    How many cans did u use?

    what sort of coverage did you get?
    Id suggest a flash and bat method for insulation, best of both worlds.

      It’s pointless when using closed cell spray foam. 2 inches is enough to completely block air exchange.

      But for sound issues, yes I agree.

      Gently warm the cans and the gun and you’ll see a marked increase in coverage.

    How much coverage did you get for a can and approximately how many cans you go through for the area

      With the akfix gun and the nozzle with proper application you it will yield up to 3m² with 1.5cm thickness per can for one layer if applied from a distance of ~40cm with normal application speed (850 ML or 930 GR per pcs)

    That was crazy , I’m both amazed and stupefied at the same time lol, great attitude bud !,as a 20+ year veteran of actual spray foam I’ve never seen a guy us can foam to do insulation in a addition not just cracks and gaps,see in Canada that product is not certified for walls/ceilings because it’s not by design able to bond correctly to the substrate due to the lack of exothermal reaction temps witch over a season change causes massive heat lose related issues. I would love to know where you are located to know if it’s certified there?

    How much area were you able to cover with each can?

    • @minspiredliving
      @minspiredliving  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      According to the can you can get up to 32 square feet per can, but it really depends on how you spray. On average I got about 20 square feet per can.

  • @ljamalama1

    Might want to block the eaves off with cardboard and spray over them otherwise that’ll be a massive heat loss and cause really bad ice if you live in a cold climate.

  • @hasyour7257
    @hasyour7257 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You really werent much help. How thick did you spray it to cover 20 square feet per can? What area do you live? One inch is 5 R so fiberglass would be cheaper to install even at 19 R

  • @Mail4marc
    @Mail4marc ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It looks to me like he had an average coverage of about 2" which would have an R - 12 insulation value. R-13 would cost much less, would install much faster, much cleaner (no masking) and lastly greater insulation value. Additionally, should anyone desire to run wires in the future to accomodate a particular need or change in technology, the foam makes those basic tasks nearly impossible or at the very least will be significantly more labor intensive.

    • @miterbox7031
      @miterbox7031 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      R value doesn’t mean anything in the spray foam world. 2-2.5 inches and you have totally blocked all air and water passage.
