Can't believe I've watched that whole build series. Love the car so far. I think you're right about the lights, they look good but just no there yet. Personally I like it when tail lights have all three colors red, yellow and white, makes it feel like the early 90s
You definitely chose a fairly easy lens swap compared to some I've seen. But damn a 10:36 gave me an idea. A black bezel to take up space and tail lights matching the holes in the rear panel.
Wow! This is the video I was looking for. Every time I would see your description mentioning v8 swapped accord, I never saw the engine until now. This is very nice. I am happy.
I like the bulky look of the mustang taillights. Plays off the fender flares. Maybe do some custom led lights that can run side to side to give that update look at night
I think it looked really good with the mustang tails full size. I think a bit of fiberglass work would get you there and wouldn't have to destroy the paint.
The lights look good. It reminds me of the 90s when custom cars had taillight swaps from totally different cars. Maybe 3D printing is an option for getting those lenses exactly how you want them.
Glad to see that you're addressing the taillights. Sad that the solution for it isn't clear. I hope you find a solution soon without too much hair pulling.
I hope you get the tail lights figured out. I love how you did the burn effect to those crates; they look like they go with the work bench, yet custom at the same time!
I think you are 100% on the right track.. there are videos out there on how to make custom tail lights or led tails for a car and you could use the same concept and just make a factory looking lens if that's what you want or make a black out with led or whatever.. I think they would look awesome
Clear tails will look soooo good. I didn’t like them when I was younger but for some reason now I love them. Plus even Porsche is doing clear tails now lol
Thank you for sharing and teaching us short cuts and showing us the jobs to save money on. Great job , looks great. Who would have thought about the Mustang lenses would have worked. Great idea. 👏 👍🏽 👌
Bode, I’ll always be a fan! But when I saw these lights ideas 😳… soo glad you opted out in the end.. I’m sure you are trying to push creativity for the tube.. but if I’m honest, I’d keep the outside as original as possible, even putting import wheels to match the car! Less is more in this case. You slayed it! And we all watched! Stoked for the future projects as always!
That’s that thinking out side the box I vibe with. I actually have a 87 Foxbody and a 87 fc rx7 . I may play with this for tails on the rx7 . I have the 89 up s5 tails now . But still have my s4 stocks . . Look forward to the finished product 👊🏼🍻
Honestly, that OEM Honda tail light design look great and have always been a fan of them. They have a slight tint and look great. If you still want to mod them, Maybe look into a different lense design. Dimensions are a big factor so possibly going to the junkyard with a measuring tape and see what out there. BTW, love the build and the shop build !! You gave me some motivation to work on mine 👍🙌
Have you considered flipping the lenses? Left lens on the right, right lens on the left to have the clear lense on the bottom to try and hide the mustang from the lenses lol
Happy New Year wishes from New Zealand. The idea of clear Lenses and colored LED's I think will be great, I have 16 years in the Plastic trade and still learned something. 😊🚗
Wow, you have a understanding wife to let you use the oven for this project! I painted a valve cover one time & baked it in the oven, Mom was not happy!
I own a 1989 Honda Accord. Bought it and it was trashed. Fixed everything up, EXCEPT FOR THE TAILLIGHTS. I was told that trunk lids on the 3rd gen accords are interchangeable, but I like the length of the ones on the 89. I personally feel like the lights specifically on the trunk lid are much too short on the other trunks.
have watched every episode it is a amazing build Honda body Holden suspension & drivetrain, the mustang tail lights look great its a full custom car should look unique and one of a kind . And for the keyboard warriors the sad excuse for a Pontiac 2004 - 2006 gto is a rebadged Australian Holden Monaro still a bad ass car just isn't a gto kind of like what doge did rebadging a neon and calling it the dart
Sitting here thinking about similar tail lights, what about other similar aged Hondas like a 88-91 EF hatchback? Worth a shot! Also, loving the videos, keep it up
Just an idea. They have those polly/plastic pellets for doing the faux stained glass at hobby lobby that you bake in the oven. Maybe you could fab a mold for the lenses and use the stock housings. Might be fun. Just an idea.
I like the look but also think if you could figure out to make the factorys circle rather then rectangle and color match the whole light theyd look good too. And prob less of a headache
