I remember back when this game released in 2005 many reviewers said this game was inspired by Metroid Prime because your point of view was from inside the helmet of the character. So in a way, we finally got Metroid Prime on the Switch. We made it guys 💪
It's May 2022 and I'm finally playing this for the first time ever. In a time where Disney owns Star Wars, the dark and gritty aspects of this game are what I appreciate the most. Regarding the performance issue you are seeing... I am assuming both of you got the digital copy? If so, it is likely an issue with the SD card. Did you try swapping out the SD card on the Switch seeing the issue? I am so sad they removed the multiplayer component. :(
It's not a SD card issue. Several reviewers have stated those issues happening. The issues have happened when I have played it too. I put it on the switch's internal memory just to check, and it still happens. It's the game. Edit: There is no physical copy btw.
This game is fantastic, but I can’t lie this switch version isn’t great. In my experience the frame rate is choppy and the game is weirdly dark for some reason. I don’t mean in tone I mean you can’t see anything. You have night vision mode so it’s not a huge deal but the original game wasn’t nearly this dark. I know this is a Nintendo based channel but if you’re able to play this on ps4, xbox (literally all of them), or PC then please do so there instead as this game works much better on those and is an absolute blast to play. EDIT: After playing this version a little more I think I know what the issue is. When playing with the switch docked, the game actually runs about as well as the original did, which is to say: pretty good. The game even gets brighter this way. I think playing in portable mode might be what’s causing these issues, although I’m not sure why it stayed that way even when Alex was recording since presumably he’d be in docked mode. Basically this version is playable, especially docked, but I’d still argue that the other versions are better.
I also have the performance issue so it’s good to know I’m not the only one 😅 hopefully they patch this up so we can properly enjoy it. Especially to those of us really looking forward to the limited runs collectors issue.
Just finished playing again on the Switch. Originally the squad command’s didn’t work for me but they did this time. Crashed once but no other performance issues. I highly recommend for any Star Wars/FPS fan.
If you had a Gamecube rather than an Xbox in the early 2000s though, you might've not played this when it came out, so it's fine that it hasn't changed much from its original release since it's still a good game.
My biggest problem with this game is the enemy design. It seems like the game just sets out to piss the player off rather than engage them. Idk, it could just be me. But it makes it hard to enjoy after Geonosis.
