What kind of news is that you don't even show the guy's face
I did a search and still couldn't find a picture of this guy. Numerous articles but no pictures.
Found it,him google search as Todd Hill
He looks like Hank from Breaking Bad 👨🏻🦲
YT defendant news
I was just about to type this statement. I was wondering the same thing!
As a recently retired home inspector for 33 years I refused to inspect flip homes because the vast majority of flips are a guaranteed lawsuit because of minimal at best workmanship and CHEAP materials. You can’t make a silk purse out of a pigs ear.
As a "home flipper" for over 30 years, the home inspection business has turned into a money grabbing joke. A potential buyer had a 68 page inspection report on a 38K house I was selling. Scammers like the HGTV fraudster use these home inspections to scare unknowing home owners into selling their houses for way below market price.
they don't sentence people to 4 years in county jail, anything over a year is prison, you should know that being journalist!
Maybe, but these days anything is possible.
Why broad cast your ignorance on social media
It’s corporate media, what did you expect 😂
Thats what I was wondering. Usually anything over a year is prison. County just isn't equipped for long term.
On Tuesday, Hill was taken into custody at the Elmwood Men’s Facility, a medium to minimum security jail in Milpitas.
Perfect opportunity to do the sequel: HGTV: New home - In Jail. Flip it to Dip it!!! ;)!!!
😅😅😅😅😅😅
People don't serve 4 years in jail.
Not on a four sentence, no they don't. It is likely the loss of his real estate license and the 10 million restitution that really puts the screws to him. Why are people so stupidly greedy?
@@Brian-pz3wh Brian, he was trying to say people don't serve 4 years in "county" jail max 12 months. He will be going to state prison.
People don't serve 4 years in "County" jail is more accurate
@@homelessmillionaire1 max 365 days, one day over that is prison, no exceptions to that rule ever.
My guess is he'll go out on work release but has to come to the jail at night for the next 4 years. Even that I've never heard of a four year jail sentence. But it is California so who knows.
I've flipped over 700 homes in the last 30 years and the margins are much less than people believe them to be. However, I have a business partner who holds all licenses (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, MHIC), we get all permits churn out really well renovated properties that are better than when new. We are experts at scheduling crews and managing materials because those are two things that can really wreck a project.
It's hard to understand why so many try to cheat the system, cheat the banks, but I've seen it many times over the years. They get in over their heads and think they'll make it up on the next one, but that's a slippery slope and few ever get back on track.
My dad bought a foreclosure in Florida for 52K in 2008 then sold it 4 years ago for 160K, he bought a house in Gatlinburg for 40K that needs foundation work to flip. He still lives in it today. He never pulls loans just pays cash. He had medical problems that has led to major kidney failure. Anyway he says there was no rush to fixing the house anyway. He found out that he has to live in the house for 2 years or pay income taxes on the house if sold. He says that it would be a serious hit on the profit for him. My dad has never earned more than 5 bucks an hour plus tips till last year and now he can only work 6 hours in 2 shifts on the weekend anyway. Mom only started back to work this year after 18 years of being a stay at home mom. I think he looked into flipping houses and said that it was a risky thing to do. He does risky things but never risks the home he lives in.
I'm a carpenter in Mississippi. I have 20 years on most of the contractors I work with, plus an intense architectural education. They are always trying to game the system. They repeat the same mistakes in every house they build. My advice is irrelevant to them.

TV isn't realistic...let that sink in viewers
It’s not funny but I’m sorry this is fucking hilarious.
The guy even admits they were lying in their show. Fraud much? 🤥
His attitude seems to be it's ok cuz the victims are suckers for believing what he says to them.
TV is fake for a reason. People are gullible af tho
Just so you know, I went to the front door and the sink wasn’t there!
No one in their right mind would buy a home in Silicon Valley right now.
You mean silly-con valley🤣
You can’t get sentenced to 4 years in county jail. Prison is for sentences longer that a year. County jail is for pre-trial confinement (folks who don’t bail out) and misdemeanors - generally misdemeanors top out at one year confinement..different states have different rules.
I never heard of a 1 year limit. Looked it up and it's 120 days in my state. What made me skeptical was that the state makes counties house the state's overflow prisoners. The state pays for the housing, but the counties have to take them. I'm sure it is the least violent offenders. But do they really move them all out after six months and move a new batch in? Probably the state's rules don't apply to the state.
Post his picture 🤦🏽♀️
You hear his name. Just look him up.
Kinda defeats the purpose of a news segment though
Flipping homes to generate a fast profit is hit and miss! Even veteran remodeling contractors avoid this type of venture for themselves.😂
I got flipped off at a house, but I didn't get anything for it
I've been "flipping" houses for 30 years. Best job I could have ever had.
Greed, greed never changes…..
😂 now do that to every "House flipper" and you'll realize that they all do this
Yep 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wait til Latitia James hears of this..
@@jamesalec1321 Who cares what the dumb ho thinks
No we don't. The good ones turn unlivable houses into nice affordable houses. Try getting a bank to give a loan on a run down fixer upper.
I'm surprised Armando Montenegro isn't in jail yet.
Is the dude still around ?
for real, for real. They were janky, his wife, that Hummer. ughck
@@mikeperry1620 last time i heard Armando was running a scam call center.
Montelongo.
Montelongo, but I bet it is

Good luck with seeing that 10 million dollars 😂😂😂
This report has problems. If he had a 4 year sentence, he cannot serve it in county jail. By CA law, he must serve it in a state prison.
that nothing, go after insurance companies those are the real crook's.
Never heard of the guy,
You need to question your own intelligence if you watch HGTV, let alone falling for the talking heads' scams.
Dumb comment
Definitely!

