Hell Awaits is Slayer's 2nd best album after Reign in Blood. Best thrash albums ever: Slayer's first three albums, Kreator's Pleasure to Kill, Possessed Seven Churches, Exodus' Bonded by Blood, Destruction's Eternal Devastation, Sacrifice Forward to Termination, Sepultura's Beneath the Remains and Chaos AD, Death Angel the Ultra Violence. Yes, all 80s thrash. The best era.

Yes I washed it periodically :) I can't count how many times I have listened to these albums; they never get old. Best thrash albums ever. This is such a cool show. I wish more bands did this with their signature albums. You're telling me you wouldn't love to hear Tomb of the Mutilated live in its entirety?
I see them in Milan in 1987, on Reign in Blood tour...when Necrophobic started, it was total delirium. The concert I will never forget in my Life. Tom Araya forever! 🤟❤
that end part in raining blood with dave destroying the drums with that trash rhythm in 10x sick speed, tom losing his fucking head on that bloody heandbang, kerry and hannemman doing his impossible infernal ultrasonic riffs.. god, this is by far the greatest thrash band in the fucking world, the emotion, the concept, the violence, the energy, the skills, the blood.. at this day no 1 big band can beat slayer in terms of horrific grimiest brutality
Saw them '93 in Budapest. Machine Head opened the show. Still remember as my favorite concert. Tom had a smile on his face throughout the whole show. They loved it just as much as we did.
I was at the show, my mom bought me tickets for my birthday! The blood rain was a lot more visible in person. My mom works behind the arena and saw them testing the blood rig but had no idea what it was..
As a drummer myself Lombardo is a huge influence and one of my favorite drummers. His snare sounds AWESOME. You can hear like every ghost note and double stick flam shots he does so clearly on that snare even with all the loud chaotic guitar riffs playing over him. Blast beats would probably sound amazing on that snare.
@ruffnek It's not God, but some like to proselytize a fart if it forces their religion into the face of people who don't wanna hear it. That's where we are in 2022, eating religious bullshit whether we want to hear it or not. But THEY will claim they are persecuted. FFS, even on a goddamn Slayer video I have to hear this shit.
Went to see Slayer in London in the mid-2000s, the Astoria off Tottenham Court Road. They played a set with some recent material - God Hates Us All - and some favourites - from South of Heaven, Seasons in the Abyss. It was a great gig. They were physically intimidating, massive guys looming on the stage, the sound was enormous, just like Decade of Aggression. And then they played 'Angel of Death'... crowd thought it was the last song. But instead, straightaway, Piece by Piece, then Necrophobic, then Altar... and you realised they were playing the whole album REIGN IN BLOOD as an encore! At the time no other band had done that - at least not aware of it - although others have followed suit since. Incredible idea. Have seen some of the world's great pianists (eg Pollini), many live orchestras, operas, stage shows, plays, many other gigs and events (eg Metallica at Wembley 2007), but I still think Slayer were at the top of all the live performances I have ever seen, in any genre of music. Their output may not be 'musically' challenging but it is ridiculously fast, loud and physically exhausting, with an incredible impact. Their togetherness, their power, their drive, their accuracy, they were just unlike anything else at this point in metal history (other bands of this era had faded or disappeared for a while - they just kept on going and going). All 4 guys here were just unstoppable and amazing. Best live show I have ever been to, possibly will ever go to! An amazing performance, a model of thrash metal. Thanks for sharing!

I had no intention of watching this all the way through. I’ve seen them live and bought this album on vinyl when it was first released. But like Kerry said walking off stage, “That’s a fuckin’ rock show”. The insane precision, the relentless pace, the sheer musicianship, there will never be another Slayer. Tom’s demonic vertical bloody windmill gave me the shivers. He looked possessed!

See, now all you non-headbangers get the feeling right??? This feeling, the rush of the fast heavy metal, the messages behind the music is what drives the force that makes you get emotional when listening to it loud!! It was a joy to watch so many people getting into the music.

