Make a note that this 3800 kv motor will be just fine on 3s as long as you dont over gear it. Good starting point would be a 9,10 or 12t pinion ( 32p itch). The Copperhead ESC will run much much cooler than a sidewinder 4 overall. This ESC is simplyt state of the art !!! THIS setup is aggresive and a motor fan will help in hotter weather.
Fastrax do loads of Aluminium upgrades. I have hobbywing max10 combo on mine. 120a Esc 3660 3200kv with 15T pinion. Have motor fan and it flys on 3s with no overheating issues.

@83Goldy Id choose MT10 over Granite. Granite 50mph stock. Vorteks 55mph with a better transmitter. MT10 V2 44mph stock but has better handerling, centre diff, sway bars and more adjustability and lights. Also a dust cover for electronics lol Wish Arrma would add centre diff to 3S range and more adjustability.
As an MT10 owner, excellent video. The one thing I would highly recommend is body protection on the front, top and rear area. In minutes, it starts to tear into the expensive shell body. I do not know of any aftermarket skid plates but I 3D printed some and installed immediately after the first run. May not look quite as good, but highly functional. Does anyone agree?
Another thing that really will make driving these better is to balance your wheels/tires!! I've do it on every car/truck I race, and it is no different on bashers!

Fastrax, M2C and Custom RC Upgrades make critical upgrades such as T7075 or Carbon Fiber motor mounts to name a few. I am building an MT10 and used your motor and ESC combination but with a 5mm shaft as the smaller shaft is not adequate with the increase in KV.
Would the Copperhead 10 MT edition with the 2400kv 1415 motor be a good fit for the MT10V2? Thanks I'm no stranger to Castle products I just haven't used any of their 1/10th scale products and there's many options to choose from and I would like to get an MT10V2.

But, I thought I would mention it. When I wanted to replace my servo horn with a metal one I sent an email to Team Associated. I received a response from Donald Natale. His choice was the metal servo horn from the DR10m, 72058. It's perfectly shaped and bent exactly right. I have a question. I am attempting to run my MT10 V.1 in local parking lot series. I wanted to try some different springs. Associated doesn't offer any. One TH-camr recommended the springs from the old SC10 4WD or Losi Ten SCTE springs. What are your thoughts? I bought 3 of theses when they were sold by helion $150 each the only weekness is the axles they break at the wheel the team associated pro 4 sct has the same axles they break too helion sold those too besides that they are awesome vehicle's you are right best value for 1/10 rtr
Yup. I got the 10mt from hobbytown $199! Still love it although its all TA parts now. The Helion plastic was better. They made a steel spur too. Tbone used to make a bumper. We need a rpm skid plate. And ur right about the axles. Best fix ive found is lighter tires. U can work some traxxas hd shafts to work. Heard u can use 4s arrmas with mods but yup heavy tires like this pop them quick. All prolines are too heavy for it.
It turned out to be a nice MT10. I built a Pro4 SC with a Hobbywing max and the 4000kv motor. I think the engine is relatively loose. Is there a trick how to fix the motor mount? This is just hacked in at the bottom. Is there something between the screw and the motor mount? Thanks

I love my MT-10 and I was going to leave it alone, aside from the rpm A arms, when the stock break. After watching this video, I don't know if I should thank you are be mad at you for making me spend more money and doing more work. I guess I'll go with option A in this case. If you want torque get the 3200. But keep in mind it’s a low friction drivetrain and the chasis does NOT need more torque. With 3800 you will have just the right amount of power. Keep the pinion btw 10-12. Get a motor fan and enjoy.

Great job covering the MT-10. I agree with setting up gear mesh and the "roll test". I really don't know that much about mesh but with larger teeth / pitch some manufactures actually say to use 2 sheets of note paper to set mesh. I guess the more you do it the better you get.

I want to tinker with it myself but you gave me a good basis to strive for and I’ve been ordering from you since. Are the shocks the team associated shocks? And I’ve been seeing ppl in my FB group put that level of internals in their MT 10s but swapping the chassis to the Pro SC 10. What are your thoughts on that?
IMO the upgraded shocks look great but are no better than the stock plastic ones. I've broken both plastic and metal ones. Not worth the price of the upgrade.

