Don’t Give up on Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Despite the Early Access Launch Issues…

- What’s up Everyone!! In this video I wanted to talk about Solar Crown a bit because I have been seeing a lot of negative videos popping along the lines of “don’t buy this game yet” or “it’s Terrible” and I have to admit it’s a bit frustrating, the reason is many games nowadays have problems when they release or at least some day 1 problems but these normally get fixed fairly quick!! Like for example for what I’ve seen this game is already running better today then it was on Thursday so there is definitely some Server improvements happening, there is also some bugs that need to be addressed like buy a car error which end ups duplicating cars for you which was in the beta, that definitely needs to be fixed but I think that is server side so if they get that straightened out then I think the other stuff will follow!!
I’ve also been seeing that the Graphics aren’t all that great, which is an area that does need some work at least on Consoles but it’s not game breaking. I think with some patches they could fix the stuttering issues on PS5 and then it will run a bit better!! I would think they’re planning some graphical updates for the console but time will only tell, let me know your thoughts on all of this in the comments below!!

The session timeouts/errors every single time I get into a race and kicks me out mid race is starting to get very infuriating!
That has never happened to me in the middle of a race. Right before I start yes. But in the middle of the race no. The only issue I have is loading up and having to rediscover gas stations and dealership. Now that shit is annoying. Seems like we're all having different problems.
@@elmerninis yeah just in the middle of races just says session is lost and kicks me from race so because it’s just taking so long to do anything like level up etc. But yeah your issue sounds very irritating too, they really need to hurry and up fix this before people start jumping ship and asking for refunds. I want the game to do well as it does have potential but right now I am feeling like I wasted my money 😤

my problems with game are as follows:
- poor graphical fidelity
- awful optimization for all platforms and especially for mid to low end PCs
- Always online being present in a 60-80 dollar game (according to your platform and edition)
if those listed problems are fixed i would honestly give this new "TDU" a try, even tho i still think that the game misses the mark with many TDU featuers that us tdu fans really want to see in the game..............
@@tawfeeqsh Yeah the Optimization & graphics need some work which I think they will get hopefully in the coming weeks, always online though probably won’t change awhile… Especially with the whole clan race thing
@@Blockedinsight well the main problem that is keeping me away from the game is the optimization and poor performance on mid-end PCs like mine, so at least that will do.
i can get over the graphics, not so much the constant online connectivity but aight whatever...............
Why to buy broken game and hope that they will fix it later and don't wait until they fix to buy it then and buy it cheeper? Also about motorfest it hit or miss a feature that 90% of the players don't care and don't use it, that's why no one is complaining, it's that simple
Yeah games nowadays should be releasing a better state, that’s facts!! That’s true with the Crew but it’s literally made like that and was designed like that since The Crew 1, I really like Motorfest and want it to succeed but they need to communicate better and put better updates out for it truly get better!! Having high hopes for the update in November
I'm sorry, but when I buy a product I expect it to be in an acceptable form and fit for purpose. This game is in neither condition. I don't care if they don't have the resources of a AAA developer either. They are charging premium prices, so they damn well better produce a premium product. They need to lower their prices to a level equal to the quality of the game, which at the moment, is around $20-$30 at best.

@@Blockedinsight You really ought to see it on console. On PS5 , it can't even maintain 60 fps @ 1080p. Even on "cinematic" mode it looks like garbage. The only way to have it not break your eyes is by having a top-end, 4090 pc. It's entirely unacceptable.

Agreed. I'm fuming. I bought the Gold Edition for X Box Series X. All i have been able to do so far is install the game. Any time i try to play i just get the "Connecting to proxy" screen and no further. Been like this since Thursday. I expect the game to work properly having paid £80 to include early access. What happens on 12th Sept when everyone else tries to get on. And now the Devs have gone on strike apparently! Also i can't figure out how to request a refund via the MS Store as this is a third party product sold through the Store? If anyone knows please can you provide the info?
I just hope this game doesn't end up like Concord!!😬

The Ai is ridiculous, the rubber banding and different physics is crazy. Love the challenge but this is ridiculous. You can barely catch them unless they slow down or wreck lol. Hopefully they fix that too because I do love the TDU games but they got some things to fix

My main problem is the AI, they have different phisics and if they hit anything they re not slowing down, but if I hit only 1 lamp I lost third of my speed. I already burned out after 2 days
@@laszlomagyarfalvi9390 I’ve been noticing the AI are a bit crazy, they do seem to just drive through stuff and not slow down all the time others they just slow down a lot 😂 I have a video planned talking about this a bit next week, because the AI does need something tweaks
I agree. My biggest problem now is not winning a single race, even struggling to get into the top 3. The earlier races wasn't like this but now after i'm level 20 and the AI is expert all the time it's for me at least nigh impossible to get anywhere. And no i'm far from great at driving in racing games but this is ridiulous.

