i don't comment on a lot of videos, but I saw some pretty nasty comments and wanted to say something positive, since i really liked the video, myself. I don't know much about restoration, but my late father did, since he collected old stuff like knives, arrowheads, etc that he would find washed up on riverbanks or buried. Not every blade can be saved- not without so much filler, it may as well beva different knife entirely. I appreciate the integrity of simply freshening up the metal and salvaging what's there, leaving the original intact. And the handle(?) That you made for it was gorgeous! You're far nicer to some of these commenters than i'd expect to be honest, and i hope you keep it up! People need to stop demanding perfection from random strangers online. Thanks for the relaxing watch!
I am sure that your father was a decent man.
You're absolutely right, it would have been a different kind of knife.
Thank you for your comment!
You are skilled to do different jobs well! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Queria um desses. Parabens belo trabalho.

Thank you ❤️
Great job."
Lovely work
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing a great job.
❤️
beautiful and wonderful😄
Good video, dont worry about the haters. Im new to this the hundreds of angles, editing... everyone that complains always has zero videos of their own 👍👍
I don't have haters. There are those who don't like my work, and that's normal, you should treat it normally 👍
I like this wood
New subscriber! Great restoration!
Always surprising how much glass beading and sanding can be done and still have a knife
Exactly!
SUPER 👌 POZDRAWIAM 🖐🤜🤛
Nice handle in : 11:50 👍
nice restoration with bearutiful wood! could the erosion on the blade have been filled in?
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
It wouldn't work. The blade is very thin and welding would only ruin the metal.
beautiful grips but that terrible pitted blade sucks
I like your technique, your finished products show case two things,1) how meticulous you are and 2) how you stay true to the restored pieces age and use by leaving the flaws created by time and use ( the knife in particular) thanks for the video, enjoyed it .
No one has ever given me such an assessment before, thank you!
Sometimes it's just impossible to bring a thing back to its original form (like this knife, for example). Of course, you could use welding to fill in the rust gaps, but that would be very ugly
You should try a Japanese pull saw easier to use and more accurate than American/European saws. 🔪🎸
*Great job done!*
*I wish your pens don't hurt.*
I've already taken some life lessons into consideration, thanks xD

No le hace daño eso al gato ?
You didn't need to send the wood after cutting it,at 6:20 - you already had 2 perfectly flat faces...and since you later shaped the outside of the scales , it was an unnecessary step.
Also, you might consider saving that sawdust, instead of blowing it all over your workshop,it has many valuable uses, and you don't want to breathe it in by blowing it into the air.
Regards from Scotland.
You're absolutely right. I had a perfectly flat side of the wood. But also, there was a beautiful pattern there that I wanted to keep (and I succeeded).
After spraying the dust, I usually air the room out
Thanks for your opinion, it's important!
Hello from Ukraine 🇺🇦
👍✔
The pocket knife and the slicer were a bit too far gone. Nice restorations, though a little ugly. The cleaver was an absolutely beautiful job. The ebony scales were just right.
WHEN THE METAL IS PITTED REALLY BAD FROM THE RUST,IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET ALL OF THE PITS OUT AND MAKE IT SMOOTH LOOKING AGAIN???
Hi. Welding is the only way.
@@uniquethings6032 I THOUGHT SO,BUT I WAS NOT SURE IF IT WOULD WORK OR NOT...THANKS!!!
IWished you would have put the H N O on the Jack knife. Granny
Nicely done but in your place i'd actualy blue it in a different way. I would put pot of water and wait for it to boil and just dump blade in boiling water 15-20 min that way instead of dumping it you convert rust into black oxide which in turn protects blade from rust. It's oldest known way of bluing steel and probably the first.
Ok, i will try next time. Thank you!
@@uniquethings6032 keep in mind that blade needs to be rusted already for it to work.
How can I regret the timing if thanks to this knife I earned x100 amount of money in relation to the cost of the knife?
Overall I like the end result I feel like adding the aluminum or steel pieces or whatever they may have been in place of the brass is good I like that if it would have been possible I would have loved to have seen the brass on top of the pieces you added outside of that the only thing that I would have done different just for security and longevity of the knife is instead of just pinning the metal pieces I would have pinned all the way through the scales as well as my personal opinion but those are like assholes everybody has one so I do not mean to be an a****** with my comment very well done sir
Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate your thoughts on the design and the suggestion to add brass on top of the added pieces. It's always great to hear different perspectives and ideas.
👏👍👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏🥃🥃🥃
❤❤😊🔪🔪🔪🔪💯😁🤩⭐
That beautiful wood on that knife ...like putting lipstick on a pig.
Did bro just feed rust to his cat
I was looking for this comment😭
Better restoration videos feature the restorer wearing black gloves.
why are you stating USA? those are Cyrillic letters.
I’m calling Animal Cruelty Protective Services on you.
For what?
what a waste of beautiful wood, you are type of guy to cut down a tree to make a toothpick.
You fed your cat chemicals???
Why not?
That is not a full restoration, you just restored the operational life but not the original condition of the material. You did not treat the pitted/dented portions of the steel. What you did is just a PRESERVATION. Too much overuse of the word 'restoration'.
Thanks for the opinion! Watch our other videos too
Hella dope results, @uniquethings6032!
All that work and still an UGLY knife!!!
😱😱
Did you just poison your cat?
Rusty worthless knife into a rusty worthless knife with fancy wood handles stupidity or boredom you choose
Thanks for the opinion!
I am disliking this small 40 min video on Restoration of Antique pocket knife.. too small.
those handle scales are wide wow.. be careful using that it might wanna roll in your hand
There are a few character's on you tube when doing a restoration they are like Marcel Marceau and theatrics and they make out if they are conducting a orchestra and your one of them what is that stupidity.
Jeden Tag englische Videos mit Mist 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
