I had my bass out when I searched this up cause I always had this song stuck in my head as a kid, and low and behold it just kinda falls into your lap when you try to play it! Easy and intuitive tune
So true. Bruce looks so much like my dad back in the day before he grew his beard. They could've been twins. Love these guys! They're my childhood, watching them in the summertime on comedy Central with my mom and laughing at them in drag lol.
@Kris Wiebe sorry everyone; show’s over. Kris has diplomatically informed us that this “art” is not, in fact, art at all. I beg you, stop wasting your time and effort.
Yes! I don't know why, but watching this made me feel like crying.... I had no business watching this as kid, lol, but I did, all the way through high school.
As a young boy, I remember my parents watching this show in the early 90s. The theme song and some of their skits stuck with me for a long time. It was Kids in The Hall, In Living Color and SNL that come to mind whenever I think of 90s comedy.
In my twenties I worked 7 days a week and coming home on Friday night to catch the CBS midnight broadcast literally kept me sane. Great music. Great comedy. I met Mark McKinney at a party with Eric Idle of Monty Python. Very cool.
I think I just figured the whole intro out - music and video. It's the comedy that comes out of the aimlessness of suburban life. Like when you have so little to work with that you work it over and over again into brilliant absurdity. With the music, you can just hear that they decided to stick with that baseline, and the guitarist played riff after riff after riff until they came up with the absolute gold we hear now. It's making diamonds out of the most boringest stones.
God I have always loved the opening theme! I found the whole 5 seasons on tubi and usually I’ll skip a tv show’s intro but not theirs! I had the biggest crush in Dave Foley and still do 🤣 I’m watching all 5 seasons then starting the new ones they made! LONG LIVE THE KINGS!! ❤️❤️❤️
Actually, I would have preferred a gap between the different intros, in order to distinguish them better. But that aside, I thought all the intros in one place was nice and convenient.
Brings back so many memories my older sister use to love this show and I loved my sister so much I would beg to watch it with her I'm 30yrs old now lol
Kids in the Hall, The State, Upright Citizens Brigade, MAD TV, In Living Color, Mr. Show, and ending with Chappelle's Show were my favorite sketch comedy series. Nothing has ever come close to matching those.
The season 3 intro was my favorite because of the way they were walking down the street at the end of it. It was also from the first episodes I ever saw on Comedy Central around 92/93
My fondest memories come from this opening. Nostalgia just bursts in the door as I hear it. My dad used to watch all the great sketch comedies. I remember quality moments being spent watching this together.
You know it’s funny I don’t think I ever realized the intros were different. I vividly recall all of the parts but in my mind it was all part of the same one intro. Weird. The show has so many layers! Such great memories.
The video quality the sound the editing the sketch comedy! Having discovered this show at the age of 12 only having three channels growing up in Canada was an amazing thing to behold. Compared to SNL at the time Kids I the Hall weren't censored as much.
Best theme song of the 90's, one of the all time great shows imho. The second it comes on I get excited and a rush of my childhood washes over me. Kids in the Hall shaped my sense of humor. My sense of rebellion and gender fluidity and satire and silliness. Forever grateful and a fan. Thank you for this mash up! Brought tears to my eyes of a bygone era and pure joyous laughter. 💗
Best 2000s theme song imo and a good show is Rescue Me. Idk if you've seen that show, one of the last shows with no pc humor, firefighter comedy drama with Dennis Leary that was on FX. Very catch theme song too
@@miamiman24 I remember it well! C'mon C'mon by The Von Bondies. Definitely sang along when it came on and the first few seasons of that show were amazing. 😉👌
This brings me back to when I was a kid watching this lol. Reminds me of better times in life. It’s amazing how just listening to this beat can take you back in time.
Every time I hear this irrefutable classic, recollections of my youth as a teen/just-barely 20-something at the time come back to the fore; before everything in my world started going sideways and totally caddywampus. My younger sibling could attest to how attuned my ears were back then, and how I would come running as fast I could to whatever TV happened to be tuned in to this magical show during the opening strains of the intro theme. As someone born and raised in the Seattle-Tacoma area, I loved KITH as much as our homegrown Almost Live! I won't likely ever have a time machine but this does a decent job as a substitute.
This song brings back great memories when I was a teenager in the 90s and we hung out with friends to smoke pot and watch the kids in the hall. greetings from an argentinian fan
Why does this make me as giddy as a child, yet bleary n teary eyed! Brings me back to a time when I was so much younger, things were so much simpler, and skit tv (MadTV, KITH, even SNL) was something we looked forward to watching
grew up in northern canada with maybe 3-4 channels this show at nights was awesome. glad to see all of them of movies and television these days in the states. they all made it.
Dave Foley at 2:54 perfectly captures my vibe in a nightclub. Just nervously having a conversation with Kevin McDonald in the corner, wondering how I got there.
The Season 4 opener was the first time I ever saw the show; they began running it screamingly early in the morning on CBS or NBC a year after the show ended in Canada.
@Why The Hell Was I In Star Trek 6? I didn't notice anything too woke. In fact Scott Thompson one of the gayest guys there are throws a rainbow flag on the ground in the sketch about the glory hole.
So beautiful all together like this, and the theme music on loop like this, just so perfect, such a creative show so glad it was around back in the day
I never watched Kids in the Hall growing up, but this song came on my Spotify randomly one day and I was blasting it in my car. Love this jam. And I also love the Super 16 film compilation intros for this show. Everything goes together so well!
I've been watching this show since elementary school. must have rewatched all the episodes 10 times. but every couple years I forget the sketches and I rewatch them !
That bass line is absolutely golden.
I couldn't agree more
Ya i love this tune
I had my bass out when I searched this up cause I always had this song stuck in my head as a kid, and low and behold it just kinda falls into your lap when you try to play it! Easy and intuitive tune
It’s been stuck in my head for like 20 years
Reid Diamond RIP
That is by far one of the best openings to a show in Television History. Love it.
This and portlandia
Have it as my ringtone
This and king of the hill lol nostalgia
I think you meant to say "The best" lol
Yes! It’s brilliant. Everything about it! The music, the photography, the EVERYTHING! There will never be another show like this…
I miss the 90s. Life is so needlessy complicated these days.
All five of them are just gorgeous little aesthetical time capsules.
Haha that’s mighty profound.

It seems to be part of a collective 90s consciousness. Simpler times.

It gives me an intense melancholic feeling.

Heavy nostalgia does the same to me.
Nicely stated.

Reminds me of getting home from school as a kid they would play all the re-runs on comedy ;)

Can totally relate to the sentiment of things (music/movies/people/etc) keeping you sane during tough times. You met Mark McKinney? Do tell! :D
what a great memory!
Amazeballs!
I could watch this on a loop for the rest of my life and not get bored.
David McFoley and Scott McThompson were two of my favorites.
Went to an improv show then other night and Dave Foley was there. The man's delivery is stellar
