    Awesome video! I still love my Ricoh GRII and I’m fact I’m thinking of selling my Fuji X100V and that is me camera I said I’d never sell. I love how you printed out the Playback Feature but the other thing I love is if the photo was taken vertically I love how the camera knows when you tilt the camera in playback and it makes the photo full screen. Not even my Fuji cameras do that.

    The GRII goes everywhere with me and I've been able to capture some good shots with it. Having the camera around means I'm able to get the candid shots, the quick, blink and they are gone shots. I often challenge friends to a speed test against the mobile phones they have and GRII wins every time. I have three pre-sets and can shift from monochrome (my preferred choice to colour in seconds. I'm tempted by the GRIIIx- but that would mean carrying both cameras around with me............which is no bad idea......

    My brother! I shoot the Fujifilm X70 for all of these same reasons. I chose it for the flip screen and fixed (non-retracting) lens, but I got a big bit of dust on the sensor anyway and now I can't shoot darker than f6.4. 😂
    I like the positive film look so I'm always shooting Velvia or Astia style. I really want to try a GR because maybe you made the better choice.

    I bought the Sony RX100 (i) for 60€ used. It has a 1" sensor, f1.8 aperture on the wide end. I can't decide if im gonna switch to the GR ii. I kind of like the opportunity of using the zoom lens and I dunno if the low light performance of the gr is any better - larger sensor, but 2 stops less light. Oh yeah - and I can buy four Sonys for one GR.

    Hi,
    I would like to know how geotagging is with the camera connected to the smartphone and if the smartphone communicates the position in real time with the camera. I need to record the GPS coordinates in the photo metadata RIGHT AT THE MOMENT THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN, with the precise coordinates. It's important to me.
    Can you make a video?
    Thank you.

    It seems the GR II has a few benefits over later versions… namely the pop-up flash and the lower price point (especially for used). I think I’ll try to hunt one down, as your photos look fantastic.

    How’s the durability of the GRII so far? How many shots have racked up? I’m just worried about the lens retracting mechanism tiring out or something. I like how Nikons et al feel more robust.

  • @Dan-jg7zl
    @Dan-jg7zl ปีที่แล้ว +4

    There is nothing wrong with 16mp, that is enough for top quality gallery standard prints. The sweet spot for digital sensors is believed to be between 12/20mp range. Nikon engineer who designed the iconic D700 even said this. This is the reason why lower MP cameras have a more charming character to them. Problem now is that camera manufacturers are in favour of higher MP because it sells cameras. To be honest I'd love to see the fuji GFX produce a sensor that is still large, but with a lower MP count.

    I wonder if you can get low light performance with any APS-C sensor for street photography. Yes, you can couple with fast glass, let´s say at 1.8 aperture, but how do you zone focus? Does the GRIII solves these problems?

    • @Randuski
      @Randuski ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure if i totally understand all of your question, but the griii is pretty solid in low light. It starts getting soft at 6400. It's not great for sure. That's the one thing with gr's that i want to improve. I had a fuji xpro2 years ago, and it rocks at 6400iso. Griii, eh, not as much. But if you're shooting more stationary subjects, you can use the ibis

    • @zazek84
      @zazek84 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Randuski my point is that when you have f/1.8 your depth of field is super small. Thus you will set the snap focus mode to whatever, let's say 1.5 m for example, and then your depth of field will be razor thin so you won't be getting people in focus at all during night. Imagine being in the street at night trying to catch people faces. With fuji you can more or less do that because you can go up to f/2.8 (thanks to higher ISO) and get somewhat decent focus zone. Thus, night street photography becomes a challenge. Yes, anybody can expose a building at night with neon lights for 30s and a tripod. That's not it. We want to be able to catch Bruce Gilden motion stop without the flash at night!

    • @Randuski
      @Randuski ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zazek84 oh yea for sure. What's kinda sad, is my iPhone 14 pro does better in low light, even if you turn off the night mode thing. It has a sensor at least 1/4 the size of the gr haha
