    Thank you for sharing this video. Helped me change mine on a 2007 Honda CRV. Mechanic told me the problem was the AC Clucth and would cost $800 to fix. After looking into it myself (not a car expert by any means) a see that the blendoor was stuck. Mixer/Actuator was not moving anything, saw your video, bought the part, replaced it, and now both the AC an Heater work good!!

    Great video, thank you very much. 2013 MDX, did not have to remove pedal assembly or foot duct. But I was prepared thanks to you!

    Thanks for taking the time to make a video and help others. I did not think I would be able to do anything about it myself until I found your post, and it was for the same car. Amazing DIY era we live in.
    I’ll share one pointer to make the job a little easier. I did not have to touch the four screws to loosen the feet air duct. I just manually removed the panel surrounding the vent as explained in the video, and the gas pedal.
    Unfortunately for me, my problem was not the air mix actuator, but the mode control actuator. I should have done more research.
    Plus, I ended up with an engine light for “Check Emission System”. My guess is that it’s because I turned on the engine while the gas pedal was disconnected. I’ll need to find a way to clear it.

    • @SandlotLegends
      @SandlotLegends ปีที่แล้ว

      What was your issue?
      For me. The blower works I get AC and when I switch to HEAT. It just blows air. Nothing HOT coming out.

    • @sceurty
      @sceurty ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SandlotLegends My issue was that the blown hot or cool air would not change zones. It would be stuck coming from whatever the last mode was (feet, defrost, center). I applied grease to the rail of the climate mode actuator that's located in the glove box. It still gets stuck from time to time.

    Great video helped me get part changed out. A national repair shop wanted over 500 to replace the actuator. It took me a few weeks because no one had part in stock. Part was 65 and took about 30 minutes to replace. Mine is 2009 Honda CRV and I only removed the gas pedal and was able to access the three screws. Your video showing to remove gas pedal saved me hours of frustration. Once this is done very easy access to replace part.

    F*#k! Yes! I just did it thanks to your video. Previously went to a shop because my heat wouldn't turn off. about $300 later they fixed it. I looked at the invoice and the part was for a passenger side actuator. I had no idea this crap was in stereo. a week later I realized all I could get was heat on the driver side. And I needed AC! One would think that the driver side might just be a little more important! HA! Thanks for the help! You rock!🤩

  • @j_reaume5248

    I know this is my exact problem on my 2011 RDX. My local shop was able to un-stick the blend actuator last Fall when the heat didn't kick in. So, of course, when we went to turn on the heat this year it didn't work. So, I'm gonna swap this out.
    If you went inside the guts of the part you replaced it is likely either some teeth on the gears are worn or the 12 VDC motor is shot.
    That comment from the person on the $800 charge to replace the AC Clutch for this issue is a typical car stealership or shady shop deal.

    That’s the control for heating vs cooling. It switches between hot air and cold air.
    This does not seem to affect which vent the air comes out of. This doesn’t change the air flow from, for example, your feet to your face.

    I noticed on the one you pulled off had lube on it (the white stuff?). Did you have to lube the one you put in and if so what kind? I'm not sure if my motor needs to be replaced or just re-lubed, it makes sounds like it's opening a portal to the underworld when it's on. And it kind of seems like it getting stuck, but not sure.

    • @SokhomGarage
      @SokhomGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there was grease that came off the old one, I didn’t re-grease the new one because it had some left over from when I pulled it, but I should have greased before putting on. And that sound is probably because it’s stuck, what you can do is take the part off, completely, plug the power back into it, and see if it makes the same sound while it’s not attached, if it does, you should replace it.

    • @SokhomGarage
      @SokhomGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Replacing the cabin filter would have definitely fixed that, also your blend door could be in a stuck position, probably have to find where it’s located and test it to make sure it’s moving properly.

      You can check the HCV first, there is a line that it’s connected to, and you can see it moving if you have someone sit in the car and toggle to heat and AC, if it doesn’t move, then it’s either stuck or clog, but you’ll need to flush the heater core if you’re going to replace it, because coolant runs through it.