Good thing he didn't overvalue his properties!
😆
😂😂😂
His crime was he stole peoples money....... not run against Joe Biden.
"Four years in county jail"??? This reporter is clueless. Any sentence over 1 year (felonies) are served in state prison.
Bad reporting!
House flippers need to get a job. What a useless profession, inserting yourself as a middle man and renovating a home in your tastes even though you have no intention of living in it. Way to inflate home prices. Get a job.
So ooo ... Where's his Mug Shot and Perp Walk???
Why don't they show this criminal's face?
They could film cell decorating contests.
Remember when Martha Stewart lost in the prison Arts and Crafts contest?!?
Yeah, this is a sloppy story.
Real Estate: it's a all a scam...
Actually, news reports say he was put in PRISON...Not a County Jail! There is a difference.
4 years isn’t enough time for the years of discomfort and agony of the victims
"HGTV Star" Translation: A nobody.
Ironic that fake television can still get those involved into real trouble
Is he the one that used to flip houses with his wife and then she divorced him .... Todd was his name
No
Where is the ten million supposed to come from?
no picture?
His picture is all over google so I dont know why people cant find what he looks like lol
While these shows are fun I've come to realize that the flipping industry is a large part of the problem of housing becoming too expensive.
He carpe diemed all over the place. C'est la vie.
4 years only!? BULLSHIT should be for life
You never show the supposed star from the show. How stupid. Horrible journalism.
What a disgusting individual. Shame on you Todd Hill! 😡
This was a money crime. He's supposed to go to Club Fed.
According Reventure Consulting, HGTV changed real estate since the 90s and made it a not so boring investment causing housing bubbles
As a carpenter / woodworker my whole life on the Gold Coast of Ct , people like this and these tv shows have done nothing but damage our industry. Before carpenters became builders now , dudes get out of college and have nothing to do , somehow they get some backing now they’re building multi million dollar homes. Without an ounce of building experience. I see it everyday. Don’t get me started on the fraud some of the homeowners have dealt with because they are trying to save a couple bucks
He does he have to pay? The state. It should go to the people.
Blows my mind that people still think silicone valley is in any way respectable
Too many people trying to squeeze every last cent out of renters and buyers to become wealthy. Honestly the entire home buying and selling system needs improvement but everyone is so greedy it will never happen unfortunately.
Full of useless, self inserted middleman who nickel and dime new home buyers. Realtors and flippers man… get a real job
Stay classy, humanity.
Who is this where is his pic?
The judge should’ve told him when he serves 4 years he’ll be serving 25% more.
did they even tell us who it was? missed it.
R u kidding? So much bad energy. Pass law to put stop 2 this kind
Same with Holmes on Houses
Really?
The man is right! 25% more money, at least, and at least double the time it takes.
Silicone Valley is Scamville !
Silicon
He got more time than armed robbers.
After being in the industry for years, all that crap on TV by any of the nationwide flippers is about 90 percent bullsh... Anybody claiming those type of profit numbers is a scammer. The only way to create profit like that is to cut corners on material and labor while turning out a crap product and overcharging for it. Company I used to work for was great. We did quality work in a reasonable time frame and stayed busy. We were booked out almost 2 years. You can make good money, but you actually have to work for it and stay consistent.
His 15 minutes is over! 😂
Who?????
Photo of the crook, please?
4 years in a county jail,I don’t think so the max in San Diego county is a year in county. maybe it’s different up there otherwise your off to the pen.
So yall not going to show the guy's face???😮
This is not an old story: where the Contractor is taking your money and running before job gets started or never finished because the contractor uses the money for other jobs or he's own lifestyle. it's a common theme with this guys, if there gonna talk a big game about what they do or how they do it have them show you a list of jobs and pictures of their past work and maybe talk to their past clients if possible, remember folks Vett the people that you hire.
Good luck with getting that out of him. He probably spent it all.
Usual suspects 😂😂
Small hat Mafia?
The guy took instructions from Putin's playbook!
fake it til you make it!!
4 years is not enough
IRS AUDIT to the penny for the scammer
Bizarre. All on film too🎉
These prics always get to do their time in county jail. A maf gets busted with an ounce of pot and spends their four, if it's that little, in state prison.
Reality shows with producers and directors listed in the credits, duh.
Sounds like Anthony Farrer
County jail?
Todd Hill aka Mr. Flip it, aka Mr. Pocket This. Maybe there is reason he only lasted 13 episodes on Flip It To Win It.
No pic or mugshot of the Perp? Why isn’t name, age, pic and perp's hometown the central takeaway of the 2 min piece? Journalism is getting lazy … and missing the point.
Never heard of that show and I live in southern California 🤔
You have my condolences 🙏
Good advice.
why didn't they show his face? odd
How is it that they made a case against this guy so quickly and a trial was had and bam. He is in jail. But the guys who lied for trump.
And himself have served little or no jail time.
Thats American justice for you.
What does he look like. 10 years ago?

@@LiLoTech well, i did.
Don't believe everything you are hearing here. Real estate is the one way you can make large amounts of money!!! Starting with just about nothing. I believe 70% of the millionaires in the country did it through real estate. The higher the cost of homes in the area, the higher the profits. California is probably the highest profitable state to do business in.
Get ‘em all!
