now I've watched ALOT of TH-cam and a lot about making knives and I gotta say you my friend have the cleanest shop in existence. ..lol...I just had to get that off my chest keep up the good work brother
Amazing! You're inspiring a new generation. Just yesterday my kid asked me if he could make a knife and I said yes and showed him your old timelapse video where you file/grind the while thing. He was blown away it could be done with hand tools :) I told him he has to start that way then maybe when he's older I'll let him CNC on my machines.
+russtuff Hey Russ! Awesome man, I think it's great that he's getting into making stuff... It really shapes how you see the world eh! Thanks mate, glad you liked the video!
I've been lurking for a while now, watching the progress, but man, this just far exceeds expectations. I cannot adequately describe how impressive this is.
+Clickspring Thanks very much Chris! I take that as high praise coming from you mate! There's still a lot of work to do, but the process as it's seen here forms a great base to work from!
+Clickspring I agree with Chris awesome work. Your workshop also displays my kind of OCD or CDO as I prefer to say. You could be an ICU nurse with this type of obsessiveness.
Fantastic again. I can't begin to imagine how much time and effort was spent refining all the machining processes. I am also incredibly impressed with the amount of hand work that is involved after the machining process.
+whitechevtruck Thanks mate! It definitely took a simply huge amount of time... And that's ongoing as well as the process shown in this video is simply the first iteration, there are many more refinements still to come! There will always be quite a bit of hand work in the process! Unfortunately the machine cannot produce a finish that's good enough to simply coat over. The next version of the process I will be eliminating the belt grinding step in favor of better finish off the machine, and then some hand sanding to finish before coating. I think that will give me better overall consistency and lower chance of mistakes!
+Gough Custom you should do a video showing how to sharpen a foldable knive with only a stone, no rigs or lansky. I like a lot your job and the videos are awesome keep doing them
Really cool seeing this video and remembering the early tutorial videos of how to do the entire thing more-or-less by hand. That CNC must be the best shop investment imaginable!
WOW!!! #### WOW!!! You have came a long way my friend. And I couldnt be happier for you... You are a great person and even better knife maker WOW!!! I never seen so many machines to make a knife... That is AWESOME!!! You forgot to tell us the sparks from the best grinder go into the best buckets lol I love it mate!!! You took it to a whole new level! WOW!
+John K. Eich Bushcraft. Haha, thanks John! I'm definitely very happy with the new knives! I'll be even happier once I get a few more process improvements in and the whole things starts ticking over like clockwork!
Mate! Outstanding work and great looking shop! Been following for awhile and have definitely upped the game! As a new knife maker I'm floored! Keep up the great work!
thanks for taking the time to make these videos, i cant imagine how much more time it takes to document the whole process when you already how so much on your plate to finish all these blades. i also love how meticulously clean and organized your workshop is.
+Ragnarok043 No worries at all mate! There's benefits for all involved :) It does take a lot of extra time to shoot the videos, but I've gotten pretty used to it by now!
It must be fun to make the Machines do what you want and tinkering with them too perfect and make them turn out what you want them to. Each step is it's own perfection. And the game. How lucky. I bet you never saw it COMMING years ago. But I bet the machines are right up your alley as well as the knife making. ONE LOVE.
+hairfarmer07 I love the CNC machines man! This one especially given how much work I've already done on it! AS you guessed the machines themselves can be just as much fun as the knives :)
+Alex Lee Media I never get tired of watching it! When you get the feedrate right there's barely any noise, just a lovely low hum as it obliterates that steel!