I see them in Milan in 1987, on Reign in Blood tour...when Necrophobic started, it was total delirium. The concert I will never forget in my Life. Tom Araya forever! 🤟❤
Slayer has been with me since the beginning of their inception. Slayer isn't just a band... Slayer is a way of life
They hooked me in early with Show No Mercy. I know every note of that album.
2:36 That part when Tom stares into the camera always scared me...
It's like Tom say to the camera man: ''Get the fuck off please''
Jota3214 Tom didn’t say that?!
Evillll
Porque es feo el weon po!
tom jumpscare
that end part in raining blood with dave destroying the drums with that trash rhythm in 10x sick speed, tom losing his fucking head on that bloody heandbang, kerry and hannemman doing his impossible infernal ultrasonic riffs.. god, this is by far the greatest thrash band in the fucking world, the emotion, the concept, the violence, the energy, the skills, the blood.. at this day no 1 big band can beat slayer in terms of horrific grimiest brutality
INSOMNIO Lombardo is a legend
Russell kemp FUCKING SLAAAYER!!
*Sodom*

Ivan Valdovinos sodom is pretty guud too but FUCKING SLAAAAAAYEEEERRRRR!!!

Here I am, on the 28th of December 2019, revisiting an immortal classic show

Мне 51 год. Я офигел от этого. Slayer - лучшая металл банда всех времён !
One of the coolest fucking endings to a show I’ve EVER seen. The whole encore was the entire Reign In Blood record. Non stop insanity on the floor.
Postmortem is one of my favorites. That riff is out of this world!
So underrated
Ya best song on the album
Mine too
You know you are watching legends at work when live sounds 10x better than the album.
Saw them '93 in Budapest. Machine Head opened the show. Still remember as my favorite concert. Tom had a smile on his face throughout the whole show. They loved it just as much as we did.
Это просто шедевр, вся музыка будто из глубины человеческого существа!
Slayer will ALWAYS be known as the greatest thrash metal band of all time
Yes
No sir they won’t
Megadeth has always been better
@@MrFrankello hahahahahahahahahahaha, just lemme laugh harder Hahahahaha!!!!
@@handicapsamurai7661 shut up bum
The intro riff of Jesus Saves is unreal... I think I listen to this live performance of Alter of Sacrifice/Jesus Saves at least 10 times a day.
I was at the show, my mom bought me tickets for my birthday! The blood rain was a lot more visible in person.
My mom works behind the arena and saw them testing the blood rig but had no idea what it was..
This is the best concert footage of Slayer ever.quality sound & picture up close to each member. Loving it.👍👍👍👍👍
As a drummer myself Lombardo is a huge influence and one of my favorite drummers. His snare sounds AWESOME. You can hear like every ghost note and double stick flam shots he does so clearly on that snare even with all the loud chaotic guitar riffs playing over him. Blast beats would probably sound amazing on that snare.
The only thing that would make it better for me is if it had a bit more of a crack but the snare does stick out and sound amazing.
It is not only that he keeps timing, it is the fillings that shocks me more.
Lombardo is the man - his timing is superb.
I met him at a Philm show. It was great to see him building his drumkit on a small stage in a little club. No technician just him.
Dave is the best Thrash metal drummer of all time. Not really even a question for me.
GOD BLESS SLAYER for shooting this video.. Their best album with the classic line up! Lombardo ain't human and RIP Hanneman..
@ruffnek It's not God, but some like to proselytize a fart if it forces their religion into the face of people who don't wanna hear it. That's where we are in 2022, eating religious bullshit whether we want to hear it or not. But THEY will claim they are persecuted. FFS, even on a goddamn Slayer video I have to hear this shit.
baronial. Don't think God have something to do with this.
Tom totally killing it.. going hard on vocals for 30 min.. talks perfectly fine immediately after.. right on..
Best 34 minutes of my life
Fuck yeah!
Anyone wanting more of the SAME! check out Scriabin. th-cam.com/video/bEbb_k-YnOs/w-d-xo.html Think you will find not just the black, but the white, and all the shades inbetween!
I love it when raining blood plays on the radio in gta vice city, best thing ever
Randy Emerson yea very good song but it doesnt fit vice city cuz thrash metal was still undergroung then
Embarrased to admit but that's how I discovered Slayer. I was 13 then. The soundtrack was perfect, I found so much good music through the that game.
BlackJack Lol who cares? Doesn't have to be historically accurate if it's badass.
@@maxdurk4624 Agreed. Been a Slayer fan since the early 1980's and they were a major influence on me deciding to pick up a guitar and learn to play ( yeah, I'm an old motherfucker )
Life hack: If you switch to V Rock at the very start of a new game (and why wouldn't you?) it will *always* play Raining Blood.
What a frickin amazing album!! I remember first listening to it in 1986....crazy....
30 years of REIGNING today and forever!!!! lml
Strangely relaxing. Long live Slayer
YES! For years now Slayer was my relaxation music! \m/