I don't understand one thing about TDUSC. The game is centered about PvP but you race at most 1 other players. It was a thing in Betas, is a thing now, what are the odds it will happen again on 12th? So if I have to race alone anyway why not introduce a solo mode? Let me pause and restart races.

These devs never listen to the gamers and shit like this happens. The most basic thing was when everyone was asking and demanding for a offline mode since the 1st trailer they released which was 2020 but no they think they're smarter than us and release always online. Also Its been 3days and they still haven't fixed shit, early access my ass lol me myself paid 75 quid for it and i think its a waste. They should of released the game these times next year. The devs dont give a shit and if they did give a shit they would communicate with the community on their X page. They wait 1day to pass and then respond. The game looks like a ps3/mobile game, it defoo needs a lot of work.
Also i dont know which idiot chose KT racing to run their game because its well obvious from their previous games that they cannot handle server type games specifically for a big title like this. Anyways i recommend ppl to wait until they do a big update and then buy the game because right now its unplayable

All of us wanted that classic test drive unlimited experience and what did we get? A broken piece of crap that doesn't work and that's only online only?
This series should have stayed dead because this disrespects the OG Series.

I don't really care if it gets fixed over time, You shouldn't offer early access for a shitload of money if the game in the early access period is not playable... simple as that. I could give a fuck about bugs and glitches, but being unable to progress and enter races due to "Server is fucked up", I can not really tolerate. I did not pay extra for them to realize, that they have a serious server problem, preventing players from playing the game they paid extra for to play

Should you give Blizzard any compliments, the D4 Launch worked, for that exact reason

Servers are absolute wank on console. Shocking state for 70 quid no matter the dev size. Utter joke. TDU fans wait over a decade for this nonsense. Its literally a 1 star game rating already on PS store. What casual is going to buy a game with a user rating like that now? The worst start to a game. I hate to say it but this will effect the game big time in the long run. Shame.

I do love the game and the video you've made about it. I spoke to KingdomTwelve about this as well as it was a concern for much of the playerbase. My concern about it is the always online part, as I've asked KingdomTwelve before and I would like to have it pushed out to the world, as examples he took Forza Horizon even The Crew Motorfest, if you don't have an active internet connection it still loads us in a session but an offline session. I and many more understand that many games nowadays require an online connection to play with the DLC contents etc but at least if we buy the game we expect to have the game, when it's online only it means that if for some reason the servers have an issue we the playerbase are out of a game that we bought. I would say to add the option to choose to either play online or stay offline and play the game without going online.
@@SebVictor I 100% agree on this, would definitely be a great way to do it!! I kind of thought of the way Dark Souls games are, you can choose offline or online and do either or!! That would be best way and would make many players happy happy too

The TDUSC map along with the CarX Street map have large, dense cities which is something that is sorely lacking.

Only issue i had was a server error which took about 5 minutes to get on the game and character customization. Was able to customize at the hotel tho. Yes i bought it yesterday and played for a few hours last night and I really am enjoying it.
Yeah so far for me it’s been running pretty good, I think the server issues are currently in Europe from what I saw
I feel like they could’ve potentially prevented this horrible server issues if they had an open beta instead of only the vip one n paid one.. They would’ve had more players on the game n a more realistic estimate on how/what to tweak/improve n maneuver moving forward towards initial launch. However I’m still gonna preorder the standard n give em a chance since I gave n defended mororfest for so long
I was surprised they didn’t have an open beta just for server testing, that probably would have given them more data and stuff!! I’m having high hopes for this game though after Motorfest’s first year being pretty awful
I am enjoying this game but besides the server issues, my biggest gripe is the steering Idk if this is the right term but I feel like every vehicle has too much understeering. Especially when I am going slow it just feels like every vehicle turns wide as hell.

