@@theawesomeman9821 It has been confirmed there was never a Robert's Rebellion prequel anywhere close to being greenlit. As for the Blackfyre Rebellion, I'd like to believe that we might see it eventually, either in Season 5 of House of the Dragon or as a separate series.
They really needed to do a series based on the Doom of Valyria. I thought that's what House of the Dragon going to be.
Disagree, I believe that story holds more weight when it’s maintained as a great mystery, I would prefer to just get snippets of info and let my mind wander on the rest!

Robert wasn't that fat when he killed Rhaegar. And Robert is part Targaryen. Both come from Daemon and Rhaenyra's lineage. Shireen talked about her ancestors without knowing.

Agree 100%- saying 'the show is the show, & the books are the books' feels a bit like a copout- a blanket excuse to deviate however they want, rather than where necesary (the ages of the youngest characters), or where it serves the story (behind the scenes details & politicking, which I can get behind- up to a point)
You kind of can't do Dunk & Egg imo, _without_ combining it with the Blackfyre Rebellions era- which is something with a long time between all the seeds being planted (back in the reigns of Daeron I, Baelor I, Viserys II, Aegon IV *&* Daeron II), & when the first war kicks off - you contrast the intimate, small scope of their travels- with the wider scope of what's going on in Westeros & at the Court (from the perspectives of figures like Bloodraven, Shiera, Daeron, Daenaerys, Daemon & Aegor).
They'd have to be much more careful with their time-jumps, & all the history they could potentially blow through- than they have been, at present - I think they should have extended s1 to 12 eps, rather than 10, & given the events & characters more time to breathe, but maybe that's just me...
If we get Aegon's Conquest as a series, I think Visenya would be my favorite female character ever. She's a badass and the first Targaryen to wield Dark Sister that Daemon will get.

I’m just gonna demand: I demand a show focusing on visenya. Aegon would’ve been slain in his own streets, castle and as a guest under the roofs of other lords had visneya not intervened on multiple occasions. Dany, rhaenyra, even daemon and aemond, none of them would’ve even been without visenya

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. GRRM needs to write a book, doesn’t have to be House Targaryen as the main family, but storyline that follows a powerful dragonlord family that may have been close to the Targaryens and shows the Doom of Valyria, first-hand. That would be epic! 🤔
*HEAVY* *BOOK* *SPOILERS*
The happiest times for Daemon are the years between the time jumps. They're off-screen. His 10 years with Laena and their twin daughters in Essos. He was at peace. His first 6 years with Rhaenyra in Dragonstone. Did you see how happy he looked about those dragon eggs? Never seen Daemon smile so big and look that excited. Fatherhood changed him. But this is a drama. No episode can be written if no conflict or fighting.
Rhaenyra will lose that third child with Daemon in her belly but Syrax laid three eggs. Perfect number for Daemon's kids so that's one for Rhaena, Aegon III, and Viserys II although the latter doesn't get a dragon. Rhaena will have Morning and Aegon III will have Stormcloud. Viserys II's bloodline will produce Daenerys and Jon Snow/Aegon.
I'm actually not even looking forward to Daemon vs. Aemond. I think most people already know who wins and GRRM is going to be pro-Daemon since that's his favorite Targaryen. If Aemond still had two eyes and fought on the ground, I'd still have my money on Daemon. The one I'm looking forward to more is does Daemon live or not? Did he get swallowed by Caraxes or Vhagar by accident? Body was never found.
I don't mind if they keep it a mystery forever. Let our imaginations run wild with it. But I wouldn't be too shocked if we do see a final scene of him in Pentos. Of course people will ask, why leave Aegon III and Viserys II there in Westeros? Question his fatherhood again. Perhaps Daemon will live in Pentos and tell Baela and Rhaena to help raise his sons there? They do act like loving older sisters to Aegon III.
Daemon seems to hate Westeros from all the political scheming as he told Laena in Ep 6 and never wanted the throne from Viserys or Rhaenyra. He's only back there to help Rhaenyra as he's all about protecting people he loves. All he wanted in Ep 1-4 was to protect his brother. But he got pushed away. That's why I believe if he does survive, he will return to Pentos and tell his daughters to help raise his youngest sons in Westeros.
Now this makes Daemon not give a damn about any of his children as he's about protecting people he loves, right? But where's the war by that point? Most of them are dead. He can also be losing an arm or something. Only way they can make him live on is if he's living outside of Westeros the way Laenor got written. Wouldn't disrupt the book's canon. Daemon would need to hide really well next to Nettles if he lives in Westeros. Obi-Wan only stayed hidden for 10 years until Vader found him.
Daemon is supposed to die before Rhaenyra. But people estimate Rhaenyra will die by the end of S3. If we have 4 seasons, the final season and series finale may NOT have Matt Smith and Emma D'Arcy. I don't know how that final season and series finale gets carried when two of the most popular characters are eliminated? HBO isn't going 100% by the book. It's obvious they will alter some things. But I don't see them altering Rhaenyra's death.
The Dance of the Dragons lasts from 129-131 AC. Daemon and Rhaenyra die in 130. There are still more events that follows their deaths....
- The Moon of the Three Kings
- Battle of the Kingsroad
- Aegon II's Death
- The False Dawn
- Hour of the Wolf (this involves Cregan Stark)
- The Regency of Aegon III
That final season will be interesting. All the major characters are gone. Otto got beheaded. Criston gets killed by archers. Alicent is imprisoned and eventually dies in it. Aemond is killed by Daemon as his skeleton was found with Dark Sister through his last good eye years later. Daemon is assumed dead. Rhaenyra gets eaten by Sunfyre. Larys will eventually die.
We might lose Daemon and Rhaenyra as early as the end of S3 or no later than mid-S4. Rhaenyra will NOT be in the series finale and who knows what happened to Daemon if he got to live the rest of his life with Nettles in Essos? If he does survive, why did he leave Dark Sister in Aemond's eye socket? Get it back. Baela, Rhaena, Aegon III, and Viserys II or Daemon's children are the only ones introduced in S1 who survives this war.

