    I have that exact bumper on my JL. It took me 3 different purchases for the light bar to get one that fit perfectly. If you're having a problem finding one, look up Rough Country 12" light bar. It was a perfect fit and looks/works great! Hope this helps you or anyone else interested..

      Vincent, thank you for that pro tip. I have been looking for the right light and have asked a few people that told me a 13" or 14" would work, but when looking at the measurements I didn't think it would. I will look up your recommendation for sure. Cheers and thanks for watching! Love this bumper BTW, so great choice!

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The end caps (winglets) and bull bar are completely removable, so you dont have to use them if you don't want to. The winch plate itself is bolted to the frame, so should be okay, but not sure if there are any structural issues by not installing the bull bar. I would send an email to Smittybilt just to be sure.

      Yasser Aloy the bumper itself doesn’t. It’s the winch rope to be specific. I’m also using the larger 12k winch. There are some smaller at 9k and 10k that may fit a little better. Also, use the spacers. I didn’t.

    27:02 I noticed on new videos you have, you don't have the Bumper side Wings anymore. What happened, you didn't like them or does it rubs with the tires? I'm looking to buy them for my Jeep but more for extra protection, do you still have them, and if so, will you sell them to me?

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good eye! They are back on there. Typically in the summer we do a lot of wheeling and I take them off for more clearance on the approach angles.

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I forgot to mention the most important part why I take them off. They make it easier for me to disconnect my front sway bar. I don't have a Rubicon, its a Sahara, so I have to do it manually. When the wings are in there, you have to get under the bumper to disconnect. But in the "winter" I put them back on as we don't do a lot of wheeling.

    My wife and I installed this bumper with a winch. Took about 12 hrs. Wired my cubes and winch the next morning, all kinds of issues to numerous to mention. Inmo this really shouldn't be sold to fit a JL and I contacted Quadratec to voice my complaints. Without some more engineering I would avoid this bumper.

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive

    • @shmercy
      @shmercy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      But what did you zip tie them to? Seemed like there was no space in the inside of the bumper to zip tie it to. Also do you have a pic of where the spacers go? The directions were absolute garbage. You're video has helped as I barely know what I'm doing hahaha

    Not sure if you’ll see this, know the answer, or even reply but I have a question for you or anyone else that sees this. I have a JL sport S with no lift, 33 all terrain tires, and stock suspension/springs and I want to get a steel bumper but I’m worried about sagging or it being too heavy. Should I upgrade my suspension or anything before I throw on a aftermarket bumper/wench? Only asking here because I like your videos and your build and I can’t find any actual answers anywhere. Any advice would be much appreciated!

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, a steel bumper should be plenty okay. They are heavy but no heavier than say a passenger in your Jeep. My bumper is about 134 pounds and the winch is about 80 pounds. So that's about 210 pound total which would be the equivalent of a medium size passenger. I've had 5 people and camping gear in the Jeep prior to a lift and didn't have any issues on trails. So about 800 pounds of passengers and gear on a stock Sahara suspension which is the same as the sport S I believe.

    Buy small to medium tripods or clips for your camera/phone to free up your hands. Tape only one side of the part when taking it off & putting it on. The other sides are the same... Good luck.

What you can do is if you have a Tazer JL Mini, you can increase the RPM when you winch to avoid the low voltage warning tripping the ECM and causing the service engine light to come on

    This was painful to watch. I got so frustrated by the mistakes and do-overs (how many times can one "get ahead of themselves") that I don't think the effort should be classified as an install video. I pray this isn't a testament over how things play-out on the trails. While I'm confident other commentators might not like my statement and opinion on all of this I will add that, with a bit of forethought and preparation, the fellow can do better, and I appreciate his sense of aesthetic. The Smittybilt Styker bumper is very cool, and I agree it's a nice finish to the JL design.

      brian patrick cork Thanks for the feedback. It was painful to install too. The instructions at first seemed great but limited in steps. The videos I watched would show some detail on certain aspects and not others. That’s why I shared it as is in hopes that it helps others fill the gaps. This is why I don’t label my videos as a tutorial or instructional. I’m simply sharing how I installed it which I never claimed was the authority on install vids.

    I like the look of this bumper but Smittybilt desperately needs to add like 30 more steps to their nearly useless instructions. And they need shape their gusset support brackets to accommodate for the bump you mention at 14:14 because that's just ridiculous how much it has to contort and bend to fit tight there!

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. I was surprised when I saw the bump there, I was sure I was doing something wrong. I looked at the brackets, I looked at the instructions, I looked at the spacers, etc. None of it matched. For a second I thought maybe I had the JK version of this bumper. Anyhow, I do love it, and have tested it pulling a buddy out with the winch and it held in place lol. I am glad I kept the OEM bumper reinforcement outer brackets (couldn't keep the inner ones) as I feel better winching people out knowing they are there. Even with the spacers, the space for the winch is too little, a little more clearance would be nice for the rope/winches that come in all shapes and sized. Thanks for the comment!