Its been awesome seeing you build knives throughout the span of time, improving along the way, ever since the beginning it has been so clear the craftsmanship and care that goes into these. Amazing journey, and an amazing work of art. Thanks for sharing!
Great video! As a budding bladesmith this vid is pure motivation. The engineer in me loves how much effort you have put in to desiging such a good production line. What makes it better is your batches seem to have excellent quality! Great stuff!
+Tom S Thanks Tom! I'm very pleased with how the new knives are coming out for sure! Lots of tweaking is still needed in the process itself, but the result has been great!
You've come a long way since I subscribed to your channel, all for the better I must say, you produce a fantastic knife, one of which I hope to get my hands on some day, keep up the good work, all the best👍
+Gareth Ga Wilmott Thanks Gareth, much appreciated mate! I'm definitely very pleased with how the new knives are coming out. Easily the nicest work I've done, and they're only going to get better!
If I was ever in the market for a knife, I'd be ordering one of yours. Absolutely gorgeous with high quality, you can easily see just how much work you have put into this process.
+Geof Dumas Yeah man the air blast is awesome! Any reason you can't just run with air blade? Requires coated tools of course, but Maritool has good tooling inexpensively!
+Gough Custom partially from not having a good air compressor, but mostly because my handles are titanium. Coolant is a must, so it's not worth it to have both coolant options
Yeah it's much less forgiving than steels. It really needs a sharp cutting edge and the right speeds, but once you've got it dialed in, it's very nice to work with
+DCTTeacher1 Hey Az! Thanks mate, glad you liked it! Yeah things are going pretty well! A little slower than I'd like, but I'm slowly building up momentum!
I admire the passion you have in doing those blades. They simply look beautiful. The process is also awesome. The day I'll have the money I'll buy one of those Resolute knives.
+EKIM1428 Thanks for watching mate! I'd go totally crazy if the shop wasn't clean, partly because I'm a bit obsessive, but mostly because I would be losing things left and right!
It is great to see how far you have come as a knife maker and to see your process. The Mill has come a long way and I love the vice you have on it. Keep up the great work.
Man. Every step it self is a work of art. To impressive. So clean. Every step you can tell a lot of thought has gone into even catching small shavings , just every thing is so impressive. Thank you for Sharing your adventure with us. I hope you become very successful on both ends with knives and TH-cam. RIGHT ON RIGHT ON. ONE LOVE
what i like most in your videos is that you always wear proper safety gears . secondly cleanliness of your workshop from the beggining of your channel.
I love the look of your workshop, nice and tidy, designated space for designated tasks, can't wait to get some of your work in my hand in the new year, really does look impressive on camera
Great work, I haven't seen anything like this yet, thank you for working on this for so long, your knives look great! Can't wait to get one of my own ~GTC
I spend my life grumbling about "knife things" on the internet, and nothing is good enough for me. But Aaron Gough nails it. Most people who are into knives spend many thousands of dollars buying different knives before they find that ONE knife they really trust. If I could go back in time I would have just bought one Resolute, or perhaps two. His knives aint cheap but they are damn sight cheaper than wasting thousands of dollars on crap. If I leave home tomorrow and need one knife that I can trust my life to, Ill take my Resolute MkIII. I could have saved myself a lot of money if I had learned that lesson earlier.
men i really like what you do i have like 2 years watching your videos, and its really cool to see that you are now a full time knife maker , im getting one of those pretty soon they look like quality, just make sure to start shipping to mexico lol , nice work keep it up
I've been following you from way back and it's good to see your business taking off! The setup you have is very professional and the handwork that still goes in to the knives makes them a unique product. Keep up the good work and keep those videos coming ;) Greetings from Holland
