! Alot better then putting your foot on the log and cutting! Stay safe my friend!! 🍻🍻
Learned something new today! Thanks!
No problem
Good idea for that loose limb wood. Limb wood is best cut while still attached to the tree - from little end to big end.
Yup
Good idea. I’ve done this with slab wood a few times. Sometimes with all the 1 inch thick slabs you can line up a dozen at a time. Have a great day.
Great idea!! Have a Safe Day
nice brother I do exactly the same thing with long limbs it helps a bunch using the splitter to hold it.
Do you have a link for that measurement tool?

Nice video! How long does it take you to properly season limbwood outside?
Great idea. I will do that this week

I like that idea. Limb wood is a pain to deal with.
I saw this a couple of years ago, use it to, works great
Clever clever from the thumb nail I thought you were gonna split it instead of cut it with the saw lol
Dude. That is really smart. Ever try it with bigger “logs”? Thanks for sharing.
Good idea in the wood yard.
Works great 👍
Should be called Outside with a genius , no kidding . Never thought of doing this . Thanks for the video and the awesome idea !!!

A simple sawhorse is what I use
