At my gender reveal, I'm planning to poison the punch. All guests will have a choice between the pink and blue antidote. The correct choice is the true gender of the baby. There will be casualties.

Lets be real, the only good gender reveal that exists on this hellscape that is the internet is that one where they pop the empty balloon and while everyone is confused one woman goes "y'all done stressed me the fck out" and snatches her own wig to reveal the blue hair underneath. 10/10, best gender reveal.

This is why if I ever have kids, I’m finding out the sex the old-fashioned way: When it pops out. Before then, people are *way* too weird about my hypothetical kid’s genitals and what gifts they should get based off of said genitals. Like, “oh no! I can’t buy a tutu until I know it’s a girl!” ??? Then get a toy or something useful? “But should it be pink or blue?!?!” I don’t know, green? Orange? Black? God forbid I put a pink onesie on my infant son. That would just ruin him /s. Who cares, as long as it’s healthy? People are weird.

In my opinion (and also based on my religious thoughts), If one cannot do those things, it’s best they put the kid for adoption or not have kids at all.

I mean, in my family they all kind of tease my husband and I about having a girl because there’s been nothing but boys (save for myself) in my family for the last two generations but it’s more of a family joke. We’re all betting to see who breaks the cycle of boys lol. That all being said, growing up in a household of boys wasn’t an issue in my family because they always treated me the same as them. I hear stories about “the one girl” getting treated differently or even worse and I’m so thankful my family is so loving and supportive of all of us.

Imagine being a girl, going through old family archives, to discover your father straight up CURSED over the reaction of your existence. Personally I don't like the concept of gender reveals as a whole (making a huge deal over genitals sounds kinda useless to me), but getting genuinely upset over what sex your child is sounds a wee bit fucked up, wouldn't you say?
Don't have children, if you're not going to accept who your children are. (That applies to almost everything, sex, gender, sexuality, disability, etc). If you chose to take the baby to term and birth them, you "signed up" for whatever and whoever that child will become. Okay rant over

I'm actually pleasantly surprised to see so many people in so many comment sections recently agree that people shouldn't be allowed to raise kids without at least a psychological evaluation. You need to go through so much just to adopt a child that would take pretty much any half decent home over the orphanage, and clearly mentally unstable and unfit people can keep their children simply because they're not showing signs they're going to rip body parts off of them.

It’s nothing to have “fault” for. Fault implies it’s a bad thing. It’s not. It’s a satirical joke regarding sexual reproduction, my guy. Sperm is what decides the sex of the baby. Saying its “their fault” for the baby being a girl, is saying “your sperm decided the sex, dont know what to tell you” in an exaggeration way.
Other way to word this is: Men gives women’s bodies the blueprints to create those sex organs, they just don’t know what the blueprints look like. So while it isn’t inherently their fault, they still are the reason the child is going to be born a girl. Again, saying its “his fault” is an exaggeration displaying the irony of him being upset with having a daughter. There was an entire thread from someone complaining about this in the replies elsewhere.
It’s just a joke poking fun at a dads being overly emotional towards and (IMO) pretty disrespectful towards their unborn child

for all of you saying it's normal to feel disappointed by your children's gender and that there are things dads cant do with their daughters as they would with their sons, this is just bullshit. My father may not be the best father on earth, but during my childhood he was amazing. He would play with me everytime, play football, videogames, we would play with his car toys collection. He would cheer me up on any sport i picked up, judo, volleyball, even if it was ballet (which he also loved my presentations). One of the traits he most liked and still likes to this day about me is my competitiveness, he thinks its a strong personality trait and that its fun I hate losing. My mom for the fun of it went to some psychic for a gender reveal which they found out that I was a girl, that same day my dad beat my mom and claimed that the lady was a crazy liar and when it was verified that I was indeed a girl hell literally broke loose. Gender reveals aren't always bad, some of them are quite sweet but the best one I've heard of is from my coworker, but it wasn't even for a baby.
Her son came out as trans when he was about 13, and was really nervous about telling family and friends. So my coworker had the idea of doing a meetup with family and close friends to tell them all at once. They ended up making it a gender reveal announcement for him, having all the (non flammable) classics, the colored cake, the balloons, a pinata, even party poppers.
It helped him with his nerves and fueled his confidence lots. And they both love telling the story of it.

It makes me sad, because the general idea of a gender reveal party is pretty innocent. People are just excited about their child and want to share the experience with their loved ones. Even some of the more unique reveals are cute and creative. Of course, like so many other things, it has been taken so far to the extreme that it has been ruined for all. I know that there are plenty of nice, safe and fun gender reveals but I instantly cringe when I hear the word.

I hated how my dad was disappointed when my little sister was revealed a girl. His disappointment made me wonder why it matters so much to wish for a boy. Who cares? YOU HAVE A BABY >:( Not to mention I was raised my whole life as a tomboy bc of this and whenever I started wearing girly clothes I'd be made fun of. I have problems with my femininity. I'm trying to overcome the fact that my dad and gpa also made fun of me for having tiny lips, and this was a joke they started a decade ago. I can't smile without thinking about it every time. Thanks :o)

We literally just sat in the living room and ate bee themed cake pops that either had pink or blue inside (the whole family was there) and my aunt, the one having the baby, would eat the last one to determine the gender. No littering, no earthquakes, no poisonous gas, just eating cake pops.
