One of the hardest working auto channels in australia... no ego, just cars doing their thing.
Thanks! That's been our mission from the beginning; all about the cars, not presenters.
You deserve at least 5 million subscribers very underrated Channel
Thanks :)
If it was around 45k new, I would jump on this.
$57k just too high.
Great Review once again, now deciding between the new cerato gt and gt line stinger
20k price difference 🤔
7.77sec for that much kW/Nm??? Wtf?? it's almost like the engine is stuck in Eco mode lol
it has to go through 3 gears to get to 100 becashe it dosent have much tourque down low to pull that 1750 kg
@@oldmate6380 it has its maximum torque from 1400 rpm until 4000 rpm, isn't that low?
How can KIA say it can do 0 to 100 in 6sec flat... maybe on the right road on the right day it will do 7.1sec or 7.2sec but i dont see how it could ever come near to the claimed speed.
I did 5.8
Man Cerato GT is 1 second faster to 100km/h. May as well buy that instead haha
Oh really?
Also at a Kia dealer I sat in both stinger and gt Cerato the Cerato was easier to get in and out as the stinger is slow slung sedan making it hard to enter and exit
Maybe Kia has a very little test driver....but what is really strange is that Kia claims this 6s to 100kph (in my country 6.5s with gpf) for years and is not correcting...so they sell "not truth". What about Kia Australia ?
The 6sec 0-100 is for the v6 version, which we do get as well. This video is the 4cyl model
@@cam181990 lol the v6 gets 0-100 in 4.9 secs. 6 secs is for the 4 cylinder
@@iPadGameWalkthrough my apologies you are right. I went and checked again.
@@cam181990 no worries :)
Damn man, when the escape can hit 0-100 in 6.44secs. This really needs the 2.5t. Too bad the stinger is probably getting the axe end of 2022
There was a hybrid/hydrogen version spotted in Korea so there is a chance it will stay as a hybrid
Theres no reason to miss out on it if its used. All car parts will be there because all stinger engine parts are used in most other kia, hyundai and genesis models.
Nice channel
New Stinger with old KIA logo
In Australia we don't get the new logo until the my22 model comes out
Is this the 300 hp?
2L turbo accord and Arteon are almost 2 seconds quicker to 100
Isn’t the price of the GT Line more like $61k not $57k. ?
The 330S is $57k
Woah, slow as, Kia Cerato GT is a second faster
Cerato is FWD with fewer features and looks worse.
@@iPadGameWalkthrough well looks are subjective, I personally think the Cerato looks better
The new face lift cerato gt looks mint
Why wouldn’t they put the new Sonata engine in this? More power and torque.
Only North America market and Korea.
Wait….so what this video tells us is that this ‘STINGER’ is 1.1 seconds slower to 100kph than the fantastic Cerato GT….and costs more than $20,000 more? I’m struggling to see the value…I would rather get a second hand GT…
Even the new Hyundai sonata is faster
You guys have to understand power to weight turbo lag….
I don't think it's possible for 247 PS to achieve 0-100 in 6 seconds for a car weighing more than 1700kg.
Audi does that somehow with an A4 and A5
It comes with 255 PS in my country which helps slightly I guess
@@jarosawksiazczyk3082 is the audi Quattro ? Maybe thats why. Rwd sedans with this power to weight ratio will struggle to hit 7 seconds flat.
@@fakenews3676 It is, but not just that.
Audi is also lighter (and so would be similar BMW or Mercedes), and most importantly, while KIA claims 250 it delivers about 230, and AUDI's 250 is actually closer to 260-270.
This all adds up and so that 6secs mark is perfectly doable on german cars.
Not that the Stinger is slow. In europe even 7secs to 100 is far faster than overwhelming majority of cars.
0-100 km/h very slow for a 255 hp sedan. the 2010 mercedes E350 cdi (231 hp) does 0-100 in 7 sec.
Strange result... maybe bad fuel. My stinger 2.0 245 hp with gpf without modifications on fuel 98 0-100 does just over 6 seconds. interested can check the video on my channel
Better off getting a cerato GT
Folks, it's P(late)Drive(r)TV - if you wanna know how fast the car really is, just deduct 0.5secs to the timing here (or in this case, 0.75 secs). Or you can just look & compare the performance from other yt car channels.
it's 2.5 not 2.0 4 cul
No doubt it’s a beautiful car.....but it takes off like a houseboat up the Swan River.
Almost identical figures to my 380. That's all I'm saying, nothing more.
@@bens6674 We love our Mitsubishi's.
@@bens6674 Nahh, the GT-Line Stinger is fast when rolling. It's slow from 0 cuz it's heavy. I have the Stinger GT-Line and a couple of weeks ago I raced a Mitsubishi galant V6 3.8L and I easily beat it every time
My Magna used to do 7 secs to 100 and my current Falcon does it in about 6.5 but doesn’t die in the ass after 100 due to the extra torque! That was painfully slow to watch.
@@iPadGameWalkthrough How many tines did you race the Mitsubishi?
@@mvnorsel6354 Raced after two speed bumps two times. They floored their car first every time and I easily caught up and passed them.
Nothing special about this car.
