Actually Will, Tasha is the adopted daughter of Baba Yaga, the epitome of all hags. So yeah, makes sense where she learned darker magic arts from.

Made a dhampire echo knight fighter/undead warlock whose patron turned him into a dhampire to be a more powerful servant not even trying to min max and just make a guy with an interesting story he came out powerful a fighter with great range options that frightens whatever he hits vampiric flavoring makes it better for role play and then gets plenty of opportunity atks when they run away or can just chill back with his echo blocking the path as he eldritch blasts from a few feet back or while chilling on the ceiling

In regard to previous incarnations of the hexblood, the only thing that comes to mind (well except for pathfinder) is the changeling thingy in PC1 & birthright.
Fairies will sometimes swap out newborn children with a changeling. And while the parents now raise some ancient fairy, the actual children on the other hand are kept by the fairy until they get bored of them.
This will change a humanoid child and gives them a special ability called "second sight", which basically is true-sight against fairy.
There's also mention of it that this ability might be the reason why those children are stolen in first place and that it can naturally manifest when somebody has a fairy ancestor.
Definitely not as bad as hags but still pretty dark and maybe a good background for a hexblood character.

Regarding the Hexblood Token ability and whether non-hags have similar abilities,
    In some editions,
Nymphs have had the ability to gift a lock of their hair to a favored mortal, which, in turn, grants them artistic inspiration,
This is translated as a temporary stat boost in game mechanics.

I'm surprised there is confusion on the pronunciation. (/sarcasm)
Vampyr rhymes with Dhampir or Dampyr. But Vampire is different. Vampyr is the classification for all subspecies like vampire and dhampir. I hope me saying some variation of vampire several times isn't too hard to follow.
TLDR: All vampires are vampyr but not all vampyrs are vampires. Think of it like all drakes are dragons but not all dragons are drakes.

I absolutely love the idea of a dhampiric mix of Alucard and Colin Robinson... The son of a great and powerful vampire lord, destined from birth to have great psychic power and lead the armies of darkness... But they manifest as a boring pudding of a creature instead.
The vampire lord father is dismayed, hoping for a monstrous, charismatic leader who would cut the forces of light like a blade through paper, but having this seemingly boiled potato instead. BUT DON'T BE FOOLED. Beneath his incredibly mundane conversations and mind-numbing company, he is actually an incredibly potent energy sucking force.
The dhampir leaves, becoming a bard (potentially an Eloquence or Whisper bard). I love the idea of a bard who is very clearly not charismatic or talented in any way, but inherently has very strong hypnotic/enchantment or general magical powers that achieve the same effects as an actually talented musician would. While Eloquence fits the theme better, I crack up at the idea of the psychic blade damage from Whispers in the form of an invisible "hand crossbow" that is just the "Colin Robinson gets a promotion" episode where he finger guns people unconscious by saying things like "TGIF" and "working hard or hardly working".
If it's too tough to roleplay just the Colin side of it, you could also play the Laszlo side of What We Do In The Shadows and think that you are a wildly talented musician and ladies man but actually you are terrible and get all of your success just by being very magically potent.
It would be an absolute gas to have him as an npc that goes along with the party for a few sessions or pops up periodically, perhaps even doing some small psychic feeding sessions on the party (just a few hp) as he bores them to death. The party would eventually try to dump him or attempt to leave him behind, at which point he gets mad and leaves, becoming a secondary antagonist where you see the full breadth of what he can do and realize that the minor annoyances he had presented to you were the result of him being incredibly restrained with his power because he genuinely liked the party. Now that he has been rejected, though, he wants to take his revenge and wields terrifying amounts of power, even if that power manifests itself in a super boring package 😂

Hagspawn came out in 3.5 city of splendors: Waterdeep. They are almost identical to the new race Hexblood. Hagspawn were typically the male offspring of a hag and male human though you could become a hagspawn if your parents made a deal with a hag

    • @nicholasolin7252
      @nicholasolin7252 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Ganneyev of Dreams is probably the most famous of the Hagspawn as he is a major companion character in a Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion.
As for the lock of hair being given as a magical token, that also comes from forgotten realms lore as Neverwinter Nights required the character to retrieve such a token from a Dryad in order to create a magical potion to cure a plague