Daaamn G!!!!!! you've stepped your game up big time. I can't wait till the orders open again.I missed the last round. Gotta have one of these beauty's in my possession
+Phillip Torres (45Bandit) Thanks mate! Yeah things are coming along nicely, working on the 3rd generation of this CNC process at the moment! Should be doing the next pre-order in late July!
Awesome. All of the Instagram updates failed to prepare me for just how excellent your new methods truly are. Really, really impressive! Thanks for the video, and keep grinding through the backlog, eh? If you ever make it down to the States Bay Area, the first beer is on me.
You do such awesome work. I've been following you long enough to say its been neat watching your progression. Keep it up. I hope to pick up one of your blades one day.
+buetang Thanks very much mate! I watched one of my oldest videos the other day and it's pretty crazy to look backward... Like going through a time warp!
I always enjoy watching your videos, I feel like I've learned along with you (although not nearly as much, of course!). I really admire your attention to detail!
+aznelite325 Really glad you feel that way mate! Definitely one of my goals is to spread what I've learnt... I think it's better if we all learn stuff rather than just me!
Yea, your shop is impressive as is your method. Much respect and I am extremely envious of the equipment in your shp. Fantastic work, really impressive stuff.
As usual, footage is awesome and your knives look superb. Your videos are really interesting and well done. It's great to watch how things are done and how carefully you do any task for the best quality. Definitely I will be ordering one of your knives, some day.
i have no words to describe how beautiful the work done is. i'm so jealous actually. wish all the best for you. i'd love to see a damuscus knife made by you.
So awesome , I like the way your channel has started with everything done by hand and it just keeps progressing to these awesome time saving machines. Very cool and interesting videos. Cheers
This is great, very nice work, thanks for sharing. This is a good video to show customers who wonder why they are priced higher than a mass produced knife.
+ncktbs Thanks mate! It definitely makes a huge difference to treat it as though I were planning to make a thousand knives... The production process is hugely complicated to setup and get right, so I have checklists and all sorts of other stuff to help ensure it goes smoothly... Still much more work to go on that front!
+Lester Nan Hey Lester! Yeah I'm not trying to go for full-custom knives anymore, my main goal is to make some of the best working knives that you can buy anywhere!
Always a fascinating vid from you and this one certainly doesn't disappoint. Looks like you're making great progress with setting your machines up (although I realise it must be a massive amount of work to get them properly set up!) Keep up the great work :)
hi Aaron beautiful work you have come a long way from the old vids me being a fitter and turner i can appreciate great skills and craftsmanship ,love the clean workshop to i have ocd to haha
Thanks mate! The sub-zero quench does not have a noticeable effect on all types of steels, but medium/high alloy steels and stainless steels can really benefit from it!
now I've watched ALOT of TH-cam and a lot about making knives and I gotta say you my friend have the cleanest shop in existence. ..lol...I just had to get that off my chest keep up the good work brother
+Scott Harrison Thanks Scott! I would go crazy if it wasn't clean!
+Scott Harrison I cannot agree more! The amount of white-ness in the workshop is too much for me to handle! LOL
+Gough Custom i tried doing knifes its so hard :(... how thick is your steal where do u buy it and can i do it manually
+Gough Custom I have to agree, I watch those vids for years and your working style, machine use and safety is better than any other I have seen.
+chibiebil Thanks mate!
Amazing! You're inspiring a new generation.
Just yesterday my kid asked me if he could make a knife and I said yes and showed him your old timelapse video where you file/grind the while thing. He was blown away it could be done with hand tools :)

