Great shave Paul💈💈 The old Gillette did its job admirably for its age, vintage razors always a treat to use. Menthol at the right level is nice but it can get unfriendly sometimes. Wonderful flowers presented by Mrs H again, the birds will love them, thanks. SOTD: PAA Cube, Rockwell "Barbershop" soap, WCS synth brush, EJ DE89 "Chrome" w/Wizamet blade, alum, Thayers, Derby City "Winter Reserve" splash and AV 5 in 1 balm...stellar. Happy Sunday Paul! Beautiful garden planter arrangement; thank you Mrs. H!! I agree with you about the Feather Hi-Stainless blades; best shaves are after the prickly first use. What I have been up to (besides household chores) is exploring a long abandoned Railroad right of way. My city once was home to 5 different railroads. This particular one was constructed in 1887 and abandoned in 1982. Lots of interesting and well build bridges hidden in the undergrowth. True, the Gillette Tech is a good razor to pair with the Feather blade. Oh, Paul...that was a Fine joke. lol. I used a menthol shave soap too and it was refreshing. SOTD: Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 knurled handle razor loaded with a 1969 Wilkinson Sword Super Sword Edge blade (8th use). LEA Mentholated shaving cream bowl lathered with a PAA Atomic Rocket synthetic brush. Finished with Thayer's AF SF skin toner and 1960 J.B. Williams Ice Blue Aqua Velva aftershave. BBS result. The vintage Wilkinson Sword blade is a superb performer. Fantastic looking shave Paul. Thank you for sharing. Stay happy, healthy, and safe! Take care.
Hi Paul, this razor that I still use today in turn with the others I own was passed to me by my father who no longer used it and had replaced it with the plastic single-blade Bic to him he gave it sister for the eighteen years (now he is 86) and still uses the Bic but I learned to use it in 2019 on April 14th also thanks to your videos. 👍👏👏👋🇮🇹 Sotd: pre-shave green proraso, ditto shaving foam, Mericas razor Wet Shaving Club USA, Wilkinson Sword Blade, rock alum, Roberts distilled rose water, Rockford Wildwhite After shave 👍💪✌
Those Tech razors are as classic as they come! Smooth, but still efficient! My shave for today is a vintage Schick injector razor (M47 date code), CAPTAIN'S CHOICE Bay Rum shave soap, Frye and Company shave balm, Clubman Bay Rum aftershave, finishing off with CBD Direct intensive hydration lotion. Also hand made Lutz synthetic brush. Thanks as always for the great videos!!!

My SOTD was with my GSC Replispeed and first use Merkur blade (blade came with my 34C but as I'd heard it was mild I never bothered using it in that); Ogallala Bay Rum & Sweet Oranges soap; Fendrihan pure badger brush; post shave was alum stick, RR Gold splash, and RR XXX balm.
Used the bloom water after my shower as my pre-shave. The soap is really nice; the smell always reminds me of a Terry's Orange chocolate. About a 4 out of 10 scent when lathered. Lots of lather - more than enough for three passes - from about 20 seconds on the puck and then straight to the face. A medium slickness (I have soaps the cost twice as much that are no more slick).
The blade was rough at first but smoothed out halfway through the first pass. Lots of feedback (but then I find that with all my TTO razors - they seem to amplify the noise) but really did the job. For perhaps the first time, I could have stopped after the second pass, as it was SAS bordering on DFS. The third pass left me with a beautiful BBS and no need for pick-ups (another first).
All told, one of my top three shaves to date. A nice way to kick off a Sunday!

I enjoy your description of the soap as your using it, very helpful. Fascinating & useful handle on that brush, could it hold a few tucks of extra blades for travel? Feather blades always give me a dramatic shave regardless my prep, equipment, technique, etc. Great finish to a great shave. Your dinner sounds a real treat! MOTD - ground sirloin steaks on the grill w/Caesar salad. SOTD - GSC Fatguy (9,5,1), Gillette WS balde (new), Palmolive stick, Gillette Cool Wave AS, Vaseline Aloe Vera balm.
Great shave. My SOTD is gonna be of the King C Gillette razor with a Gillette Platinum blade, Wholly Kaw Dulci Tobacco cream that was recently sent to me from someone, Omega 10066 brush and the Family Dollar Spice aftershave. The fly must have died of so much excitement of having to see the shave, but it’ll be proud of you getting an amazing shave

Great shave as always. Our meal of the day was 10 hour slow n low pulled pork in the slow cooker. Stunning pull apart meat. Totally delicious in a Brioche bun coleslaw and lashentoes of bbq sauce and a smidgen of chilli sauce. Cmon !

Yesterday's SOTD: new to me De Vergulde Hand /w eucalypthus oil Extra Fris soap, really nice fresh feel but not as in your face as a mentholated one. King C Gillette razor + blade (2). menthol/aloevera gel after the shave.
i had a wonderful shave today with a lord d/e closed comb ,lord blade , geo trumper spanish leather creme, yaqi 22m knot and thayers lemon witch hazel . one pass only neck up to chin l-r face down l-r great shave for the money. my motd jasmine rice and beans srachi sauce rolls and butter cup of tetley tea.

MOTD will be Nut roast. Roast potatoes. Swede and carrots mashed together. With green beans. Lashentos of gravy. Washed down with Felinfoel Double Dragon beer.

What a strong reaction to the menthol, much much stronger this time! I’ll bet the fly that committed suicide in your lather, at the very beginning dumped a very high concentration of menthol in the process. That explains the dynamite level, and strong effect on your eyesight at the end!

Great shave! I usually take a feather blade and strop the edges across a wine cork prior to the first use. Gives a better shave as the feathers can be a little ragged out of the box.
Proposal, wool fat soap, pinaud by rum, merkur 41c, and wilkinson blade. 😜🥃
Hope you're doing well mate. Another great shave as always. SOTD is going to either be the Gillette Flare Tip or the Gillette Tech travel version (you're convincing me to go with the latter) with an Astra Green blade using TOBS Sensitive soap with some sort of Semogue brush (haven't decided yet). MOTD is going to be lamb kabab with white rice and onion. Final exams are coming up this week so lots of stress but it's almost over so I'm very grateful. Gorgeous display by Mrs. H! Stay safe.

Hi Paul nice shave just goes to show you can get a good shave from what I think of as a basic razor and you don’t have to spend mega bucks. S.O.T.D. Gillette King C razor, the cheapest razor I own £13 with 5 blades and I was surprised I enjoy using it and I get a good shave. Anyone thinking of trying DE shaving this would be a good buy, TOBS St James, Nacet blade, Rose otter, Kelvin Kline Eternity and Nivea balm. I personally prefer soaps to creams ie Tabac, Mitchell’s Wool Fat any you could recommend I would be very grateful.
