Brilliant upload! Does anyone know if the new and bonus tracks were written by Robyn Miller already for the original release in 1997? Or did he compose these for the new release? When I listen to them, they do remind me more of the Obduction tracks from 2016 than of the tracks from the 90s - which may indicate, they are newly composed?
Yes, tracks 23-30 were all written especially for the remake. Tracks 1, 13 and 21 appeared in the original but were not published in the album release.
He's just writing in a different style. The new tracks are much more reminiscent of his soundtracks to Obduction or The Immortal Augustus Gladstone rather than Myst and the original Riven
As far as I know, Quern was strongly inspired by Myst (and the original Riven is much older than Quern and was one of the games in the Myst series - this soundtrack is from the remaster)
