So I have IBS, so this situation is my entire life, lol. Dresses really are your best friend in that case. Also, high waisted stuff that doesn’t press down the painful part of your tummy. Swing dresses. Fit and flare dresses. A line dresses. Yup.

Same, i understand. My mom had it and I started getting acne and irregular periods at 13 so my mom asked her dermatologist friend and she suggested it’s probably pcos. It made me feel so horrible, i hated it because people would constantly either be really bitchy about the acne or I felt different somehow, since my friends also joked about it despite me telling them to stop.
I’m bloated from recent abdominal surgery and I just wear oversized t-shirts and my husbands sweatpants. Comfy as heck. But I find with period bloat the best thing I can do is wear a black dress and jean jacket. Makes me feel like a million bucks. Look good feel good ❤

The other day I rolled the collar down on a long sleeve plaid shirt, tied it around my waist facing forward, and wore a long cardigan. It looked like I had on a cute skirt! You inspire me so much to think outside the box just so you know 😊

I have digestive disorders so bloating is super common, I tend to do a high cinched of a belt, it makes everything else puff, gives me shape, and doesn't make me self conscious (I tend to prefer wearing cinched outfits anyway)

Agreed, I tend to have a lupus belly. I also had an emergency appendectomy and had another baby girl. I definitely have a fupa, but not because I eat too much. It was just a lot on my body. It's natural. I'm 5 feet exactly. Being short and chubby makes me feel like Eleanor from the chipmunks, but here. I like it here. Yalls are so sweet, and looking at these comments makes me feel better and more confident about myself. Love to you all ❤
Don't wait for the guts or the perfect occasion to wear your beautiful, sparkly clothes - just put them on and wear them down to the shops! I used to feel self-conscious about wearing different clothes, but the more you do it, the easier it gets. You can do it and your sparkliness will be amazing ☺️

That’s actually such a good point when it comes to the school uniform debate, it takes away those crucial developmental years of trying different styles, looking like a clown then realizing it a year later and changing it around until you’re finally happy with it. As much as people like to play it down, fashion is a huge part of society and to put together an outfit that is both appropriate for the occasion and also comfortable enough for you to feel confident, is a good skill to have in life I wish you all the best on your journey of experimentation, I’m sure you’ll be a fashion icon in no time! ;)

I have a couple of pairs of jeans that don't have the button in the middle, are one size bigger or are boyfriend style. Didn't think about maternity style yet, maybe because I'm on the thin side. When it hurts usually you would put a warm water bottle. When you are at work and have money to spend warming pads. I have a thin soft cotton shawl that I fold and put under the waistband of my jeans. Over this a sweatshirt that is long enough. The jeans hold the shawl in the right place. Because it is cotton it takes on body temperature and works as good as a warming pad.

These kinda straight shapeless dresses just dont work on most curvier women i think idk. It will hang on the wrong stuff and gloss over any shape and turn u into a box. It looks great on thin ladies like you 😩
If one is not very curvy on top and _(bloat bloat or just *life *)_ the tummy sticks out farther than the bosom, dresses like that are the death knell. 😞
I'm curvy top to bottom (us 22avg)... but there are absolutely sheath style dresses that we can rock. I have a personal favorite that's more fitted along the chest (sleeveless) and then floats out into an a-line stopping mid calve. I can belt her with something stretchy high or layer with a longer kimono/boyfriend/duster sweater ... looks great with the accessories to define the edges. Also, slip dresses are actually pretty fantastic... that shapeless 90s style can dress up and down even with curves. I buy with space to breathe. And well placed darts can be a curvy person's best trick. They are also easy to do yourself to manipulate a piece to fit us instead of wear us.