Not gonna lie the fox body taillights looks really good but lots of modifications to button up it would be cool if there was a way for the original lens to go clear 🤔 or Mold The original Tail lights With Acrylic or i wonder if ae86 taillight would work i saw this on the comment section it has the almost same dimensions just about but happy new year man 👌🏽 #bodesqaud #projectbettywhite #2023 #milestoneto100k
New to the channel, love the build. Maybe you’ve already done this before, but One trick I’ve done in the past at different shops, is taking my clear and mixing in a little bit of color (usually black urethane base but in your case red) and tinting my clear. Then just take your tail light, scuff with some 600 and clear it. In the scenario that you buy clear tail lights, you could tint them to your preference to fit with the Accord housing. Just an idea, love your content
Even with the full lenses it looked pretty good my opinion .....but Sure will be a nice custom touch to the ride...the garage cabinet look super .....🙂👍🙏
I used to have a 86 accord lx-i hatch in college, I got rid of it at 292k miles due to the engine dying, I wish to this day, I'd driven it to my parents house and thrown a tarp over it, this car handled way better than my 94 acura integra.
Oh I really liked the stock tail lights, they looked interesting. Maybe make fiberglass molds off the stock tails and make compound tail lights or something? Maybe with those little round hella lights all the 80s and 90s supercars uses. Or maybe see if you can use EF civic tail lights?
Just use the oem style mustang lights, have em trimmed down like you do, and disregard the stock bulb locations not lining up and use l.e.d.'s laid out in a way where they do line up. Collab with chris flyryde or something. You have a really interesting idea and I think you should see it through.
The mustang fit and look better than I'd ever guess but if it were me, I'd just keep looking for better stock replacements. Getting the mustang sealed well and looking nice seems like a lot of effort for little return.
You should try and find some 79-82 mustang lights or some 83-86 mustang lights. They have a more of a retro look. I think they would look better in my opinion. But still this was cool to watch.
For the clear taillight lenses I’m assuming it’s just clear clear … sand the inner side of the lenses so the outside is still glossy but you won’t see directly through it and see the ugly housings
that 10% of unknown will probably open alot of future doors for customization. i know for me alot of vehicles suffer from shitty headlight and tail light options, so having the ability to customize and modernize them will just translate to other builds you may do and need to work on
If you can send out a fresh tail light housing wit the lense you intend to use i could 3D print something that might make it easier to seal or a custom tailight all together. Love the work my guy.
I think you should get the Chrysler Shelby Daytona tail lights they would look awesome they're a little bit more sleeker than the mustang lights and a little bit rounded and not as rough looking.
Foxbody Lenses can work!...I wish you pop in some LED Halos or LED Strips etc..I built my own Custom Tails I use "Diode Dynamic" Brand Halos they have the Brightest ones on the Market!....
Can't believe I've watched that whole build series. Love the car so far. I think you're right about the lights, they look good but just no there yet. Personally I like it when tail lights have all three colors red, yellow and white, makes it feel like the early 90s
Thats a hang on to forever car built it from scratch its so clean
Just my 2 cents, keep hunting for so OE Tails. Part of the fun is the hunt.
You definitely chose a fairly easy lens swap compared to some I've seen.
But damn a 10:36 gave me an idea. A black bezel to take up space and tail lights matching the holes in the rear panel.
I was thinking the same thing man
Hope you can find a clean set of OEM Honda taillights... and add LED bulbs.
Yes this would be the best option!
The foxbody lights look dope.
My first Honda was a new 1987 Accord Hatchback! Loved that car!! Everything was manual in it. ❤️
So excited to see the clear lenses with leds
I hope you get the tail lights figured out. I love how you did the burn effect to those crates; they look like they go with the work bench, yet custom at the same time!
Most underrated intros of all TH-cam!
HAPPY NEW YEARS TO THE CHANNEL that's like a Brother from another mother..
Makes sense.. looks really good
I think you are 100% on the right track.. there are videos out there on how to make custom tail lights or led tails for a car and you could use the same concept and just make a factory looking lens if that's what you want or make a black out with led or whatever.. I think they would look awesome
I say no on the foxbody taillights. Use the stocks with a a plastic lens with leds. Plz no on the fox lenses
Damnnnnn those taillights look good on the accord!!🔥
Clear tails will look soooo good. I didn’t like them when I was younger but for some reason now I love them. Plus even Porsche is doing clear tails now lol

