Hi PDrive Thanks for the videos Just wondering if the driver are the same for the performance testing? If I remembered correctly, the stinger that was tested last year was under 5 seconds. Is there a reason for the difference? Maybe weight? Or safety features of the car making it less sporty?

We remember having to do around 10 different runs to achieve the previous 4.84 second time. Different car, different fuel, different weather (temp and wind) would impact times. We think this is more of a realistic time though as we achieved similar results (5.28) in the MY18 version as well.
The reason why the stinger doesn't sell as much is also due to the fact that there are no cars in the dealer for sale and no one can just walk into a dealer and look at the car and take it home instead they have to look at the car and place an order and wait 5-6 months.
Not really true. All the Kia dealers around us have Stinger's in stock, in fact one about 20 minutes away had at least 6, maybe more. It's just no one wants them mainly from fears of the shit they'll get from their friends for driving a Kia, even though it's a very good performance car. A dealer near us even had a sale for one and my dad rushed their to buy it an hour before the dealer closed. Like 3 hours later and he came home with it. Honestly impressed that the dealer actually went through the process of the purchase that close to the dealer closing.

People are preferring to buy the mustang. They didnt do their homework. The stinger is faster. 7 year warranty compared to fords 3 year warranty. Get a stinger next to the mustang. The stinger looks better. Cant figure out people buying the mustang they shut down the plants in oz and expect us to buy American mustangs. Wake up Australia. Get the stinger

I don't know how it is in your country, but I can recommend you to get the optional sports exhaust from Bastuck so you can open the exhaust with a remote. Without that the nice sounds only starts around 70km/h and I think that's sad

Almost wanted to buy this but it's longer and heavier than a 3-series. Less boot space and less comfortable for rear seat passengers. Fake exhaust tips looks especially tacky as double diameter of the pipes
Starting on all MY22 models. Not 100% sure but I’ve been told by numerous dealerships that the cars ordered now will come with them (delivery late this year)

Given the very quick 60-110 time and not so good 0-100 is it possible the tyres have been cooked by previous drivers? Assuming it’s a press car? Also is there any chance you can include 80-120 times as well? This is a more common performance metric that might be useful for comparisons
Maybe. But traction wasn't really an issue. We do remember having to do around 10 tests with the MY2020 version to get under 5.0 seconds. Our MY19-MY18 tests were more in line with this recent result. It could be that 5.20 is an honest, real-world time (it took 6 runs to achieve it - most were around 5.4 with launch control), but if you really try hard enough it can achieve
@@PDriveTV thanks, I heard the tyres scrabbling a fair bit in this video from both launch angles whereas the MY20 from last year wasn't at all like this. I understand that the figures you present aren't neccesarily from the runs shown on video however it does lend some credence that the tyres are perhaps not performing. The 60-110 is very marginally slower which seems to suggest that off-the-line traction is perhaps an issue with this particular car. Also what are your thoughts on the 80-120 question? Your vbox should provide this info.
@@user-vk4vd7vr5t Ok, you could be right. The 0-60km/h time is around 0.2 seconds difference from the MY2020 that we tested, which then multiplied to a 0.4-second gap by 100. We did check the tyres and pressures as usual and they seemed to be in good condition. Maybe the engine was breathing cooler air last time which translated to slightly more power/torque? Checking the previous video it looks like the temp was around 18dC, and this looks to be around 21dC (although we usually do Vbox testing before the video recording, so it might have been even cooler before). But overall, we're not entirely sure what the difference was caused by. We guess every powertrain will be slightly different from factory, at a microscopic level. The Vbox certainly can provide that, but it just means reconfiguring our usual times. We've been testing 60-110km/h for years now and swapping it will lose the comparability and consistency that we've always focused on. In hindsight, we probably should have started with 80-120, but we went with 60-110km/h as we thought it would be more relevant to buyers/owners considering it is within Australian speed limits - obviously the 1/4 mile is not but that's a very common and standard measure internationally, so we always wanted to include that.

They are true to the real world every surface , temperature change even how much initial pedal travel you use in the acceleration makes a difference in the overall time ! I was the same. Mustang has a 5.0 with a great sound, but it don't have 4 doors and 5 seats, so it is not as practical as the stinger. So I have a stinger :) Fucking awesome
That's because it's P(late)Drive(r)TV where nearly every fast car tested is slower by at least 0.5secs. I kid you not - just check their recent A45S - a $100K+ hyperhatch that has been tested the world over to easily do 0-62mph in 3.9s & Mr. P(late)-Drive(r) here does it in mid-5 secs. God help him.
This would have to best value for money 💸 or bang for bucks sports saloon in the world .what's wrong with the car buying public there all falling over themselves to secure a gr Yaris yet these big comfortable saloon have lackluster sales

We're not sure either. We gave it a good crack too. The MY2021 GT is around 13kg heavier, but that's not really enough to make a difference. Different car, different day, different fuel, different temperatures and wind speed/direction all impact times.

The new 3.5L V6 isn't in the Stinger even in Korea. I think you got confused with the 2.5L 4 cylinder that is in the Stinger now.

The previous test car did not have any wheel spin off the line. It could either be the road or the lack of fuel.
Keep in mind the video is not tested. We do Vbox testing separately, multiple runs.
It's a factor of everything. Time of day, ground temp, air temp, elevation and etc. In the states, my buddies stock stinger does 4.5 0-60mph.

What’s the go with the high transmission temperature message?
If u do too many launch control starts the torque converter gets too hot and you need to wait like a few minutes. Nothing big very normal
Transmission temp too high to launch. Safety first boys and girls always wrap it.

99.9999% of owners will not launch more than once on a regular basis.
Better measure time with no launch control, bcs its a lot more practical. Who uses LC in everyday driving ?

when i sat in the 3 series it felt significantly smaller and compact compared to a stinger and i especially didnt like the second row in the 3 series

@@PDriveTV I have noticed my 2022 G70 3.3T is very sensitive to fuel. Might be bad fuel/heat.
Could be due to almost no fuel in the tank, which reduces the weight in the back. More weight over the back tyres mean better traction.

How many Km's on each car is another possible factor yet there are SO many variables at play which can effect the times.