Games graphics look a lot better on pc. I’d be happy with them graphics. All the gameplay footage was taking on pc because they knew the console editions looked poor. Hopefully they can fix this and I would buy this game.

@@Eric.123 That is a good point, a few graphical updates for Console probably will come including optimization on both sides which is needed as well! I do think on performance on PS5 the game doesn’t look Awful but can use some work though
This game was 6 years in development! The major issue with this game right now is that you can't actually play it, which to me is a major feature that you need to deliver on day 1!

To the " old guys" like me this game lacks many TDU features. And to new people who compare this to newish titles it also doesnt have alot of appeal, so who is this game for, where does it seperate itself and does better?
The handling seems to have been tweaked so this could atleast be a good racing game, but I wont buy unless it has an offline mode...
Either I wait a year for all fixes and DLC to have an effect or a russian repacker will get the better of me...
Sometimes modders can save a game but with an always Online title thats difficult and when youre that far you could just play TDU Platinum mod :)

I wanted to really play it today as it was my early birthday gift and with today being my birthday i had more time but Honestly i had to give up playing it till a fix cause when i get in races i get disconnected or don’t get any rewards same for radiant coins they don’t add to my currency so it’s bit pointless for me currently

hey blocked, KT has fixed most of the login and race server issues for pc and mostly on consoles aswell, so that's great to see. They will 100% fix 5he servers before the full launch.

So I've defended this game from the off, but today as totally done it for me. In 8 hrs , I've successfully managed 2 races!! I can't get pass level 23 nothing saves no progression even in free roam , I'm starting to loose patience with the game very very quickly, woukd I recommend the game, yes I would, it has great potential, but don't buy it now, unless you want a heart attack because you've took a hammer to your console monitor or pc

Nah, theres is no excuse for the lack of optimization, game runs extra bad and it doesnt look anything special. If they fix the performance i may consider it, im tired of throwing money to lazy optimized games.

This guy loves talking down on motorfest yet motorfest never had issues like this and had great launch with way more content that tdusc. This TDU launch has been one of the worst of all time for racing games. 6 years in development for this garbage is inexcusable and understandable if people give up on the game. The devs were warned and did not listen do you think they will just fix things in a week? After 6 years of development? It doesn’t work like that. Launch day will be a lot worse brace yourself

Plus out all the videos I’ve made and other content creators things still haven’t been fixed, challenges still don’t work and you can even join friends for races still while the has been out a YEAR… TDUSC does need work for sure but I think they can do it right and make it great
I’m stuck in the tutorial still, after the first race my game bugged, can’t replay the first race and can’t progress as the next race isn’t available on the map, so I’m stuck basically. Seems a lot of people are having the same issue. It’s an absolute joke, pay for early access to have a bug so bad you can’t progress.
That sounds really frustrating wow, these types of bugs really shouldn’t be in the game… That will turn many away from it
Since it’s only the tutorial, delete your save and do it again. Yes it sucks that happened. It shouldn’t happen from the get go. The product should work the moment you’re able to buy and play it

Well said because I have no issues logging in on Ps5 as well although the first day it took hours, they fixed it quickly. I agree people should give it a chance because I’m having fun leveling up and exploring, it actually isn’t bad overall regardless of the graphics because the server isn’t in issue anymore at the moment.

Honestly i feel like the fact the devs of testdrive chose to the game how it is since the lack of customisation wil require the devs to work even more to put more content to test drive because there is no upgrading a car so people wil go through all the content faster...
And by happenstance is a lot of games nowadays are suffering from a lack of content wich hurts all of them a lot with only a very few not having these issues(no man's sky being a very notable example with their fishing update from just like 2 or 3 days ago with a new expedition) thus the test drive devs have worked themselves a lot more into a corner compared to racing games with customisation where each car has hundreds to thousands of options to make a car extremely close to what they want with it...

Since tc1 and tc2 were basicly better from the getgo and it would not suprise me that ubisoft just thought we'll close tc1 so moterfest would prosper but it could not because of the lack of a real scope and now it's a big fail..