I have a health condition where sometimes (not often, thank god) I cannot comfortably put pressure on my abdomen. But I still want to look cute. So on those days I absolutely love a breezy sundress with some really big earrings and some pretty sandals!
One thing I like about my job: the dress code is scrubs. So they are baggy enough to conceal everything. Then I also wear leggings of some sort underneath. And if I'm having cramps but need to work I just put one of those hand warmers between my underwear and the leggings. Discovering that was a game changer.
i go right for the tunic sweaters. long enough to cover if im forced to loosen my pants a little, chunky enough that youll never see the bloat... or a thin heating pad. (hoodies with front pockets also work this. do what you gotta do to survive ladies)
I bloat like I’m pregnant (literally looks like a pregnancy belly) so unfortunately Lydia cannot always help me 😂 Instead, I wear a large skirt that rests higher on my waist, the poofier the better, and adjust my posture slightly so my belly isn’t protruding as much. It worked so well that when I actually got pregnant, nobody knew until the baby was out.
I go up about two dress sizes when I'm bloated so all my clothes are catered to fit that. On the rare "skinny day", I get to feel the joy of loose clothing
I wear a short dress with empire waist. Thights and boots, if it's cold, otherwise ankle boots or sandals. My legs are my best feature anyway, so I like showing them off. And no one will be any the wiser, as far as my bloated belly is concerned.
I go for a high waisted skirt that flares out because it disguises the tummy while highlighting the bum and hips. That or just a big pullover and jeans
My solution is usually comfortable pants - not to tight at the waist, but still tight at the legs to give the outfit some shape, a baggier top and a cute cardigan, usually cropped, to draw attention to the top of my body. And heels to appear taller and more balanced. But if I can get away with it I just stay home and rest :p
I'm an hourglass figure so I can't get away with clothes with no waist definition. I'll look dumpy, overweight, and/or pregnant. I've got some boho pants that work pretty well for bloated days. They're loose and comfy and black, and the waistband is wide enough to cover my whole stomach. The pressure is more distributed and gentle, so it doesn't feel as awful as putting on a belt might. On days where even that is too much I'll wear a tunic or wrap dress, turn on my heating pad, and try not to go anywhere.
Dressing the body we have today with nice clothes (like Lydia) and add the perfect accessories can turn our day around. We can feel good, look good & have a good day. We can all call on our own Lydia & a couple of her friends. Thanks Andrea for reminding us of friends we can lean on♡

Everytime I am bloated and I accidentally fart, I tell my son that I stepped on a duck. He is three, his reactions are very cute.

I have a health condition where sometimes (not often, thank god) I cannot comfortably put pressure on my abdomen. But I still want to look cute. So on those days I absolutely love a breezy sundress with some really big earrings and some pretty sandals!

One thing I like about my job: the dress code is scrubs. So they are baggy enough to conceal everything. Then I also wear leggings of some sort underneath. And if I'm having cramps but need to work I just put one of those hand warmers between my underwear and the leggings. Discovering that was a game changer.
Omg, I have 2 dresses that I do the exact same thing with! The cross-body bag helps to give it some shape. Wore one of them today 😊
i go right for the tunic sweaters. long enough to cover if im forced to loosen my pants a little, chunky enough that youll never see the bloat... or a thin heating pad. (hoodies with front pockets also work this. do what you gotta do to survive ladies)

Instead, I wear a large skirt that rests higher on my waist, the poofier the better, and adjust my posture slightly so my belly isn’t protruding as much.
It worked so well that when I actually got pregnant, nobody knew until the baby was out.

I go up about two dress sizes when I'm bloated so all my clothes are catered to fit that. On the rare "skinny day", I get to feel the joy of loose clothing
I have several diseases that make my belly protrude a lot. I am a big fan of the empire cut or dresses in A cut
I wear a short dress with empire waist. Thights and boots, if it's cold, otherwise ankle boots or sandals. My legs are my best feature anyway, so I like showing them off. And no one will be any the wiser, as far as my bloated belly is concerned.

I go for a high waisted skirt that flares out because it disguises the tummy while highlighting the bum and hips. That or just a big pullover and jeans
My solution is usually comfortable pants - not to tight at the waist, but still tight at the legs to give the outfit some shape, a baggier top and a cute cardigan, usually cropped, to draw attention to the top of my body. And heels to appear taller and more balanced. But if I can get away with it I just stay home and rest :p

I'm an hourglass figure so I can't get away with clothes with no waist definition. I'll look dumpy, overweight, and/or pregnant. I've got some boho pants that work pretty well for bloated days. They're loose and comfy and black, and the waistband is wide enough to cover my whole stomach. The pressure is more distributed and gentle, so it doesn't feel as awful as putting on a belt might. On days where even that is too much I'll wear a tunic or wrap dress, turn on my heating pad, and try not to go anywhere.
When I'm bloated I usually wear yoga pants 😢 I need something like Lydia in my life.
