the original lyrics is: "Nobody loves you like I love you Oh, my dear But you should've known That this was gonna end in tears" so it could be that someone or the AI used to generate the video didn't get it and mistook 😆 love to see you breakout on that error 😆
@Hit_me_Up_The_Justin_Hawkins ah ah ah it would be a pleasure even though I'd have some problems fully understand you because my English listening skill is definitely far from perfect😵
part of the reason they might have less synth/electronic sounds throughout is because the unfortunately they parted ways with one of the members who was typically on keys. He was also a big part of production and writing with oli for a while. it seems like it's all on good terms but I could hear a clear difference in sound with Jordan Fish being gone now. still a kickass song tho.
BMTH are so understated in the general ether of "music", they have only ever done sunday afternoon at glastonbury and they blew my socks off and one of the best live bands i've seen, they're still huge but they deserve to be bigger
Justin must have a real bone to pick with these guys lol. The passive aggression hits like a mouth full of wasabi. 🤣 Tbh I agree with most of this - the song is commercialized whitebread and generic af, lyrics prob ghostwritten by an angsty 8th grader, and they look like a Balenciaga ad. But knocking on them for wearing costumes? Coming from the frontman of The Darkness? “Don’t shit where you eat” comes to mind lol. Also amusing how he will commonly refer to something like an everyday 3-chord part in other reactions as “wow that’s really cool love that”, and does the same thing here, but utterly shits all over it instead. 😭 Nothing against Justin personally - I do enjoy some of his content - but I can’t help but say this came off a little petty and cringe. Like it was less about critiquing the music/band, and more about taking any opportunity to mock and criticize. I stopped watching most of his song reactions bcs they lost a lot of their authenticity to me. Seems he’s always either blowing smoke… or this. To the point it made me wonder if any of this is more “paid” promotion vs an honest, objective take. This video didn’t exactly persuade me otherwise. 💀
so i never really was much of BMTH fan growing up, then last year i saw them at download and they absolutely blew me away. Probably the best headliner ive ever seen at download in terms of the stage production and performance.
I think he's saying 'should've' but using 'of' instead of 'have' is pretty common in the area that Oli is from. I'm from that area and people at my work still do it and they're older 😂
Thank you Justin. Thank you thank you thank you. I fucking hate it when I hear shit like "should of" or "could of" IT IS APOSTROPHE "VE" IF YOU WANT TO SHORTEN IT. It's. It is. Could've, could have. Or if you want to be like me and the rest of the millennials, it's would-a could-a should-a. But it is NEVER "could of". I'm probably on the spectrum, with the amount of actual physical discomfort things like that bring me. Actually enough to ruin my day if used unironically. And even then. But yeah... my generation kinda (oh look another one... kind of...) fucked it up with the "coulda" thing. I can go on all day about words and pronunciations that borderline give me an aneurism. But this is neither the time nor the place, and no one wants to read that kind of rant more than I've put already XD
Way too far. It's not an English class FFS. its his accent. Somebody typed it the way he's saying it. Because he's from Yorkshire. That's how we talk. Good for you for being perfect and speaking proper England like I used to when I was a children. 😂😂
Dear Justin, From one middleaged rock-songwriter to another (I'm 53 and writing the songs for my rockband, Reverb Poets, over here in Copenhagen, Denmark): I don't think grammar is in any way important in music. Music is about making the listener feel and move, not about "...that's not English..". Some of my greatest, lyrical inspirators (like Bruce Springsteen) will write lyrics that not all follow what most people think is "English". Focus on the feelings and impact. Also, in order to delay coming across as old and angry............take a cup of tea and walk instead:-) Cheers Jonas
I always got hung up on another of their songs, 'True friends' with the lyrics, "I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you". Everytime I hear I think, "shouldnt it be were?" haha. still good songs tho

They are not that young either, they are between 36 and 37 years old. The band has existed since 2004.
*Thank you!* I'm not even a native English speaker and the "you should OF known" really grinds my gears... I tell myself "it's slang, it's dialect, respect the natural variation of language, *it's dialect!!!"* on repeat to calm myself 😂 (I myself speak a dialect of Norwegian that sometimes does nonsense things.) It's an awesome track nonetheless.
this being the heaviest thing he's heard from bmth... he really should take a step back and give their older stuff a listen just to see their sound change
I'm with you on the grammar error. I'm a Year 4 teacher and I noticed it on first listen too.
the original lyrics is: "Nobody loves you like I love you
Oh, my dear
But you should've known
That this was gonna end in tears"
so it could be that someone or the AI used to generate the video didn't get it and mistook 😆 love to see you breakout on that error 😆
maybe english is not the primary language of the person who made the video idk
Their streaming and attendance numbers say to opposite.
@@jelcoleys8087seriously why lie?
they have around 13 million listeners on spotify... they're currently larger than slipknot.@@wammyburger
1:56 The Lidl-Advert took me off guard haha!
Fellow German here xD
Justin must have a real bone to pick with these guys lol. The passive aggression hits like a mouth full of wasabi. 🤣
Tbh I agree with most of this - the song is commercialized whitebread and generic af, lyrics prob ghostwritten by an angsty 8th grader, and they look like a Balenciaga ad.
Nothing against Justin personally - I do enjoy some of his content - but I can’t help but say this came off a little petty and cringe. 💀
I'd love to see you react to a swedish band called imminence, the vocalist also plays violin
Where can I buy this guitar, man? So damn beautiful.
It's an Atkin? Think they're quite pricey. :0)
@@williamr3840 aww... thanks anyway!!
@@williamr3840 any idea how they call this color?
Made my day😂Thank you so much.
Hmm, shouty with bad grammar. 'Should of' annoys me almost as much as 'very unique'.
What about ‘should’ve ’ is that correct?
so i never really was much of BMTH fan growing up, then last year i saw them at download and they absolutely blew me away. Probably the best headliner ive ever seen at download in terms of the stage production and performance.
Not sure if you've listened to it, but I feel you might like some of the songs from their album "That's The Spirit"
People that comment "first" are total fannies
“Pin me” is worse. I suspect those are children.
@@SuziQ. Yeah that's another and I bloody hope they at least have the excuse of being children.
West Yorkshire dialect
Way too far. It's not an English class FFS. its his accent. Somebody typed it the way he's saying it. Because he's from Yorkshire. That's how we talk. Good for you for being perfect and speaking proper England like I used to when I was a children. 😂😂
if you google the lyrics to the song its "you should've known" so it seems to be just an error in the lyrics video
Justin Fucking Hawkins Rides Againnnnnnnnnnn! 🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶
Dear Justin,
From one middleaged rock-songwriter to another (I'm 53 and writing the songs for my rockband, Reverb Poets, over here in Copenhagen, Denmark):
I don't think grammar is in any way important in music. Music is about making the listener feel and move, not about "...that's not English..". Some of my greatest, lyrical inspirators (like Bruce Springsteen) will write lyrics that not all follow what most people think is "English". Focus on the feelings and impact. Also, in order to delay coming across as old and angry............take a cup of tea and walk instead:-)
Cheers
Jonas
I always got hung up on another of their songs, 'True friends' with the lyrics, "I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you". Everytime I hear I think, "shouldnt it be were?" haha. still good songs tho
Yup. Subjunctive.