Slayer in Milan, 1990 has been my first concert ever. They began with Angel of Death, I thought I had died by the half of the song. It didn't happen, I am here still alive and bangin' at 49 y.o.
SLAYEERRRR!!!! This is the true lineup. No knock on Holt or Bostaph, they're beasts in their own right, but Jeff and Dave were Slayer! Long live Slayer!
This is one of the tightest live shows I've seen for music at this tempo. Sick.
Growing up in the 90’s Slayer & Pantera were always my top 2 metal bands . That has never changed. Started listening to them in 93 season’s album and worked my way back . So lucky to have seen them play live
I WOULD !!!
The fact that I will never be able to go to a Slayer concert infuriates me beyond words!
by far the most metal thing I've ever seen in my life
Lombardo has everyone avoiding eye contact. He's that intimidating of a banger. And he's Bored most shows. Flawless musician.
Slayer is the father of all brutal metal bands and always will be.
Hey DAVE, JEFF is banging his head in respect for you, I can feel that is true. Slayer did not miss a beat when you joined my good man. RIP, Jeff; you will be forever loved and missed among all who love heavy metal and beyond.
I remember well when I purchased the original vinyl back in the days. Still have it. A gift from the Gods!
It was not only the neighbours who loved to listen to this new lovely sound.
It was the complete neighbourhood..🤘
''Angel of Death'' and ''Rainning Blood'' are still kick ass songs!!
Melodic Metal TV Whole album is!
Postmortem transitioning to Raining Blood is the heaviest shit of that year
Necrophobic still blows my mind to this day.
@@LifeGrindcore Hell yeah. The whole album is great. Thrash metal peaked with this album.
Agreed
The only Slayer line up playing the best Slayer album
The power and energy in this show is about equal to the beginning of the universe. holy fxxk.
I can't believe this was live. It sounds amazing.
See, now all you non-headbangers get the feeling right??? This feeling, the rush of the fast heavy metal, the messages behind the music is what drives the force that makes you get emotional when listening to it loud!! It was a joy to watch so many people getting into the music.
My neighbors 3 blocks down, They love this shit..
While this was a great video...all I can think about is someone had to clean the mess up after the show lol. Love Slayer!
I have this DVD watch it at least once a month.. To my wife's dismay.
My girl is hatin this right now
Because it's one righteous-ass way to kick off a Sunday morning and because my old-broken-cantankerous-AF-Biker-ass has been a Slayer fan since the early 80's and I NEVER grew tired of hearing Slayer. Love this band.
This is how thrash is played.. even after 30 years of listening, it's still great music.Thank you gentlemen, thank to Jeff to heaven !!!
A banda mais foda do mundo. Destruindo tudo pela frente. SLAYER RULES
First time seeing this video so impressed!
LIFE LONG FAN!
There will never EVER be a show like this one. Glad I got to see them in 1985, 1987, 1992
Shout out to everyone. There will always. Be room for slayer over and out for now

This will always be probably their best performance since and after. Both Jeff Hanneman and David Lombardo were truly the driving force behind their fast and furious DEVILISH music.

i never understood why they dont play Crionics from Show No Mercy live anymore whwn i was 13 and first heard that solo it changed my life
John Mediate I feel the same about black magic
Martin Hernandez ive seen them 25 times and they usually play black magic
Crionics sounds a lot like Iron Maiden
Jaret Contreras Oh it toootally rips of Hallowed Be Thy Name/Genghis Kahn. Love it, but it does.
Same with Praise Of Death.