Always wanted a hatch accord when I was kids. This thing is sick
clear or shadowed lenses might work, I like the simple lines of these lights vs the stock accord ones
This is another vote for the full size mustang lights. It might be different in person but on the video it looks good.
I love this channel
The Mustang lights are unique on here, cool idea!
Have you considered flipping the lenses? Left lens on the right, right lens on the left to have the clear lense on the bottom to try and hide the mustang from the lenses lol
Do it too it!! They look sick for sure! Would love to see the finished product
Happy New Year wishes from New Zealand. The idea of clear Lenses and colored LED's I think will be great, I have 16 years in the Plastic trade and still learned something. 😊🚗
Accord is looking absolutely amazing 👍😎
This is by far the nicest Honda ever !
Wow, you have a understanding wife to let you use the oven for this project! I painted a valve cover one time & baked it in the oven, Mom was not happy!
Looks terrific and sounds good
Awesome little video
Not gonna lie. Those mustang taillights look badass. I never would've thought

I love the idea of that car so much, I bought a 96 accord coupe and looking for the right donor car
The mustang tail lights look killer!
could also build a vacuum forming table out of a shop vac and scrap wood. make custom lenses out of clear acrylic sheet.
You could get clear lenses and get red taillight wrap and wrap it red where you need and leave it clear where you need
I remember that car I used to have one back in the day that's pretty cool buddy
have watched every episode it is a amazing build Honda body Holden suspension & drivetrain, the mustang tail lights look great its a full custom car should look unique and one of a kind . I like your rear window louvers
Have same on my Accord 2.0
That looks really good!

time to give that mad-lad's flex seal a try
Another great video 👍👍Happy New year's
My first nice car... A blue hatchback. Ready to buy another, cash ready...searching for 3 years now
I think they looked great.
BRO YOUR ALMOST TO 100K!
Cutting another plate bezel to keep the whole light.then leds give it a more updated look.

Def get the smoked lenses. That'll look dope
Even with the full lenses it looked pretty good my opinion .....but Sure will be a nice custom touch to the ride...the garage cabinet look super .....🙂👍🙏

I think that would look amazing with clear lenses I've always loved the foxbody clear lenses so yes I vote 110% for it
I’m intrigued on the hondordac
I drive an ae86 our taillights look very similar in size and shape. the 86 has some pretty cool jdm tail light options.
Finally it’s built ❤❤❤❤
love this build man 🤘
Oh I really liked the stock tail lights, they looked interesting. Maybe make fiberglass molds off the stock tails and make compound tail lights or something? Maybe with those little round hella lights all the 80s and 90s supercars uses.
Or maybe see if you can use EF civic tail lights?
I was subscribed a long time ago, then YT decided to unsubscribe me. Now I'm back. Good no great work man!

Modify the original housing to fit the LED'S, then fit the new clear Mustang lenses. 👌Happy new year mate.🎆
This looks nice man I'm trying to see what tail lights I can get on my yaris it's hard to find parts for those cars
Wow looks awesome bro
Thanks 👍
less goo bode monday
Smoke the taillight lens that would look sick!
Do the oval truck light
I'd go a different route. But love the car and ur content bro
I’d leave the mustang lenses full size and 3d print or make custom backing to fill in the gap and would also hide the plate light housings 🤷♂️
You should try and find some 79-82 mustang lights or some 83-86 mustang lights. They have a more of a retro look. I think they would look better in my opinion. But still this was cool to watch.

First time seeing this car that us sick af bro
Hey dumb question but have you consider having lenses 3D printed? it would open up tons of options. Just a thought .
I wonder if AE86 taillights would work for this car. They have similar designs, and they have more after market support as well.
I would like to see the OEM ones.
that 10% of unknown will probably open alot of future doors for customization. i know for me alot of vehicles suffer from shitty headlight and tail light options, so having the ability to customize and modernize them will just translate to other builds you may do and need to work on

yes! Email me, I can send the removed lense as well as the housing. Adamest93@gmail.com
Wondering if the 99-2004 ford mustang sequential tail lights would have looked good 🤔
those dont look anything like the shape I need.
Whered you get the back window cover?
Isn't there a youtube channel that does taillight restoration including led packages
You know what would be sick, if you can fit the 1pc. Crx or civic tail lights on there
They look good from a distance but the fitment looks tough to fix. To bad the cars already painted or body working them in wouldn’t be a big deal
I think you should get the Chrysler Shelby Daytona tail lights they would look awesome they're a little bit more sleeker than the mustang lights and a little bit rounded and not as rough looking.
Makes me miss my 88 lx sedan 5sp
Foxbody Lenses can work!...I wish you pop in some LED Halos or LED Strips etc..I built my own Custom Tails I use "Diode Dynamic" Brand Halos they have the Brightest ones on the Market!....
Sand the old ones down and polish them up will be mint altgough the full mustang lights worked i thought
AE86 Toyota Corolla hatchback taillights could be a closer match to the '88 Accord hatchback taillights. Just a thought. 🙂
Bro those taillights would look sick
I'm in the Merritt island area
Go for it custom always makes it your own style 👍🏽👍🏽
