I lived in a little float house in a remote Bay in SE Alaska for years and love the lifestyle. Mine wasn't so nice, being built on a log raft.

Why not build the base slightly larger so you can walk around the house and make doing repairs a little easier. It just seems odd to me to make it without any exterior space at all.

The foundation is made of multiple air tight pods , by enlarging the base it is more of a chance rain water could penetrate causing it to sink

No, they are not going to put the homes in the middle of the North sea... The homes are being put in a protected harbour ish, max waves maybe around 10/15 cm 4"

For those of you wondering why there isn’t a deck around the entire house, it’s going to be tied to a dock. The dock with serve as a way to walk around it.
Homes in flood zones should have these foundations, tethered, of course.

I would like to know what they used underneath the house, because all I seen was concrete around the base of the house?
the pontoons are concrete. it is also possible to build a boat out of concrete

Normally if your basement leaks, you have a sump pump. Here's it's a bilge pump

I ask the builder and the owner to look at your comments and see if they want to reply. There is one thing you viewers can tell me, and that is where did you find this video. Hardly anyone seems to search it out. You must be getting the link from somewhere? Can you tell me where... IN the last month I have double of views, so I am wonder why?

It just showed up in my suggested viewing feed and I have other channels on concrete and boating I'm subscribed to so the algorithm probably figured your video was a good fit for my tastes. And to some degree it was though I would have much rather seen a lot more about the build, why concrete floats and is good for boats, what the homeowner has to do to make the house livable (like how is fresh water pipes in, waste water piped out, electrical, heating, all that... stuff), what locations for such houses is suitable... all of that would have been more interesting to me... even a tour of the house.... than just seeing it slowly launched and then sailed away. Good work though for what it was. Cheers.

It is the TH-cam algorithms - I was watching boat launching videos, then this showed up as 'suggested for you'. Question is who turns them on and for what channels - over the years I have seen channels explode unexpectedly.
I often watch videos that show launching and perilous situations with watercraft. guess this fits that. Interesting video and comments. Would have been nice to get more info on construction and regulations involved
