  • Watch Full Interview: • Aries Spears on Kanye,...
Part 6: • Aries Spears: Mike Tys...
    Part 8: • Aries Spears: Dennis R...
    --------
In this clip with Aries Spears, the subject of Dominique Wilkins was brought up, with the consensus being that he was one of the most underrated NBA players. Despite constant comparisons to sports legends like Jordan, Wilkins' performance was not stated as his fault. Rather, it was suggested that he played for a weak team. However, it was highlighted that if Wilkins had had backing support like Kobe & Shaq or Jordan & Pippen, he might have had a shot against the Bulls. This was particularly so during the period when Jordan went to play baseball. Wilkins' contribution to the Atlanta team, which last won a championship in 1958, was celebrated. Vlad and Aries Spears also spoke about the current status of Jordan and Pippen's relationship and LeBron James, which can be viewed in the clip above.

I don't really watch to much with this guy but happened to see this. Most Jordan fans are something. They can make all the arguments for why Jordan is superior to Lebron but when you make a counter argument you're a "BronSexual"; yet they don't see themselves as the equivalent for Jordan? Think about it. They were talking about Jordan and Pippen. Lebron wasn't mentioned and he brings him up then cuts at anybody who thinks Lebron is the best.
That's the m.o. of most Jordan fans. They call you some delusional fanatic for feeling someone else is better than Jordan. But if you think about it; whose really the delusional fanatic? Is it someone who feels a player is an all-time great but just happens to feel someone else is the greatest; or someone who feels anyone who picks a person other than their pick is delusional?

I am old enough to watch Jordan and Lebron in their primes. There is no comparison Jordan was clearly better. The thing you keep leaving out is most of Lebron's fans never even saw Jordan play when it was happening. Jordan fans can actually compare both because they saw them both play. Lebron fans don't have the complete picture. Not to mention Lebron's final records is a disgrace.

@@H0VAI'm old enough to have watched Jordan in the 80's. The highlight of the 80's for Jordan was barely beating the Cavs in the first round on a buzzer beater to win the series. In the NCAA championship, Worthy was the MOP, not Jordan. Jordan put up numbers but that's it. He never beat the other great teams. His finals victories were against Utah, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, and a post-Showtime Lakers team. None of those teams had won a championship.

Thank you Aries. That's the point I always said. Bulls replaced every player except pippin and still won. He just need that type of player with that skill set. Had Paxson, hodges, Armstrong, Kerr. Still got it done....catch and shoot type guard. Big men who can rebound and give him second chance points and hit free throws. Cause all those centers was trash. So why don't believe you take Pippen off that team and give him Wilkens or a Worthy, or Drexler, Mitch Richmond. They might not possess All of Pippens defense. But where they lack they was extremely more offensive gifted.

One thing that people exclude is what Jordan did outside of playoffs, rings, etc…..
    1. Revolutionizing the game in its entirety
    2. Gatekeeping some of the best players, duos, etc from winning titles
    3. Repeatedly posterizing some of the greatest big men to ever do it as a 2 guard

The one point nobody makes or forgets and Aries killed this debate by the way its Jordan all day for those reasons but adding to it is there was NO FREE AGENCY in the 80s. You had to play with what you had you couldn't just leave or get other great players to play with you. You had to win with who drafted you unless you were traded. So yes it took Jordan 7 years to win it all they had to build that team to go up against established Eastern Conference teams the same teams every year til you beat them

    I disagree and here's why:
I totally get the notion that Jordan and Bryant were better than James by the "eye test". Yes, Jordan and Bryant were doper -- meaning they had smoother, cooler moves and seemed to have more of a ferocious attitude. But I think if we look at the full careers objectively, James is the greatest player ever. LeBron is like Magic Johnson and Karl Malone combined. His combination of physicality, passing, rebounding, shot blocking, steals, creating opportunities for teammates and scoring both inside and outside -- unmatched. He is the most complete basketball player of all time.
NO other player has been as successful in the playoffs as consistently, no matter who they played with, who they played for, and what system they played in. NO other player has led three different franchises to championships.
During the peak of his career, it was simply expected that he would lead whoever he was with the Finals. Eight years in a row.
Look at it this way -- LeBron is #1 all-time in playoff wins, points, assists and steals! Think about what that means -- He has MORE PLAYOFF ASSISTS than ALL of the greatest point guards -- Magic, Isaiah, Stockton, Payton, Kidd, Nash, etc. IN ADDITION to being the #1 post-season scorer of all time, AND #1 all-time in playoff steals?! The same dude! That's fucking crazy! LeBron is the GOAT.
