They have an outdoor focus and want more warm weather. They don't hunt. They want to garden. So they moved south. Great choice.

I have to say it was a shock that they moved. I didn’t expect that, I’m glad they are happy. It does go to show how little you really see about a channels life. They were able to sell move and pack and we were none the wiser. Good for them.

My TH-cam algorithm must’ve been triggered cos all your old videos keep popping up! It’s been 2 years so I thought I’d look at this again. I really could identify with your feelings up north. I was born in the US, Utica NY to immigrant parents from the UK. I lived in both countries growing up, but my most formative years were in NJ. I never fit in cos everyone thought my family was ‘weird’-we didn’t watch football on Sundays, our family car was a 13 yrs old Volvo (it was seen as very unpatriotic not to buy an American car & kids teased me about the ‘old’ ugly car); we only had a little B&W tv cos it wasn’t a priority to us. Moved to UK at 15 & fit in, went to nursing school BUT met a man & moved to US to marry him, had children, lived & worked in Rochester NY. BACK TO NOT FITTING IN. THE SOCIAL PRESSURES ON ME, MY KIDS, TO CONFORM WAS SO INAPPROPRIATE FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD. People couldn’t accept anyone who was different. I lived for my family but hated living under those circumstances. When my husband of 25 yrs left me for someone else & kids were grown I returned to visit family in the UK & met my now husband. I feel I belong here and live in a multicultural area where there’s no pressure to conform & I can just be myself. My sons hope to move here too, they feel at home here- but they also see the US as home. I hadn’t thought about this in awhile, but thought I’d share with you, as I really connected with everything you were saying about not fitting in in MI. I’m so glad you took that leap of faith & have found the place that’s right for you- & over the past 2 years I’ve seen how happy all of you are there. What a gift that is.
Well I'm happy for you...but I think many of us were under the impression while watching you endlessly rebuilding another house and Declaring that you finally got what you were looking for....which made us all cheer you on more....cause we were happy for you. I live in Michigan and I understand why you moved.....but wow Florida.....I was wondering after you got the house finished how long it would be till you found the next house.....the bus was ok.....but houses are what your best at....wish you guys the best always....and I sure hope things go well for you there.....

Never live with regrets, life is too short. I thought as a barber i would never be able to retire. But i am on Aug 2 2021 early retirement as i turn 62 on the 3rd. Just like ya'll kept your dreams on Fla and here you are. It takes a lot of discipline to set a course as you guys have. Im glad you did and now see fruition of that desire. No time for what if's.... Just do it..I was born in Fla, traveled around the world some thanks to the US govt. And have lived in northern middle Tn for most of my life. My moves are done, no more. It's none of my business at all and I only know what I've seen on the videos but I've thought many times that Ashley looked very unhappy in Michigan. It's like some turned the light back on and I'm glad to see you found a way to do what works best for YOUR goals.

I was born in Michigan, but I never felt like I belonged there. After High School I lived in several states out west, especially Arizona where I lived for most of 4 decades! I loved it out west, but now I have been in Vermont for 20 years. Yes, I'm old! I love Vermont. I don't miss the heat of Arizona at all. I feel very healthy in Vermont. Everyone is DIYfferent!!!!

Congratulations. Welcome to Florida. I too am a Michigan transplant. I didn't like the cold and snow either. This will be like ancient history, but in 1976 we came here and never left. It will be an adjustment, mostly fun, but Doug, you're going to have to change your clothing color to a lighter one, you will cook wearing black all the time .. LOL One thing I would suggest doing now, hurricane season has started and to have a supply of food, water and necessary items, incase power goes out. we moved to Fl. 20 yrs ago from Pa. and never looked back, give your body 2 months to thin your blood and the heat will no longer be an issue, YOU WILL LOVE IT. Welcome home!!
We lived in Florida after moving from Ohio from 2016 to 2018. We live near Mobile, Alabama now. We lived just North of Panama city prior till hurricane Michael flattened it. So far Alabama life has been much kinder to us. If you're going to live in Florida, my advice is to buy a 12000 kw+ dual fuel generator and lease a 1000 gallon propane tank. When hurricanes knock the power out it can be weeks to months before power is restored.

We always lived in the south but then moved out west. Found out we are definitely made to be planted in the south. So that’s where we moved back to. Things work out where you’re suppose to be otherwise it just doesn’t work. Hope you’re where you’re suppose to be and it works out great!