I've been lurking for a while now, watching the progress, but man, this just far exceeds expectations. I cannot adequately describe how impressive this is.
+lazaglider Awesome! Thanks very much mate!
Wow! Awesome video Aaron, and what a slick production setup. The results from each step are just stunning.
+Clickspring Thanks very much Chris! I take that as high praise coming from you mate!
There's still a lot of work to do, but the process as it's seen here forms a great base to work from!
+Clickspring You both do amazing work =)
+Clickspring I agree with Chris awesome work. Your workshop also displays my kind of OCD or CDO as I prefer to say. You could be an ICU nurse with this type of obsessiveness.
cleaner than hospital.
5 stars workshop.
Great
+Wm Siu Thanks very much mate!

+Themoigt Thanks mate!
+Ryan Lerch Thanks Ryan! Yes it's been a crazy journey to get from there to here! I'm really happy with the VMC, easily the best purchase I've made!
WOW!!! #### WOW!!! You have came a long way my friend. And I couldnt be happier for you... You are a great person and even better knife maker WOW!!!
I never seen so many machines to make a knife... That is AWESOME!!!

There's benefits for all involved :)
It does take a lot of extra time to shoot the videos, but I've gotten pretty used to it by now!
I really love the scientific, precise approach you take. :)
+Roll Fizzlebeef Thanks dude, much appreciated!
That mill cutting through the blank is so satisfying, like butta'
+Alex Lee Media I never get tired of watching it! When you get the feedrate right there's barely any noise, just a lovely low hum as it obliterates that steel!
Its been awesome seeing you build knives throughout the span of time, improving along the way, ever since the beginning it has been so clear the craftsmanship and care that goes into these. Amazing journey, and an amazing work of art. Thanks for sharing!
+david184351 Thanks very much for following along mate! It's very cool to talk to guys like yourself that have seen the whole journey!
Let me tell ya your videos are as well made as your knives, I'll be saving my money over the winter to buy one of your knives. 👍🏿
+zackally828 Thanks very much mate! I appreciate the support!
Great video! As a budding bladesmith this vid is pure motivation.
The engineer in me loves how much effort you have put in to desiging such a good production line. What makes it better is your batches seem to have excellent quality!

+Gareth Ga Wilmott Absolutely mate, I've got some plans... Just you wait!
If I was ever in the market for a knife, I'd be ordering one of yours. Absolutely gorgeous with high quality, you can easily see just how much work you have put into this process.
+Gazpalli Thanks very much mate! I appreciate the kind words!
man, I would love to run my mill with just air. yours looks so clean without all the oil and chips stuck to everything :)
Great work!

It really needs a sharp cutting edge and the right speeds, but once you've got it dialed in, it's very nice to work with
Amazing progress. I watched your videos a couple years ago and did not expect all of this. Hat's off to you for making it happen.

I definitely want to buy one! The knives are so well made! Keep up the great work!

+Chemistry, Films, and More Thanks mate!
You have really refined your production methods. You have come a long way. Great work... ;-)
+Jeff Keen Thanks very much Jeff!
You need to memorize the youtube URL for this video. Whenever anyone asks why the price is so high, simply reply with the URL. Amazingly thorough job.
+slackador Haha, thanks mate! I just might do that!
This is great, very nice work, thanks for sharing. This is a good video to show customers who wonder why they are priced higher than a mass produced knife.
Thanks mate! Should have a new video coming soon showing my much-updated process!
i love how even though you're small batch your supper professional production about it
+ncktbs Thanks mate! It definitely makes a huge difference to treat it as though I were planning to make a thousand knives... The production process is hugely complicated to setup and get right, so I have checklists and all sorts of other stuff to help ensure it goes smoothly... Still much more work to go on that front!
Very informative on your process, tooling and techniques. Thanks!
Thanks for watching Paul!
+Gough Custom how can i order one and how much will it cost me.great job
Them tools!!!
Wow! Awesome job as always.
+silver blotter Thanks mate! Glad you liked the video!
That was great! All of those machines take away a bit of the "custom" feel for knifes. But a very great video man. Keep it up.
+Lester Nan Hey Lester! Yeah I'm not trying to go for full-custom knives anymore, my main goal is to make some of the best working knives that you can buy anywhere!
beautiful knife, what a great video, so much attention to detail, so jealous of your work shop
+Greg SB Thanks very much mate! Glad you like the video!
Always a fascinating vid from you and this one certainly doesn't disappoint. Looks like you're making great progress with setting your machines up (although I realise it must be a massive amount of work to get them properly set up!) Keep up the great work :)
+Matt Jones Thanks Matt! It is definitely a lot of work, but it's nice that once you get it ironed out the process can be repeated a lot more easily!
Brother your knives are awesome and your shop is very clean and tidy. Great videos too ! :)
+eran 19 Thanks very much mate!
Amazing job, you really have that process down in a small manufacturing cell. Great work man, if you ever visit Seattle hit me up.
