I liked that the footage you're showing isn't just the intro parts of every game. You actually played it and sometimes show the mid-end game which is really nice 👌👌👌
"Saga3 - Light & Dark" is a remake of Final Fantasy Legend III and another great game. It not only has the improvements and polish of "Saga2 Goddess of Destiny" but includes the Spark💡system of the Romancing Sagas. Every weapon has a set of special attacks, the more powerful the attack the more weapon uses it consumes. (Just like Saga2 you can repair them very cheaply). Use the skills often or with more powerful weapons to Spark it and learn it permanently for all weapons of the same type, not just weapons have it equiped. (I understand not including it for an implicit "one game per series rule.")
Thanks. Wasn't familiar with many of these. Three more to add to the list. Chibi Robo Clean Sweep, Super Control Mecha MG and Game Center CX 2. All great japan exclusives with fan translations
Warning about Cross Treasures. It's impossible to beat the final boss, because you need higher rank of equipment/materials & higher level dungeon to leveling. To get access all of it you need online multiplayer mode, which impossible to do it now because there is no DS server anymore.
the whole game is kinda hard to get into, mainly because of glitches in emulatores and some things are just not that straightforward... Always tried to play the game but something always went wrong
An really fungame already "covered" here is Chibi Robo (insert long JP name here), the second title for the DS. Is so good, it feels its all the previous game wanted to copy from the GCN
I am a huge Dragon Ball fan and I have never seen that game! Definitely giving it a go, including most of the other games from this list. Also, I have been watching your videos for a while and I truly respect your passion for video games.
I was just going to say that. I love that game. Maybe they made it easier because I didn't have any trouble with it and I'm generally bad at rhythm games!
Elite beat is not Ouendan, Elite beat is the Americanized version , compared to Ouendan is Ok at best... Ouendan is a real thing to relate to, the "cheering squads" are real in japan, so are their moves and choreography, and the tracks are classic Jap Song from 80 to 90 s classic.. While Elite tried to maintain the playability is not as fun as Ouendan.. track for Elite beat are Ok-ish...also Ouendan is harder, and has an extra mode as far as I remember , you get the US cheerleaders or something like that and is a nightmare to beat them.
6:46 wish those type of srw frontier or project x zone games had skip battle animations as the attack juggles get stale fast. Each turn being 15 seconds+ didn't age well. Nice to know it exists.
played some of these thanks to the work of fans translating them, its shame they didnt get an officail relase. loved Saga 2 as well as Dragon quest, spent so many hours playing them during the summer and was worth it
Thanks for the suggestions😊❤ It's a Shame that none of these good games made it to the West but there are some games that had unofficial Translation like - Ni no kuni, Soma bringer etc.
I seriously love you man. Most channels say "here is a game you never heard before!" And then you look it up and it's the second best game of that year. They try to sell the most BS takes, but I can always count on you to show me stuff that nearly everyone doesn't know about?
The 2 Kamen riders game are fun. Both are rpg beatemup that lets you use each rider throughout the series... mostly. Some are limited but are still fun to play. Even has jumps, you need to do this list, to get more, but lucky there is a translated faq to help.
God the DS/PSP era was like a portable Saturn, both being absolutely great at 2D, and having quality sound. I think the DS got a lot more pixel art releases localized in the west due to Sony's no 2D policy, but as seen here, it seemed to be a bit of an issue with the DS too, despite Pokemon, Kirby and a lot of casual games being huge killer apps.
"Game Center CX 2" is a sequel to "Retro Game Challenge". Yet again you the player are taken back to 1980s Japan to complete the various challenges presented to you by comedian and star of the show "kacho" Arino. Just as fun and comedic as the original with more systems explored than just the one 8bit console. (All the original games of Retro Game Challenge can be played at the convenience store.) You might want to pick this up just to play "Guadia Quest II" the sequel to the "Guadia Quest" which was a *complete* jRPG that is homage to Dragon Quest II but with the full game design polish and quality of life of the current year.
I will add a couple more, sadly these games doesnt have any english translation: -Element hunter: An action game, a good one, there's also an anime in which both were made for the children to learn the periodic table of elements -TWO of the series "simple ds games": Sadly i cant remeber the names, but one was shooter using the pencil and the other was a an action one controlling a mech. -All the medarot/medabots games that stayed in japan
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 Professional in English? I know there was a menu patch some time ago, but I've not seen any full translations. I hope this is real.
Can you also do the GBA? My sister and I played a game called Hamster Paradise, basically a hamster petting simulator. It was really fun and has a lot of features.
Dragon Ball Kai Ultimate Butoden has been on my radar for a while now. I love DB and I'm planning to get it in the future. I've even heard that you can yell out attack names into the DS microphone to activate them lol! Sounds silly but fun. Jump Ultimate Stars is also fun but I've been a bit off and on with it. I love the sprite work but I've been satisfied with J-Stars Victory VS and (somewhat) satisfied with Jump Force so I'm not sure if I'll get Ultimate Stars right now. Shining Force Feather looks interesting! I like the Shining games, though I've really only played Tears and Soul. I do also have Wind, Resonance Refrain, and Force EXA. Might have to look into the others.
SAga 2 was fun til I found out that the robot runs out of ammo Would've loved to see further expansions of Jump Ultimate Stars Never finished Super Robot Wars OG but did enjoy the later Project X Zone games

There's missing 1 title. The one and only true sequel to Chibi-Robo for the GameCube. "Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! - Happy Rich Oosouji!" It's been translated with an english patch 👍
Out of curiosity, for these types of lists, do you consider games that got ported to the West on other consoles? Like, on the Vita, would Puyo Puto Tetris, Phantasy Star Online 2, SaGa Scarlet Graces, Dragon Quest Heroes 2, Zanki Zero, the Vita version of the first 5 Trails games, Catherine: Full Body, etc... qualify, despite all those games successfully getting localized elsewhere? Ditto for the 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI?
Dbz Kai got English translation though only the earlier part and menus. Summon night x got translated but it got a bug on one of the boss later that freezes the game not sure if it was fix now though. Just a warning on the english translated rom of jump ultimate don't put it on the r4 it Wipeout all my data trying to play it, says an error conflict on save progress.
