British sitcoms don't have writers rooms, the whole show tends to be written by either one person, or a writing duo partnership. So all of this was written by John Sullivan, all of Father Ted was written by Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews, all of Friday Night Dinner was written by Robert Popper, all of The Royle Family was written by Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash. So in the case of individual writers, they come up with absolutely everything all by themselves, there's no spitballing ideas
Chiggins_ - Goodnight Sweetheart and My Family had writing teams, but they were definitely the exceptions. The Upper Hand as well, but that was adapted directly from Who's The Boss? from the USA so technically it probably wouldn't count as having a writing team as such.
An interesting fact is that when they were putting the show together Jim Broadbent, who played Slater, was originally considered to play the part of Del Boy.
Yeh he was first choice but had work on another show and couldn’t commit his time so David Jason got the role. Which was the best move ever. No offence to, Jim. But I don’t think the show would of been the same
Jeremy Beadle was a TV host specialising in prank shows like Game For A Laugh and Beadle's About. In Britain, Beadle's About was very popular and each week, they would set up a member of the public with a prank like swapping their car for a replica and then crushing it😂🤣😂🤣 Sometimes Beadle himself would turn up in disguise as a Policeman.
I like how you remembered that moment in previous episodes when Raquel mentioned that here husband was a cop,it means you are genuinely committed to this show and also i like that Adventure Time T - shirt
As someone who is a member of his patreon he's watched the entire series and watched the documentaries. He loved the show and was invested in the entire run.
Remember Beadles About! Used to watch that as a kid too! I love the bit in the one where Dels got the Big Russian camera on his shoulder singing 'Whats out Trotters about!' 🤣
Who's Rachel? LOOOL Great episode - loved this one Next one is funny too and primarily about Uncle Albert But the last episode of Season 7 before the Christmas Specials is hilarious and a great ending
Josh thank you for letting everyone see the full episode of only fools and horses. I had the dvds and dvd player until about 6years ago. Look forward to to more in the future. I’m glad you enjoy them. I apologise for the length of this comment. Although we never will know each other. Good great future. 😊😊
Hiya Josh, you'll have to watch Beadles about (if its available on youtube of course), just watch 3 episodes and you'll get the idea about it, one time Beadle made a baked Beans factory explode, there were baked beans everywhere, people used to write in and set their friends up, another one was the council changed the name of this woman's shop, the council put old fashioned lettering up and changed the name of the shop and she didn't like it, until Beadle showed up in a policeman's uniform and then she twigged who it was, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria ,England
I always look forward to your reactions on episodes where there is a big reveal or twist, the whole showdown in the living room is absolutely fantastic. Definitely one of my favourite episodes 😄
Jeremy Beadle used to do a hidden camera prank show called ‘Beadle’s About’. I know you’ve seen them all now but on one episode (Fatal Extraction) Del comes out with a video camera singing “watch out Trotter’s about” to the theme tune of Jeremy Beadle’s show. It’s made more hilarious because of what happened just prior to him coming out with the camera 😂
Jeremy Beadle used to host a programme called Beadles about, they would arrange a big prank and film it, at the end Jeremy would reveal himself and people then knew it was a prank, i.e the prank could be that they got an exact replica of your car and changed the number plates so you thought it was yours, then they would do something like crush the car to get a reaction, it was a popular show in the 80s.
No offence to anyone in the police or who is related to a police officer, but Jim Broadbent does look like a stereotypical spiteful, bent copper. Slater is hardly Dixon of Dock Green.

Best line ever: "I've got a thought going around my head" "Well, lend it to Trigger."
An interesting fact is that when they were putting the show together Jim Broadbent, who played Slater, was originally considered to play the part of Del Boy.
He was the first choice to play him, David Jason was like back up choice

As much as I admire jim broadbent, I honestly couldn't imagine anyone but David Jason playing del boy

Triggers actor also had a role in the HP films as Bartimus Crouch
I have been rewatching the HP movies and I never realized that was Trigger until the other day.
Jeremy Beadle is the main name attached to hidden camera shows. He started on Just For Laughs & then hosted Beadle's About.
RIP Jeremy. He was a great entertainer.

"Who's Rachel?" is just an utterly iconic line any fan of British Comedy will get a giggle out of.