The stock radio is junk, thats the first thing to go, also you should upgrade the motor mount plate as thay can bend. I just brought a new V1 mt10, im going to upgrade it before I use it.
Hmmm, helion avenger, original chassis, but MT10, is Awesome, I have put ezrun hobbywing max 10 60a esc, in mine, what a difference ,I can also program it aswell, were as the original esc you can't 👍
Ive got/had the Avenge also! Love it but cant buy helion parts anymore unfortunately. Plastics were better but thanks to TA it lives! w/o TA itd stayed busted in a box and its exactly the same rig other than wheelie bar. great design. Long as they make them ill have one. Got a Pro4 chassis on 1 and one standard chassis both upgraded.

Doesn’t stunt flip as good as MT but Handles great and flies really stable. Only prob with these rigs is the axle stubs bend and break easily especially if u try running a heavier tire. My fav truck. If u have an MT i strongly suggest u try the LWB conversion. Cheap mod. Its a blast.
Love the build! Love mine. But throw a crcu motor mount in there and modify the top mount screw. Lock that hoe down. Toss that tension spring in the trash. You did not fix the one if not the biggest problem. Tx/RX is junk also.
Of u wanna claim its fully upgraded , then theres a few things missed. 1 , the plastic spur gear. When i bought my mt10 there was no upgrade.( That may have changed) I was able to get a tekno hardened steel spur gear and get it to fit. . Never had a problem after that with the spur. Also..... The axles,.. i didn't find any worthy upgrades meant for the mt10. ...but , with some research i was able to get the heavy duty MIP axles from a 4x4 slash to work. I think those mods would make the upgraded truck more of a complete build ! Ty
Plastic gear is better since you need a failure point in drivetrain. Motor bearings will last longer as well. facts..... MIP are made of a heavy heavy steal and increase rotating mass by more than double and also corrode over time and they evenetually bind. No GOOD
Then why do all decent eighth scales come with all metal drivetrains? What's their point of failure. Plain and simple the plastics gears suck and I got sick of buying them

Kevin Talbot… beat the living shit out of this car…” Stock” and couldn’t break it… it doesn’t really need up grades…. Other than the max from traxxas I haven’t seen a car as durable…. That max too is “ stock”…. I beat mine constantly it only broke one time… it was used by a friend and he hit a telephone pole at full throttle… it broke off a wheel and a a- arm… that’s it… but the MT 10 is even tougher….ive seen this car in action… I also seen an e revo 2.0 in action… air control… e revo is better… but this and the original max are neck and neck
Can't agree. I bought MT10 one year ago because they said it's durable out of the box. Unfortunately mine is not, almost everything I have replaced by better parts...

RPM makes some "skid rails" that are pretty good.
For a high-end customer you should have shorten the motor wires and same connectors but besides that awesome built😊

How does that motor perform compared to the 1412 3200kv?
My opinion 1412 has too much power for the drivetrain. Wrong choice for this car IMHO.

Awesome build! Have you run into problems with the wheel nuts coming loose? It even does it with some aftermarket ones with the nylon insert.

When i bought my mt10 there was no upgrade.( That may have changed) I was able to get a tekno hardened steel spur gear and get it to fit. . Never had a problem after that with the spur. Also..... The axles,.. i didn't find any worthy upgrades meant for the mt10. ...but , with some research i was able to get the heavy duty MIP axles from a 4x4 slash to work. I think those mods would make the upgraded truck more of a complete build ! Ty
Plastic gear is better since you need a failure point in drivetrain. Motor bearings will last longer as well. facts.....
MIP are made of a heavy heavy steal and increase rotating mass by more than double and also corrode over time and they evenetually bind. No GOOD
Then why do all decent eighth scales come with all metal drivetrains? What's their point of failure. Plain and simple the plastics gears suck and I got sick of buying them

Looks can be deceiving. In fact you couldn't be further from the truth.
Fully upgraded but standard cheap metal motor mount that bends after 1 heavy hit lol you need the crcu cnc one I have it and my motor hasn’t moved a micro out of mesh
Kevin Talbot… beat the living shit out of this car…” Stock” and couldn’t break it… it doesn’t really need up grades…. Other than the max from traxxas I haven’t seen a car as durable…. That max too is “ stock”…. I beat mine constantly it only broke one time… it was used by a friend and he hit a telephone pole at full throttle… it broke off a wheel and a a- arm… that’s it… but the MT 10 is even tougher….ive seen this car in action… I also seen an e revo 2.0 in action… air control… e revo is better… but this and the original max are neck and neck
Can't agree. I bought MT10 one year ago because they said it's durable out of the box. Unfortunately mine is not, almost everything I have replaced by better parts...
@ you either ran it over with a car ,are the most abusing RC driver ever or just are a horrible rc driver…dude the thing went through the abuse of the most radical rc drivers and survived swimmingly!