Yea 0:35 it’s not the best release but people 4getting literally every racing game that has came out recently have been terrible this game not even made by an AAA company & it still has more content than any of them trash games & Ik believe me I put in big time hours in all of the big names racing games it needs a lil optimization yes everything else we have dealt with with AAA games, so give them time

I think TDUSC is done. The damage is too great. Take away the server issues, the game is not cross platform and region locked. I'm in Europe and couldn't play with my friend overseas. I was able to do that in Horizon 3 wich is getting close to being 10 years old! For what this game wants to be, an open world, always online mmo, those things are just a death sentence. I bought Gold and I'm having fun but I gave up on the thought that it'll be supported past year one.

@@jannikmatthias9289 Yeah they will hopefully change that for sure, but Motorfest had to release optimized and running good with a Billion Dollar company behind them.. That would have been a disaster for something like that, especially with what Ubisoft has been doing too

But I also do think people should like just if you’re not enjoying it step away until they fix the issues that you don’t like
My biggest issue is the grind can be a little bit punishing
Now what do I mean by that? The Ai absolute arseholes or dumb as bricks in most cases the only thing they know is speed
And the only way to win most races in daily drivers category is to use the Audi TT
If you want to use the Volkswagen beetle Lancia citron 2CV yo tough out of luck
You have to use the Audi or else you’re going to an extreme difficult time doing anything
And it’s the same thing for the offloading category as well
I’m sorry, but that’s not good enough
The AI absolute impossible. Half the times the game is literally made online only as in not what I thought online only but the fact that the game is intended for you to play with other randoms.
And I don’t really feel like playing with little Timmy and Johnny get the urge to push you off the track
That is beyond annoying and frustrating
Other than that, the game was fun. The server drove me nuts but after I got disconnected from a race three times and booted back into the free roam lobby I’m sorry but that shouldn’t be happening. The crew doesn’t have that type of issues.
And I get it they’re a small company but half of their developers are currently on strike so all of these issues your listing won’t be fixed in time for the big launch on Thursday
And apparently some of the issues and bugs have been around June and July so they’ve had plenty of time to fix it
Not to mention the fact that I was never told that this game would not have A Ai difficulty slider and that it’s intended for you to actually play with other random people and it’s not really intended for you to play with by yourself. You can but it’s really recommended and heavily pushes the fact you should be playing with other people who I’ve heard from has said the same thing.
And that’s not good enough. You can’t pause races because that is not possible because it’s intended for you to be played with other random people.
And that really was not communicated mentioned anywhere I’ve seen or if it was it was mentioned over a year ago and people of forgotten
So my biggest issue is the fact you cannot pause a race, but I can deal with that
The other issue is the slider for AI it needs to be there. I’m sorry that has to be there before I even consider coming back. I am not grinding with random people because I’m never gonna fucking win. Race or AI have more horsepower more grip and all wheel drive and blow my doors off mode and just go turbo tastic past me.
But other than that the game was enjoyable until too many of these these issues cropped up and it’s like I’m done
So I’m sorry, but I’m gonna have to stick with the crew. Yes it does have its issues but it is a far more better game and enjoyable for someone who just wants to play by himself and not have to deal with a random who will push you off track.
@@McDonnellDouglasMD-- I do agree with basically all of this, so many great points!! I actually just posted a video today talking about the AI because they’re definitely a problem, they do get really annoying the second you hit level 20 and get turn in “Expert” difficulty… It did bother me a bit how you had to use certain cars because others would be useless with how the AI are so dang fast, there’s work to be done in this game for sure which I hope they put out the proper updates but the big problem is how long will that take?!

We will see, game has issues, developers seems legit and they are listening sooo just be patient, and stop crying about £$€ I bet you can get refund they are not thieves, and go back to NFS ( thats probably main issue, TDUSC is not like NFS )* ...

Yeah the Graphic’s on console needs some work, for the most part on Performance mode I don’t think it looks terrible though
The graphics aren’t good on consoles, if we’re charging $60 for a base game in Q4 2024 then we should expect modern graphics. This game lacks that, I don’t really have server issues anymore but playing the game on PS5 low key gives me a headache
@@patkilgallon The graphics definitely need some work for sure, I was also getting annoyed in Graphics mode… Had to change it to Performance which has it’s problems but i found it better

Everyone always hate but the stuttering takes time💪🏼 the save error is pretty anoying since today it says save failed would u like to try it again but it also comes when ur in a race wich is pretty anoying but hey we can play right