I am SOOOO happy for you. It’s overwhelming, BUT, I can see such a wave of relief, relaxation and happiness in Ashley’s face and in her voice. I feel the same way when I’m in Florida. Upstate New York is cold and depressing for 7 months out of the year. My daughter packed up her Jeep and moved to Florida right after she graduated from college six years ago. She says she will never move back to NYS. We plan to buy a fixer upper in Florida when my husband retires in a few years. Maybe keep our house here since it’s paid off. Who knows. I love your sense of adventure and am so happy for your family 🙏🏼❤️
i have lived all over the USA and the only state i ever felt at home at is FLORIDA been here 3yrs now am 61 in 10 days so pray i get to enjoy it with my time left! my husband of 25yrs left me for a 25yr old girl im broke on SSI and know no one but still happy i am in FLORIDA u will luv it guys
Very happy for you. However, I tried for 6 years to adapt to Florida and I hated Flordia. Hot humid weather, alligators on the move in every lake and Park, crime and road rage everywhere, and hurricanes hurricanes hurricane. But I truely hope you will like it.

We moved from Michigan to Florida too and it was SO GREAT for our mental health!! I used to get seasonal depression and really struggled with winters. I moved from Illinois because I hated the Climate, Cost of Living, and the Commute (I lived in the suburbs, but worked in Chicago - 3 hours every day). I've been here for over 20 years and love it. My parents were from the south so I think I was born with southern blood. I'll be praying that you will be happy.

I was born in Michigan, but I never felt like I belonged there. After High School I lived in several states out west, especially Arizona where I lived for most of 4 decades! I loved it out west, but now I have been in Vermont for 20 years. Yes, I'm old! I love Vermont. I don't miss the heat of Arizona at all. I feel very healthy in Vermont. Everyone is DIYfferent!!!!

@@diyfferent I just figured you are building up your Equity even more as you guys sold your place in Michigan. We sold 4 places and each time our Equity kept growing. We now have no Mortgage and enjoying Retirement. I can’t wait to see the next video. I hope it will be soon.

Congratulations. Welcome to Florida. I too am a Michigan transplant. I didn't like the cold and snow either. This will be like ancient history, but in 1976 we came here and never left. It will be an adjustment, mostly fun, but Doug, you're going to have to change your clothing color to a lighter one, you will cook wearing black all the time .. LOL One thing I would suggest doing now, hurricane season has started and to have a supply of food, water and necessary items, incase power goes out. Big perk: no state income tax. Give yourself some time to acclimate. Work early, break in the mid-day heat and then pick it up late afternoon until dark. Heat/humidity combo is no joke.

we moved to Fl. 20 yrs ago from Pa. and never looked back, give your body 2 months to thin your blood and the heat will no longer be an issue, YOU WILL LOVE IT. Welcome home!!

We lived in Florida after moving from Ohio from 2016 to 2018. We live near Mobile, Alabama now. We lived just North of Panama city prior till hurricane Michael flattened it. So far Alabama life has been much kinder to us. If you're going to live in Florida, my advice is to buy a 12000 kw+ dual fuel generator and lease a 1000 gallon propane tank. When hurricanes knock the power out it can be weeks to months before power is restored.

And I think it says a lot about what kind of people you are to have put in all that hard work in the Michigan home knowing you weren't going to stay. So glad you had a safe trip! We always lived in the south but then moved out west. Found out we are definitely made to be planted in the south. So that’s where we moved back to. Things work out where you’re suppose to be otherwise it just doesn’t work. Hope you’re where you’re suppose to be and it works out great!

I am SOOOO happy for you. It’s overwhelming, BUT, I can see such a wave of relief, relaxation and happiness in Ashley’s face and in her voice. I feel the same way when I’m in Florida. Upstate New York is cold and depressing for 7 months out of the year. My daughter packed up her Jeep and moved to Florida right after she graduated from college six years ago. She says she will never move back to NYS. We plan to buy a fixer upper in Florida when my husband retires in a few years. Maybe keep our house here since it’s paid off. Who knows. I love your sense of adventure and am so happy for your family 🙏🏼❤️
i have lived all over the USA and the only state i ever felt at home at is FLORIDA been here 3yrs now am 61 in 10 days so pray i get to enjoy it with my time left! my husband of 25yrs left me for a 25yr old girl im broke on SSI and know no one but still happy i am in FLORIDA u will luv it guys
Very happy for you. However, I tried for 6 years to adapt to Florida and I hated Flordia. Hot humid weather, alligators on the move in every lake and Park, crime and road rage everywhere, and hurricanes hurricanes hurricane. But I truely hope you will like it.
If anyone can turn a property and house from coal to a diamond it is your family. You are all hard workers not afraid to get in there and get it done good luck
We moved from Michigan to Florida too and it was SO GREAT for our mental health!! I used to get seasonal depression and really struggled with winters. So many people had a lot to say about it but you have to do what’s best for you and your family, and only you know what that is. I hope you all really enjoy your new home!

I moved from Illinois because I hated the Climate, Cost of Living, and the Commute (I lived in the suburbs, but worked in Chicago - 3 hours every day). I've been here for over 20 years and love it. My parents were from the south so I think I was born with southern blood. I'll be praying that you will be happy.