I woupdnt mind GRRM overseeing an anthology series on different Targaryens/Valyrians. Would be a decent opportunity for him to flesh out underutilized characters or create new ones we havent seen when covering the pre-Doom era.

It actually works in my opinion. It never said that the Targaryen would kill the knight king it stated they would reunite the kingdom. And it was two Targaryens that united the kingdom. A prince and princess that was promised. Without John snow then aria would have never fought that hard. And it took Dany to unite the rest to help to fight. So In my opinion they are making it work

From my POV, I believe most of the time he is. Blood and Cheese was cold-hearted but I find it redeemable. Yes, it's war. Aemond struck first. Daemon only ordered it. Aemond did that crime without remorse. Daemon has higher morals but lower ethics. Aemond showed neither to Luke.
Here's the thing, if Viserys had just listened to Daemon since Ep 1 or 4, none of this Alicent crap or bastards rumors would happen. Even Matt said it. It's like Daemon needs to shake his older brother and tell him, "I love you, bro. I'm trying to protect you! Wake up, man!” But Viserys refused to listen.
Blood and Cheese is no worse to me than what Tywin and Walder did to the Starks. That was much worse including stabbing into a pregnant woman. Was it wrong? Sure. But I find it retaliation. It's just unfortunate Helaena fell victim to it.
I think if Daemon never ordered Blood and Cheese, people will still whine how nearly perfect he is. How he's this badass Gary Stu. People are just haters. Whoever is popular, they want to bring them down to look smarter than everyone else.
Just enjoy the characters whether they're flawed or not. If they want to nitpick everyone, that's on them. But I could care less of watching saints interact. HOT D is no monastery. I want to see unpredictable characters do bad things to each other.
Didn't Anakin Skywalker redeem himself 23 years later after he *massacred* children? He obviously had to deal with that penance after getting burned and decapitated.
It's interesting how people can hate someone popular when every single person who were non-fictional were flawed. Name all the mistakes Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, and JFK all had as POTUS. When Queen Elizabeth died, people on Twitter cheered.
Almost anyone or anybody flawed can be hated. You can be Jesus Christ and people won't believe in him. A great character to me isn't just who is the biggest badass? If this was the case, then Khal Drogo would be my #1. But he isn't because he wasn't all that developed with a ton of range.
Everyone will try to find qualities that will make them like that character. My brother likes Steve Rogers because he looks for the character with the highest moral compass. I'm a Tony Stark guy because while I think he can be a douchebag, I find him way more charismatic and likeable than Steve. He's still heroic and does care for others even if he doesn't always show it.
We all look for different things in characters we like. My preference is charisma mixed with being a BADASS. An alpha who is fearless. Someone funny and charming too. That's Jaime and Daemon. Some will prefer more of the Jon and Robb. More serious. What's so wrong liking flawed characters like Jaime or Daemon who committed crimes? Daenerys committed crimes. Aemond will.
We're not looking to love only the innocent "saints" in their cruel world. I prefer Han Solo over Luke Skywalker. I prefer Darth Vader over both of them and Yoda. I prefer Batman over Superman. I prefer Loki over Captain America. I prefer Cersei over Daenerys. Bite me if I prefer the ones with the more flawed personalities and the darker heroes/antiheroes/villains.
Rhaeger Targaryen is my favorite, problematic, I know but can't help it.

