  • Let's practice some Heart Shapes together.
    First a review of Hand positions, then some technique ques to get your hearts nice and crisp, then we roll into the timed work.
    Outward hearts - single arm Left, Right, then both
    Inward hearts - single arm left, Right, then both
    I do one set through on this video, I recommend going through it as many times as you like! Keep your eye on your technique. time spent here at the start of your club journey will go a long way my friend!
    Indian Clubs have been an awesome addition to my training, and are fast becoming a favourite of my students. Sometimes you don't want to watch the clock yourself to time your rounds, or think about what to do to get your practice in, especially as a beginner.
    That's what I aim to do with this series!
    Thanks for watching, Let me know what other movements you want to see, Steel Mace Flow videos are coming soon to the channel!

    Hey Lea, I came across your instructional video's, and I just wanted to compliment you on how well detailed your breakdowns are of each movement pattern. Awesome content 👏. Look forward to further video's. Take care!

    I’m glad I found this channel. My girlfriend and I recently got interested in clubs and, at first, all I found was tutorials done by overly jacked dudes swinging 20lb clubs around. Neither of us had any interest in that.
    Thank you for breaking these motions down and making it a lot easier to learn.

    Hiya Lea, here I am again.😉 This exercise is gold for my shoulders. Because of my weak shoulder I do it with a little modification. The exercise starts and ends with a 90 degree angle to my upper body. For me this works pretty, pretty good. Cheers and Tara.😉💪

    This is an excellent foundational video. I can't believe I only came across Indian clubs recently, even with past searches for rotator cuff injury and vaccine-related shoulder injury rehab. Are these videos being suppressed in YT searches for some odd reason? I received my 1-lbs. pair last week and they have been remarkably therapeutic and filled in the huge gap in regular gym equipment (barbell hand weights and wire-stack machines).

    Thank you. I'm 65 and just got my clubs. I feel really uncoordinated. You make it look really simple but when I tried to follow along I was messing it up.... I guess it's going to take me practice!... ..is that normal?. I wasn't even putting it under the chin the right way......smh. oh lord. 😖🤔. Is there anybody else out there starting out uncoordinated? I don't want to feel defeated before I start 🫣

    • @lea_shiny
      @lea_shiny  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's totally common to feel uncoordinated at the start of your clubs journey. Remember you are creating new neural pathways while you practice and this is just the beginning. The connections will become stronger the more you practice. Keep at it and remember a little each day will go a lot further than a big session then no practice for weeks!

    Thank you for these videos! I'm just starting with clubs and I love your content. Can you tell me what you mean by "deep hammer"? Thanks so much!

    • @lea_shiny
      @lea_shiny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! When I say deep hammer, I am referring to an enthusiastic hammer grip you could say. Hammer grip is pretty much 90 degrees between you forearm and the club, for deep hammer, you want to tilt the club a little extra to have that angle smaller. Helps keep clubs out of each other's way adjusting slightly.

  • @sander5938

    Does the pinky have to be on the pummel in hammer grip? I find this quite difficult. I have slightly different looking clubs with bigger pummels. I find it much easier to have the pinky where you have the ringfinger, touching the pummel at the top. Is this bad/wrong?

    • @lea_shiny
      @lea_shiny  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! There's a few reasons for the ring finger just above the pommel and your pinky on the pommel. It stops you from death gripping the club, holding too tight will limit your wrist's range of motion. It allows your pinky to be more involved in certain movements and have the pommel 'sit' in your hand in others - this doesn't work out quite the same when your pinky is not on the pommel. I hope that helps!

    • @turntablesrockmyworld9315
      @turntablesrockmyworld9315 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually the main reason for pinky on pommel is that when you switch to saber grip the pommel should be in valley of lower part of hand. Grabbing with pinky higher above pommel means it will hardt o have the pommel in the "valley" correctly.
