My dad has a DV8 winch bumper for his 12 Silverado and an old Rough Country 12k winch. So far has held up to daily use and pitting or rust for about two years now. Compared to my ancient RLC Fab bumpers on my 98 ZJ build which need a full sandblast and paint
Thanks for sharing
Heck I have rust on my mopar factory bumper and sliders. Guess that’s part of playing on the rocks! Thanks for the review
That's right..
*Our Lexus GX460 DV8 bumper was a nightmare and tore up the sheetmetal on the vehicle*
Thanks for the info.
Hi Bill, Loved the video. Thank you for the content 😊
Great! Thanks for watching.
Love your content and I refuse to go back to that rusty pot metal. 6 months on the DV-8 equaled rust and pitting, 2 years on a OEM Mopar bumpers not one bit of rust.
Understand we dealt with rust on our first one, but I have to say this one seems to be much better.
Recently found your channel. Been watching when I can. Seen you have KY EM plates. From KY 3544P Thanks for the great videos!
I'm glad you found us. Thanks for watching. We have both been in emergency services most of our lives.
Very interesting and informative review thanks. I do have one question has the winch on top of the bumper “vs” down in the pumper caused any problems with air flow to your radiator? Thanks
It has not. Thanks for watching.
a good consideration for a future build. Thanks for sharing...... I see your rolling Smittybuilt as well. seems to be a good choice..
It had been until last week. It all the sudden quit working its 15 months old also.
@@CoddiwompleOverland I've already burned through two of those Badlands winches myself. I've got trailers that I haul my equipment on as well as a side-by-side and the first one I burned up the electronics on it and the second one the reverse gear got jammed. I think they were 9,000 lb winches. Both junk. Both bought from harbor freight. Not recommended. Just an FYI if you're ever for looking for a placement not sure that's the best quality of course I kind of knew that going in lol
OVS is coming out with a winch. we're going to try it out.
The 1st time I watched your videos of the JK. I noticed the bumper and how It looked and I Immediately looked it up to see what it cost. Although a little too much At this time but definitely looking at DV8 or smitty built .STIILL hoping to hit the trails maybe west Virginia with you guys if and when you do
That would be great great.
I’ve had one for two years. 6months in, loads of rust spots. It still is a solid bumper and looks great. Just terrible quality coating
Our first one 4 yrs old has rust spots also, still solid like you said and terrible coating. Hoping this one last longer.
That's the best review I've seen in a long time... Right to the point.
Time to put DV8 on the Bronco
Thank you!
Thanks for the vid! I’m considering getting that same DV8 front bumper for my JLUR. I have the trail cam like you. How’s the field of view with the bull bar and winch? Do you happen to have a screen shot of what it looks like? Or a video?
You can see it, but it's not bad. Send me a message on Facebook, Instagram or email to contact@coddiwomple-overland.com and I'll send you a photo
@@CoddiwompleOverland thanks!
Your welcome
I saw a couple years ago a few people had trouble with the FIT of their bumpers and DV8 was not very helpful.
Thanks for the info.
What made you decide to go with the Mojave instead of Rubicon? Really enjoy your videos!
The Mojave was better suited for our travel type with its reinforced frame and its cast-iron steering knuckles. The Mojave is built more for rough roads and the Rubicon is built more for rock crawling. We did not need the 4 to 1 transfer case or a front locker.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Thank you for getting back to me. Makes sense.
DId you have to use the DV8 spacers for your bumper / winch installation?
No we didn’t use the spacers
Does that bull bar get in the way of your front camera?
You can see it but it does not block your vision. Send me a message on Facebook or Instagram and I'll send you a picture
What lights are in that front bumper?
Factory lights.
Construcability?
🤦 should have used a different word for "how well it is constructed "...

🤔 I like it. 😁
Bill is from Kentucky. I am from Kentucky. I speak the language fluently. I understood exactly what he was saying. In the modern world you have to be fluent in more than one language. 😆
Right! 😂