Knowing how GOT ends, the fact that HOTD keeps bringing up the prophesy of a Targaryen prince or princess defeating the White Walkers HAS to mean that the prophesy itself isn’t true, rather a paranoid Targaryen putting his own house and blood at the center of history, assuming that his bloodline will be the savior of the realm. All this proves how paranoid Aegon was and made others, and just how wrong he was since we know we kills the Night King in the end

I feel the statement on targeryen madness is so exaggerated ,like at most 5 targeryens went mad and all their cases could be argued especially Maegor.He is written in the history books as senile and vicious yet all hi actions had reason.if the targeryens want to consolidate thir power they should cut down any challenge to them that's simply what Maegor did.

And most of the targaryen kings were inadequate or worse.

The prince that was promised was obviously Jon Snow, I don’t understand why feminists and other woke factions don’t seem to want to accept it. “ from my blood comes the prince that was promised” so it’s obviously not Arya. It could have been Daenerys but she was assassinated by Jon so it’s unlikely she was the princess that was promised and some say she was the threat to end the world and not necessarily the night king so that leaves Jon, who united the north and the free folk against the white walkers and got Daenerys on his side along with her dragons and army so he was certainly the one that lead the fight against the dead.

Team Green fans are so happy Daeron the Daring exists and think more viewers will sympathize with the Greens. How? 🤣 They have Aegon II, an alcoholic rapist. He's going to unite the Seven Kingdoms? They have Otto and Larys, a manipulative homewrecker and a psychopath. They have Criston the incel.
They have Aemond who hasn't killed Luke in cold-blood yet. This is worse than Daemon's Blood and Cheese because Daemon only ordered it. Aemond killed Luke cold-blooded. This is Aemond with all the time to think about it but committed the crime anyway. I do feel Daemon should've killed Aemond over Helaena's eldest.
There's no path for me to believe that more people will sympathize with the Greens after Blood kills Jaehaerys. The Greens drew first blood. They destroy more kingdoms. Green supporters are delusional to believe we'll care about them after Helaena commits suicide and Daeron gets killed.

Um, Daemon barely says anything. 🤣 Maybe when he was 31 and no kids yet. Aemond got triggered from a giggle and he's calculated at age 15? I don't think Daemon fears Aemond at all. If Daemon did, Aemond's head would already be sliced off at that dinner table. But Aemond stans are coming up with the most delusional reasoning for their inferior character.
Do you really think someone like GRRM is going to make Daemon lose to someone like Aemond knowing he's a fan of so many of these characters he writes including Daemon who he loves? GRRM is biased.
Look at all his favorites from his stories he writes. His favorites are like Tyrion who they whitewashed by S5-S8. He loves the Stark and S8 was the apology letter to the Stark children after Ned, Cat, Robb, Rickon, and Benjen are all killed.
GRRM's fav sword is Dawn. Fav dragon is Balerion. Fav castle is Winterfell which is where The Night King was killed by his wife's fav character, Ayra. He likes the BEST ones. GRRM has lately been obsessed with Targs and why not? They're a fascinating family to follow.
I bet GRRM was thinking about Jaime and decided to clone him but inject steroids. That's Daemon. Good and bad with steroids to make him a greater wildcard. GRRM basically merged Jaime and Tyrion to create Daemon. Oberyn is a lot like Daemon too but not quite as developed. And MCU Loki is similar but not really a badass.
What makes us think he's going to make Daemon look terrible when he's his fav Targ? He gave him the most epic death scene. HOT D is going to be pro-Daemon because that's the character GRRM loves. It's HIS story and characters that he penned. The outcome is whatever GRRM wants it to be. We're just watching his story unfold.
Between Rhaenyra vs. Aegon II, Aegon II technically does win. But look who dies. All his siblings. His grandpa. Criston dies. Larys and Alicent will eventually die. Rhaenyra spared Aegon's life which costed her own life. Blood from Daemyra really wins. It's their bloodline that continues through Aegon III and Viserys II. Baela, Rhaena, and Nettles also survives.
Daemon's four children who didn't die stillborn all survive this war. His lineage is really the winner from the entire Dance once Aegon II gets poisoned. And Daemon's death is still in question. So maybe he's the real winner of the entire thing even though he loses Rhaenyra, Caraxes, and Dark Sister...
