  • Have you ever noticed how a lot of knives are very similar in design? Although I appreciate the different nuances from one manufacturer to the next, It's rare when a knife company departs from that cookie cutter shape. Boker has done just that with this unique edc
escue knife and tool. In this video we talk about the various applications of this robust tool. the serrated edge as well as the glass breaker is put to the test. Will it live up to it's intended purpose? Special thanks to A-1 Johnson towing and wrecking co.

Great review. Have been wondering for a while about how useful a " first responder " knife or tool might be. As someone with some combat field medical training and volunteer search & rescue experience I can see how having a combination pry tool, cloth cutting blade and glass breaker could come in handy in an emergency. I prefer folding blades for EDC personally, but at the price this is offered at I may well pick one up for my vehicle bag or first aid kit. Thanks again for testing this for the rest of us.

Thank you! I appreciate your comment! You brought up some good points. This knife would be good to have in the glove box of a car, or throw in a bag. I can't put my finger on it but this knife intrigues me.
      Thank you for watching!

Agreed! honestly I wasn't too excited about it at first but since carrying it for a while and testing it, I've kind of warmed up to it. I was really surprised at the minimal effort it took to break that window!
Anyway, thank you for watching and commenting as always.

the pointy glass breaker looks to be a carry pain in the side. what do ya need that for when you're holding a chunk of steel. wonder if it can be ground off or pulled out/off. Sure sticks out of the sheath far. The wilson looked better though. Doesn't have much going for it. thanks

I have carried it and don't remember noticing any discomfort although I admit, it has been a good while since I have.
Glass, especially auto glass can be exceptionally durable in my experience. You'll even see people try unsuccessfully to break windows with hammers, crow bars, ect. It is amazing how much more effective it is to transfer the energy through an area no larger than a period at the end of the sentence.
It is a very odd knife and certainly isn't for everyone.
If I was hell bent on carrying a glass breaker, I would grab the Benchmade triage long before this tool but that is just me. You may not get the prying ability but definitely more utility and versatility as far as I'm concerned. Granted its 3x the price but... anyway, thank you for your comment as well as taking the time to watch the video!

It looks like a uncomfortable belt carry to me, for sure. Great for a rescuer. good video for sure. I'll just get another mora eldris and put a belt clip on the no belt clip sheath....it'll do it all for me versus this thing. THANKS.

I've used and carried this particular knife/tool EDC for awhile. There's actually no "pain" to the side carrying it due to the glass breacher BUT if you do not particularly like or want the glass breacher availability, it can simply be removed with a small wrench. Personally, I've found that the paracord attached does add a good measure on "protection" to your side if you're carrying this and leaning to the particular side a lot.
Another good and handy option, using the kydex sheath provides for a very secure grip on the knife/tool and allows the sheath to be mounted on a heavy duty Blade-Tech Tek-Lok belt mount allowing for a quick and safe reverse mount with the knife/tool mounted down, totally removing the potential hazard of the glass breacher stabbing in the side in a standard carry position. This is how I've been carrying mine for years now.
