Why can't some of you just watch and not give these guys a hard time, Doug you just do what is right for you and your family. I'm here to support you All.

That is what I was going to suggest, grind the rust off and spray paint it to stop the rust. I know what you mean about investing too much already in it to let it just go. Yep so if the engine is good then yes it is salvageable! I had a friend who owned a old rust bucket van, no way to salvage it to the point of it running again., but she did a cool thing and turned the old square van into a green house, it sounds odd but that is what she did. Not all projects are as easy as we thought they would be. Sometimes, things like that happen. Glad the motor isn't bad. If you run it for a while, you may want to think about changing the oil and filter again in case it washed any more of that sludge out. I have seen other folks do the same when they find a gunky engine like that. I am looking forward to seeing where you go with this. This is your channel, just happy to see how others do things and make decisions. Who knows, it could really be something once it is done.
It’s bad news when a seller misrepresents the condition of a vehicle that is as bad as you described. Hope you are able to make a positive move with what you have.
It probably also has heavy sludge under the valve covers and the intake manifold. If not removed, it will probably start coming loose and clog the oil pump screen again. I had this happen to me once after purchasing a used car. I ended up removing probably a gallon of sludge. It is also good to verify the oil pressure using a mechanical gauge.
Might be worth looking into fitting a travel camper body onto the chassis, if you have the expertise to do something like that. Otherwise do whatever is best for you and the family and don't worry about the naysayers 😊
Smart move, making sure the lemon isn't totally rotten. I look forward to seeing you take this lemon and making lemon aide out of it. It may take a while, but that's o.k., it will be an interesting "change of pace" when you do post something about it. 👍

Glad the engine is good and that is the heart of the bus. Thanks for the update. I look forward to your videos. I know you and Eevee do your best and you have the knowledge to do so. Don't pay attention to what people say you know what you are doing and you do it well. Take care. I look forward to your next video.
This is such a great lesson for your kids to observe. How many of you have adult children who bought a ‘lemon’? Doug must have a father who was a mechanic, carpenter, plumber, electrician and TH-camr! By taking it all apart, you dug deep for all the facts. Then decisions are easy.
I would get a good rust converter from somewhere like Eastwood and brush that on all the rust after wire wheeled off....THEN use the rust type of paint
I never comment bad or give you guys a hard time on things y’all’s decision it’s for y’all to make you will work it out one way the other and I just enjoy watching you guys
Doug whoever sold you that bus aught to be ashamed of themselves!!! It’s hard to believe there are people like that in the world, but unfortunately there is. I hope they are able to sleep well at night knowing what they did to you. What ever you decide to do I know all of us that love and care for you and your family will be right there with you. I feel so bad for you guys,I just can’t understand how someone could sell you this but I’m confident you will fix it and it will turn out great! ❤️🥰
I always said that if you are going to sale a used vehículo be honest and said what it's wrong with it...but that guy said it was in excelente condition..
I hope you can throw some heavy plastic sheeting or a new large heavy duty tarp to keep the bus dry. I'm looking forward to watching your progress on reworking this bus. Take your time and do what you and Eevee want for your future, for your family. Take care. Patricia
Love watching you redo things , whatever it may be.
I know you all cannot only fix it, but it will be something that you make very unique and nice!!! You have my support!!! I haven’t seen anything that has knocked you all day en, you are all very strong and determined!!! I really enjoy your channel and have for years!!!
Should say down not day en🤔🤪
I have been watching you guys for years and I know when your heart is into it you can do almost anything, I believe you will fix the bus, I have no doubts and it was smart to be sure the engine was good, don’t forget the transmission, if the oil smells and looks bad and dirty address that.
And we too have been misled by “used car salesmen” so we feel for you there. Thank you for taking us along on your adventure, my wife and I have watched your family grow and love your channel:)
I’m glad the motor is good. Some don’t mind throwing money away. I’m sure the bus will turn out great!!!
It sounds like a great project. Take your time. Enjoy the process.
I have always admired Doug's logical thinking and his ability to tackle problems I would walk away from. I'm looking forward to seeing you persevere in getting that bus back on the road. Good Luck turning that sow's ear into a silk purse, if anybody can do it you can. Phil
thanks for filling us in Doug.
Doug if you feel the engine is good then go for it and totally understand why ur not going to show alot of the bus work❤️🇨🇦
Im just shocked to hear you say there is something you can't do! You will totally transform this van! I can't wait to see your progress! I know you will fix it up and it will be amazing!
I will look forward to how you move forward. 👍
I agree with you on fixing the newer bus.
You can do it Doug. Your the only guy I know that can, make a mountain outta a mole hill! I have faith in you and I know Ashlee does. She's right there with ya. God Bless, Love, Granny
Thank you so much.
@@zippythechicken I love that Zippy! Granny😂
Thanks for the update. I look forward to your videos. I know you and Eevee do your best and you have the knowledge to do so. Don't pay attention to what people say you know what you are doing and you do it well. Take care. I look forward to your next video.
Hang in there you will get it!
You should send this video to the crook who lied to you about it. Shame on him! I support your decision to try to keep it and see what you can do 😊❤
❤❤❤. I stand with you.
Doug, Om sorry you are having a hard time with this bus 😫. I’m confident you will find the best solution for your needs . I’m here to support you ❤!!!
POR 15. Never used it but heard it is good though expensive
Good morning ☀️ the bus is a big project for sure, you guys have a super blessed day❤
I never comment bad or give you guys a hard time on things y’all’s decision it’s for y’all to make you will work it out one way the other and I just enjoy watching you guys
Can’t wait till you start fixing the bus up 👍
Doug whoever sold you that bus aught to be ashamed of themselves!!! It’s hard to believe there are people like that in the world, but unfortunately there is. I hope they are able to sleep well at night knowing what they did to you. What ever you decide to do I know all of us that love and care for you and your family will be right there with you. I’m sure we’ve all bought things that aren’t what we expected they were. You do what is good for your family and we’ll be right beside you all the way. Until next time. ❤❤❤❤😅
I’m so sorry you have to go through this. Staying positive to know if anyone can fix it you two can. ❤
At the very beginning, I thought you were in an Ice Cave. All the blue tarps. When I'd hike up to the ice caves at Paradise...going inside was beautiful blues everywhere. Of course, that was 55 years ago, and they have since closed.
