Antique Sugar Grinder Restoration / 1970's Czechoslovakia

- In this video I will show how I restored an antique sugar grinder.
This was my first restoration and I had a great experience and enjoyment, as I am also a fan of video restoration. It's kind of a meditation of sorts.
For you it is only 20 minutes, but for me it is a whole month of work in conditions of frequent lack of electricity due to destroyed thermal power plants and electrical substations and frost, the temperature was as low as -15C.
At first I didn't want to take on its restoration because of the terrible condition of the brass parts. They are very thin ( less 1mm), literally bend with my hands, and are hard to restore because of their awkward shape.
But this sugar grinder is such a unique thing, not like a regular meat or coffee grinder, that I put all doubts to rest.
Whether I succeeded or not is up to you to decide :)

Good work. Just a little note. Although the grinder grinds various foods, it is a poppy seed grinder.
Greetings from Latvia. I really enjoyed this video. It is so relaxing to watch restoration videos with all these sounds. Reminds me of grandpas workshop when I was a kid. Thank you so much!
You are welcome 💛
That is awesome how you restored the sugar grinder to working order. It looks much better too. Excellent work as usual.
Excellent job brother 👏👏👏, especially given your description of the challenging conditions you're living and working under at this time 😩. It's great that you've not let it deter you from carrying on 🙏🙏🙏. You did a great resto on this item, and I'm also looking forward to the next Unique Thing you build 😁. 😎
Thanks for the support 💛

Надпись на изделии лучше если б был золотой краской.
Forno a lenha voce nao vai restaurar?
Someday perhaps I will restore it. But now I have installed a "Canadian stove" in the my workshop
You need to test for lead paint on any item manufactured before the 1970s. You could be exposing yourself, your family & your local environment to lead contamination. That's irresponsible.
Edit: Most paints & cold bluing fluid are toxic & should not be used on food processing equipment. There ARE food safe alternatives.
